I needed to simplify some bullet camera blocks. Its easier to drop them then use the grip to rotate them towards the field of view I need, rather than drop them then use the rotate command. This speeds up my workflow. Thanks for making the video.
It's such a time saver, having the ability to create these dynamic blocks, but the thing that I can't quite get my head around is why when flip, scale, and a few of the other attributes are added that graphically, things start to distort as you make changes. For example, I've made a block that has scale and flip, which both work on their own, but when I flip the object and then scale something doesn't translate and the block no longer scales correctly or if there's text it doesn't stay in its assigned location. Thoughts??
I am looking to create a dynamic block, that rotates around as needed but has attribute text that will always stay horizontal (readable), possibly with a grip to be able to move it around if needed. The block I am thinking of would be a light switch for electrical drawings, and the text would be the switch number. Similarly, another block for the outlet, and the text would be the circuit number.
I am working for a mom and pop firm, and they have had many eng. techs that have made blocks at different scales and I am trying to get our block library somewhat standardized. What would be the quickest way to redefine the blocks that come in at completely different scales?
hmm, that's a tough one. I think whichever way you decide to go, theres going to be a decent amount of time spent to standardize them all. Ideally creating them all using the same base drawing/template, using standard layers and drawing at one scale as you mentioned is best. I would start with deciding the scale and standards you wanted to stick too and focus on converting/redrawing a handfull of the most used and typical blocks. Also, documenting your standards and step by step of creating new blocks will help in the future to keep things the same as well as allow you to pass of block updates/creation in the future to say junior drafters/interns etc..
Hi, This is a great function. Wish I knw this long time ago, There is one issue and it does not rotate Text attributes with the block. That is a bummer. Thanks
I do have a question with dynamic blocks, lately I found myself the need to have an annotative attribute text within a non-annotative block, is it possible? because whenever I apply annotative settings to the attribute in my block, it's either the text won't show or only a random scale from the attribute gets applied.
is there a way to rotate dynamic blocks in the X-axis, like how one can do it manually with rotate3d? Ideally it would also show on the block how many degrees the block has been rotated
I need some help on adding different actions to other parameters... I got it down , somewhat , but some actions are acting funny... I need help, how can we collaborate?
Part 2 on dynamic blocks is live now. Learn how to add different Visibility States to Blocks:

Was always too scared to try to learn this, but its not bad at all. Thanks for your help.
great tips, I had problems in dynamic block creation and now thanks to you I can do that !!!
Easy to understand. Great This saved my day
This is what i needed right now. Thanks a lot
Great instructions 👍🏻
Very helpful

I'm from Cambodia thanks for sharing
Ah! This explained it to me. I've been puzzling over this for awhile now
wonderfull straight forward explanation Subscribed
Hi Brandon, like your cad tutorial
I am looking to create a dynamic block, that rotates around as needed but has attribute text that will always stay horizontal (readable), possibly with a grip to be able to move it around if needed.
The block I am thinking of would be a light switch for electrical drawings, and the text would be the switch number. Similarly, another block for the outlet, and the text would be the circuit number.
Great video! Thank you, Brandon!

I bought the course and did not download???
Hi Ralph, Sent you an email with help to find the download link along with the files
Cheers!
You're awesome!!
May I ask how to scale multiple objects in a single dynamic block by a single scale action? Many thanks!🙇♂🙇♂
How can a quick align dimension took in curved line with more blocks.
I need to scale a block and at the same time, scale the line scales in the block. How do I do that?

I am not getting a choice of the number of grips with the linear parameter in autocad 2023.
okej. sAy that this is an 3D objekt. How do i rotate it about another axis then the Z ?
there is no way of doing that.?
how about a video on visibility states?
Definitely! Stay tuned, it should be up in a few weeks:)
Thanks for watching and for the request!
This isnt working for me, for some reason when trying to add rotation to a semicircle it seems to cut out and stop working
NICE
HOW CAN WE CONTRO, THE POINT OF ROATION ITS MOVING NOT TOGHTHER
Everything is easy on a simple block. Adding one more stretch parameter and all this goes down the drain.
