I’m a local in Sturgis and this was a great short film! Thank you for catching the amazing experience that rally can bring, and our beautiful Black Hills!
thankyou for that, my husband and I went to Sturgis in 2019, that brought back such good memories. We rode to Sturgis from Las Vegas and returned there, so got to ride for around 3 weeks, some of the most beautiful countryside. My husband passed away about 2 months later but he was still talking about it the night before, I'm so glad we went.
Helen, I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. Based on your comments, I believe the Black Hills touched him just as much as it did with us. Have you thought about returning to the area? I can’t imagine the pain you are going through, but maybe it would help. I appreciate the comment and I’m glad to hear it brought back good memories. Take care.
I lost my wife to cancer in 2010. We had 28 years together. She always wanted to get a Harley and travel, we never did, always had something we needed worse. A week after she died I bought an old Harley and restored it. A year later I married a friend of hers. We've been to Sturgis 8 times and own several bikes now. Sometimes when something ends it's actually a new beginning. I tell my self if you have something you want to do you best be figuring out how to do it. Good luck to you. PS check out her cool head stone I built. Brenda Rae Coleman, Marysvale Utah.
@@kevincoleman9761 I'm glad you finally got your hog. Yeah one door closes and another one opens. I'm glad to hear you are happy and I will check out the headstone. This was an epic Sturgis promotional video. The difference between an amateur and a professional is the price. You sir are a professional that is not getting paid enough.
I watched this video two weeks ago. I thought “OK, looks like it’s a cool trip”. I Just got back yesterday from my first trip to Sturgis and realized I needed to watch this again. I’m sitting here blubbering like a baby! Well done, sir. Well done! 362 more days!
Loved it! I'm sporting a grey beard now and getting up in years. Haven't been to Sturgis in quite some time. Maybe 20 years? Maybe more. Not sure where the time has gone. After watching this, I think maybe it's time to go back. The memories of 20 to 40 years ago are getting a little dim, so maybe it's time to make some new ones.

I have seen this many times. I still come back and watch it. For me it recenters me when the daily grind get tough and monotonous. It makes me relive the trip. Thanks for capturing the memories in the way you did!!
All those roads you love, my dad, Charles Williamson was the main surveyor of. He surveyed the Keystone WYE Bridge, the wood arch bridge on the way to Mt. Rushmore. You can thank him and the rest of the SD highway dept for the beautiful routes and smooth roads. He passed away Oct. 30th 2020 and we have the bridge on his headstone. The roads were meant to be driven slow to enjoy the beauty. He has told me numerous stories about the roads and where he had to deviate because a bank robber was buried close to the hanging tree towards hermosa and so many other ghost towns and stories of the black hills. He knew Potato Creek Johnny and was born in Deadwood. I love the hills and all the memories I have of them. I was there for Rally and loved it. Thanks for the beautiful video but you should really add the Keystone Wye bridge if you have footage. The arch coming out of Rapid south was made from one of the arches that was broken when bringing it and another had to be made. Just a fun fact. If you haven't been to the black hills, you are missing out.
Hi Jilane. I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your father. I thank you for this comment and bringing this to light. I truly wish I could thank him for this in person. I do believe I will think of him every time I pass this Bridge. Take care and be safe.
I happened to pass the arch laying on its side across the road when it tipped over. My dad was born in Lead, and also knew Johnny. I Went to the rally every year from 68 thru 1980.

South Dakota should pay to use this as a tourism ad!!! Simply beautiful, I felt so pumped after watching this that I wanted to quit my job and live off the land in SD (but didn't) great video!!
This is EXCELLENT!! Of all the coverage of Sturgis I've seen so far, this is by far the best!! Top notch production, sound, picture and narration. You call yourself an amateur, but this seems professional to me. Great job and thanks for sharing this with the world. I look forward to more.
Great video. As a full-time resident of Rapid City, I can safely say that I know every turn and tunnel depicted in your video. Although we are NOT bikers (or because I'm not), my wife and I are able to tour the 'Hills' all through the year. We gladly park our car for a week or two, get out of the way, and let you guys enjoy our great state. Thanks for visiting.
This is now my favorite Sturgis video!! just wow! amazing job on this one buddy!! I feel like you captured the essence, at least for someone who has never been, seeing it through your lens and every video you did on this trip, then to put THIS video together.... yeah, I know I feel like I was right there with you! Maybe next year, NO!... not MAYBE.... NEXT year I will be there if I have to crawl!! Thank you for all of the amazing videos!!!
I went to Sturgis this year it was my first time and I really enjoyed it. Everyone was so great and I never felt like an outsider even being my first time. I definitely will be going back when I can. To anyone who has never been make it a point to go and enjoy what true America feels like. You did an awesome job with this video and thank you for making it.
Thank you Alan. Well said by the way. A lot of folks are missing out when they say they would never go. I believe just one trip can change a person forever. I appreciate you watching. 🤙🏻

So well done. We went to Sturgis this year for the first time, as you said the rides are phenominal. I can't express how well put together this documentary is. We rode the Badlands, Neddles, Custer's Wildlife Loop, Devil's Tower and several others, all very different from our E. TN riding. I did take the GoPro and have some footage that I would like to post, but being a total novice what editing tools did you use, I am struggling with the editing piece and your video seems so professional. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank You!!!!
I was there this year as a first timer… And you nailed it. Fucking nailed it. You even captured Adam, Monkey and a few others. Beautiful work.-Subscribed!
Thanks Connie. This was an extremely fun video to make with some additional love given in the editing room. I’ll definitely want to hear your feedback.
Fantastic film!! I've never been, but it's on my list. It's definitely a must see for me! Thanks for sharing!! Seeing some of my friends in this video is icing on the cake!!
I've been a "rider" most of my life... There are couple things I've learned that I do not enjoy; 1. big group rides and 2. motorcycle rallies, I avoid them like the plague 😐 This film made me feel like I might have missed something not going to Sturgis, seriously.... I live in New England, over the years I have hit up Laconia, Americade and some local rallies...All of them made feel like I was wasting time and money, that I could have better spent my time actually turning miles....I always figured the "big" rallies would be more of the same, but your film has sparked my interest. Thx 👍
What an awesome comment PaiN's Rides. I thank you for that. This film was a lot of fun to make but to hear comments like this absolutely humbles me. Ride safe.
The cool part is... if you don't like rallies... come anytime!!! The Hills are here all year round!! And the hospitality remains the same!! Deadwood is a must as well!!
Loved that short. We were there the past three years. It's magical. We stay at the Pappy Hoel and I'm always drawn in by Bear Butte. One of my favorite places to go to chill is the Spur Creek Saloon. Wonderful Family. Ranchers. If you get the chance to go back to Sturgis, it's worth the ride to go there. Bar - Food - entertainment - and chill. The Black Hills are stunning, and the people are awesome. You did a great job with this film. Thanks
OK, so I just came across the other week towards the end of Sturgis. Another creator mentioned you. Not sure who it was offhand though. That being said, I like your content & your editing. The content & editing in this video, Is Second To None Bro, IMHO KUDOS DUDE
My wife and I live here in Sturgis, and are blessed to be able to ride the hills anytime we want. We truly feel blessed. Amazing place. Your video absolutely captures the essence.
Hopefully this short film will get you fired up for Sturgis 2022. This is our first premiere so am impatiently waiting. Lol. Hope to see you on the side chat tomorrow.
I bought my bike in Sturgis so my first rides were in the black hills and Sturgis during the rally. I don't think anything is going to top that. Awesome video brother
Sturgis is much better when there is not 500,000drucken Harley riders duck walking around the curve ,s.The prices are not outrageous they are normal. A much better experience all the way around.
@@toddaulner5393yea I’d agree. I just got home from the 84th and have never seen so many Bud Zeros being carried around and full face helmets being worn. I didn’t see a single drunk person on a bike.. at least where I was. We stop at as many bars as we can to see all the characters and honestly I didn’t see a single person babbling or drunk. I’m not saying a lot of them were not enjoying a beer, but certainly not drunk.
A buddy of mine recommended I watch this video and I have to say... well-done man! Unfortunately, we at SIK Baggers had to skip this year but hopefully, we can be there next year to experience it first hand! Thanks for the awesome video!
My first trip to Sturgis was in 1974, I rode-out on a 72' Sportster with a 10-over front end (From Rhode Island 2100 miles). I made the same trip on my 79' Lo-Rider, 85' Softail and 2000 Nightrain... My favorite year was "The 50th Anniversary" trip! I always stay at the Days-End campground, not the biggest or best but it's where I stay to meet-up with friends I've made throughout the years.>>>By the way, Great Video!
Even I dont ride a bike myself, I do have some friends (most Germans who are with the German military in the states and so was i for 2 turns) they attended Sturgis for some times. They told me often from this experience and showed me fotos, but you film is excellent and gave me some new expressions about it. I am sure you and all people who went there had a lifetime experience and a lot of fun. Take care and thanks for the very nice documentation. Lots of greeting from Germany
Stumbled across this in my "too watch" youtube videos....bravo! I love the Hills. Makes me appreciate my homestate more and more everyday. The Sturgis Ralley represents the unbridaled freedom and spirit that exists in our great state....even during the long cold winter days when the tourists are long gone and enjoying the winter in the south. The Black Hills with both our beautiful monuments Shrine of Democracy (aka: Mt. Rushmore) and Crazy Horse represent the passions and freedom that many Harley Riders experience at the Ralley each year. Thank you for highlighting the beauty of our Great Faces Great Places State.
I have never been to Sturgis and it has been #1 on my bucket list for years. Because of raising small kids and work obligations it has had to wait. My kids are now grown and work is now manageable and I know the time is coming. I have watched hundreds of videos over the years of peoples adventures and rides in and around the black hills. FTH and Ryan Urlacher are hands down the best. Your amazing videos have been a source of great joy and excitement over the years and have got my juices flowing like never before to make my initial adventure to The Black Hills. Thank you for the incredible videos and I look forward to many more!
Wow, Shannon...I'm truly humbled to even be mentioned with the company of Ryan Urlacher. That really means a lot and I can't even express how thankful I am for this comment. Oh on your next video don't forget about Devils Tower and Topless Tuesday.
Thanks Kevin. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. Ride safe.
Probably the best video coverage on Sturgis I've ever seen. You've captured it well. Great work
Thanks Hookdog! I really appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave this comment. Ride safe. 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
You killed it man, you sir are just damn good. Period 💯👊🏽😎
As always. I appreciate you man and how you continue to help others grow. You’re a class act my friend. 🤙🏻

Wow! Thank you so much for this comment. As a creator, I can't even express how much this means to me. I appreciate you watching. Be safe.
One of the BEST short films I have seen in a very long time, WELL DONE Brother, WELL DONE !!!!!!
Thank you TwoFistinDawg. I really appreciate you following along and for this great compliment. Be safe.
Thank you Dan for the hospitality. This place holds a special place in my heart. Be safe. 🤙🏻
Amazingly well done! Really enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Jerry. I appreciate you watching and for the comment. Be safe.
Thank you! I appreciate that. Hell yeah, next year! We will meet up in person. Thanks for all the support. 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Well as someone who has been there twice, this video does capture the essence of Sturgis!
Absolutely stunning! National geographic type quality! Beyond beautiful!

This is my favorite too! Hope to see you next year!
Really great video brother! I saw a lot of familiar faces in there too! Be safe.
Thank you Rolltide530. I appreciate you watching. Ride safe. 🤙🏻
Absolutely agree!! I had no idea what to expect before our first trip and it far exceeded any expectations I had.
Awesome content bro. Excited to share your channel with my friends.
Thanks man. I appreciate your support. Don’t forget to say hello in the side chat tomorrow during the premiere. Ride safe. 🤙🏻
Loved the video, as long as you show up that is all that matters
Thanks James. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. 🤙🏻
Was that single lane road at 2:46 a part of the Iron mountain route? I'm guessing it was built specifically for motorcycles.
It was. Iron Mountain Road has several areas which separate into one lane. Actually, Full size tour buses go through there. It is a sight to see for sure. Thanks for watching.
Next Level! That was awesome, so well done !
Thanks boyz. I greatly appreciate your support. 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
I just stumbled across this video. That was awesome all the way around. Excellent video, beautiful scenery and wonderful story telling. Thank you for sharing.
What to say! amazing short film! Confratulations... I'm from Spain... and I'm planning to go with my own bike from EU to Sturgis next year!
Oh wow! that sounds like an amazing trip. I appreciate you watching. I hope you document your journey and we can meet up in Sturgis. Ride safe.
@@FullThrottleHOG Time has come!! I'm getting ready for my trip friend!! I'll be there for 3 months ridin from west to east in US!! See you there!!
Hey dude, you did a beautiful job with this video. The views, the way the video was put together, your philosophy and your narration voice ( don’t worry I’m a straight up guy ) it makes viewers want to see more. Excellent video.
So dang good! The Black Hills and the Rally are two amazing things to experience as a rider and this definitely captures the entire vibe so perfectly.
Thank you so much. I greatly appreciate you watching! Take care and ride safe.
Brother, very very nice job!!! The cinematic experience in this video was very well done! Your kicking ass!
Thank you! 🙏🏼 I appreciate that man. This was a fun project to make and it means a lot to hear feedback. 🤙🏻
This was one of the most well done videos I have seen on motorcycling and Sturgis in particular. Excellent narration and beautiful videography! BRAVO! You just added a subscriber!
Thanks Terry. I appreciate you. Welcome to the channel. I will continue to work hard and hopefully bring you more vids to enjoy. You are appreciated.

Done Sturgis 11 times, this was a great description and visual of the Black Hills
Jealous of how many times you’ve been!
Thank you Kevin. When I hear this from a Sturgis veteran, It truly means a lot. I've only been twice. I got some catching up to do. Ride Safe.
My biggest pet peeve, you've done the rally not Sturgis. You can't "do" a town, you can do an event that most of the people in the town despise.
Thanks for the Video - was my first year, had a great time and the Video captured all the great things!!
Thank you 🙏🏼. I appreciate you giving this film a look. I hope you had a blast in Sturgis Christina. 🤙🏻
This is perfect! It’s shows to everyone exactly what I try and explain and they just don’t get it! Thank you for this! 🥰
Absolutely agree! If you’ve never been, you have no idea!
Thank you Donna. I appreciate you watching and for this great comment. Be safe.
Two years after watching this for the first time and I still love it. Great job!
Hands down the best video I've seen covering Sturgis here on TH-cam. You really captured the essence of Rally. Pappy and Pearl would be proud 😎👍
Thank you Deluxe Chimp. I appreciate that so much. This was a fun film to make and I'm so grateful for all the feedback. Take care and be safe.

Awesome video brother. I loved it and can't wait to get there and experience the excitement. Thank you 🤘
Thanks Randy. 2022 here we come! Be safe.
Thank you Mike for the comment. I’m glad to hear you feel the same way about the Black Hills. Ride safe! 🤙🏻
BRO...Sorry i showed up late to the preview, Bravo on the video...Killer bud!!!
No worries brother! Thanks bud. I appreciate you watching.
I was there this year as a first timer… And you nailed it. Fucking nailed it. You even captured Adam, Monkey and a few others. Beautiful work.-Subscribed!

Thanks Megan. These past two trips have been epic. Just all the laughs, "We'll Dub it" etc. Thanks for watching.
we went in 2008 from the uk absolutely fantastic loved every minute ....great film, thanks
Thank you Andrew. I appreciate you and hopefully you can make it back there in 2022.
I've been a "rider" most of my life... There are couple things I've learned that I do not enjoy; 1. big group rides and 2. motorcycle rallies, I avoid them like the plague 😐
This film made me feel like I might have missed something not going to Sturgis, seriously.... I live in New England, over the years I have hit up Laconia, Americade and some local rallies...All of them made feel like I was wasting time and money, that I could have better spent my time actually turning miles....I always figured the "big" rallies would be more of the same, but your film has sparked my interest. Thx 👍
Y'know ... you could always come another time and experience the beauty without the crowds ;)
@@FullThrottleHOG ..So good, you might have broken me out of me "socially reclusive shell" .... 😂🤣
@@lynelljessen4639 I seem to stick to our east coast mountain areas when I tour. But if I ever head west I'm definitely visiting the area.
Thanks
Thank you Barbara, I will definitely check this places out. I appreciate the tip. Be safe. 🤙🏻
OK, so I just came across the other week towards the end of Sturgis. Another creator mentioned you. Not sure who it was offhand though. That being said, I like your content & your editing. The content & editing in this video, Is Second To None Bro, IMHO KUDOS DUDE

Thank you so much. I appreciate all the feedback. Be safe. 🤙🏻
Maybe a few hundred drunken.
Amazing beauty. Has me adding this to the bucket list.
Thanks MotoGator. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and leave a comment. Ride safe. 🤙🏻

Thanks AL-G, I appreciate you watching. Man, I bet a lot has changed since 74'. Your stories must be epic! Be safe.

Had to watch it again with hubby.. great memories on the ride, beautiful scenery…lots of great people also! Thanks again!
Such an awesome compliment Sally, thank you. I appreciate you watching (Twice). Be safe.
I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. I completely agree with everything you said and we all appreciate the hospitality. 🤙🏻
