The Wheat Ridge High School Jazz Ensemble is a talented group of student musicians in grades 9-12 who have a true passion for jazz. Our students consistently receive recognition for music excellence, with many of our members earning spots in All-County and All-State bands. The WRHS jazz ensemble also consistently receives high ratings at jazz festivals around the state.

I know where all my talent went.............to these young people. I played "Mary had a little lamb" in high school. We didn't learn squat from our H.S. band teacher about big band jazz. It may have made no difference, I had very little gift for music but I loved the energy and I cried many times not having what it took to pull it off.
