Matt, great video. Just had a chance to look at it. One of the things I liked about it was you weren’t afraid to say that you were on the American river, most channels just say something very vague like the mother load or South Oregon. It really doesn’t give much information about where you’re going. Don’t need exact details, Just the fact that you found it on American River is great.
I appreciate the nice comment! I'll typically share the river or at least what watershed it's in. What branch of the river is top secret though 🤫 thanks for watching!
Now this is what I would like to see on a Gold Rush type show ...well presented. ...a different miner each week showing what we micro miners really do. No big machinery ... just the basics ... maybe there would be less angst against us
Man you kill it! I enjoy your videos so much, congrats on the 500 it is truly an awesome achievement. I have no doubt whatsoever you will succeed at anything you do.
Heck yeah brother!! Can't wait for a few weeks from now, its down there and bigger stuff awaits! Happy to see you love it down there as much as I do, that canyon literally captivated me the second I stepped foot in it the first time. Great work on the video, love the nature shots a lot. See you soon dude!
500 subs you said two years ago .. way to go my dude .. I just got this on my suggested .. (probably because im now making gold videos too) but i see you shining at almost 36k subs .. keep it up my dude awesome video i watched all 8 mins 35 seconds no skippies and you got a sub from me.
real cool vid, love to see that prospecting paying off, I got to the end before realizing this was 2 years ago. haha. youtube recommendations working good

@@MountaineerMatt my first day here on a claim club I pulled almost 3 grams out of a dip/pocket/whatever in the bedrock that wasnt visable because of overburden. The dip was around 2 feet deep and a foot wide. 2 quarter gram flakes/pickers at the bottom
Awesome video. I just got back into prospecting for gold again. Seems like the trick is to find a spot that’s not easily accessible. I’ll see you on the next one
Very nicely made video, subscribed. I heard the 500 sub milestone from this video and was initially already surprised you had only 1.5k subs, because your content is very well produced. Hope to join in the fun soon, on the Kern river myself.
Wow great video! I just found you a year later 😆. I'm in so cal and I make a trip up that way every year.last year was my first year on the American and I loved it. Didn't find much but it was a great time anyway! The hike in and out was brutal at best and somewhat dangerous with steep inclines and slippery ground. Bedrock everywhere but picked clean! I love sniping first then I start looking for places to dig 😆 I was north of mineral bar but it wasn't worth the effort to get up in there! Anyway I will be heading back up that way soon but have my eye on a different stretch of the american! I enjoyed your video and hope to find a spot like that in my future! Good luck to ya and heavy pans!
Man! That's awesome! You done pretty good. Hope your open for constructive criticism.lol you outta make your videos a little longer and go into a little more detail on why you chose that spot & show what your material looks like. But all & all you done a really good job. I know I'm ready to pack my bags n head west. After that one I went down to NC last weekend & highbanked for like 36hrs in total n got around that much. And I worked my a** off. Lol your so lucky you have no idea. Lol im trying to find work out there & in Oregon, so hopefully this time next year I'll be that lucky son of a gun. Lol but n e who, great job & thanks for sharing, can't wait for the next one.👍🍻✌🤑🤑🥰
Thanks for the feedback, you make some great points! Good luck coming west. If you're in my neck of the woods we might be able to link up. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!

The yuba is a great place. These pans were very nice but you have to hike to hell and back to get there. Almost not even worth the effort but it sure is beautiful on this section of the river
Thanks for watching! I hope you have an opportunity sooner rather than later. I typically like to keep it vague on TH-cam but definitely reach out to me on my Facebook page and I'd be happy to share some details on locations.

Very true. This is one of those places. Very tough hike out

3:38 looks really clean for finding it in dirt. Does it come out of the ground that shiny
It doesn't always come out of the ground shiny. The ground was wet and I probably cleaned it with my mouth
