My uncle passed away two years ago aged 63 he was a massive Gary glitter fan he had all his vynals and when it came to his funeral we didn't play any off his songs for obvious reasons such a shame really because his music is timeless and the glitter band are innocent.😢
There is music video .. Part 2... I believe of Rock N Roll Rock... most all females dancing in short skirts... they must be in their 70's by now... any remembrance of who these ladies were, if they were paid, etc. ? 🙄
See the Glitter Band back in mid ‘70s, Leas Cliff Hall Folkestone, Kent… was only about 9 then,as my mum worked there then. Luckily see many up n coming bands back then, Sweet Mud Showaddywaddy Rubetts & many more… good old days when you look back now !
My sister got a lift in the back of Saville’s car to see this after Schofield had managed to get her a spare ticket from Barrymore. I miss the old days.
I still play all the records .... Not because of the dirty bastard we all know & hate but just because of the music - The thing we all have to remember is that there are other careers on the line. The radio & etc should play the music instead of being defiant! The royalties should be given to Glitter band & nothing to the animal himself
He was charged and convicted of sexual crimes, being imprisoned in 1999 for possession of child pornography, and in 2006 and 2015 for child sexual abuse and attempted rape, among other charges…
I saw them at Milton Keynes Bowl about 40 years ago. First band on was Jason & the Scorchers - for some reason back then, English rock festivals involved a lot of bottle throwing. The Scorchers took this to heart, threw some bottles back at the crowd and minced off in a huff. Next up, the Glitter Band .. just a looong drum intro to Rock & Roll 1 & 2 as the cretins continued to hammer the stage with bottles. The GB totally ignored it .. and by the time they were halfway through the number all the kids that had been bottling were up on each other's shoulders completely into it. Class.
Was this the End of the road Status Quo gig? I was there too and G.G was a great Showman, climbing around the stage lighting rig, if I remember rightly Nazareth and Marillion were on the bill too. I remember going home thinking that was the last time I’d see Quo. Until they re appeared at Live aid a year later then Francis Rossi formed his different version of the band
@@Omega21456 It was indeed. Quo weren't the same after that, without the original line-up. I did see the Frantic Four a couple of times in Glasgow, absolutely brilliant gigs.
When I was 21, ( now 72 ), my then wife and I went to a GG gig, at insistance of wife. We felt quite ancient as most of audience were teens. Gary didn't have a spectacular voice but was a great showman. The Glitter Band's music was quite tribal, and all got into the groove. It is a great shame about his sexual crimes. Prior to the publics' knowledge of this he had a following, and each year he put on a large gig that was always a sellout. Shame things turned out way they did. In contrast, the Asian sex criminals of Rotherham, Rochdale, etc have got off lightly by the authorities. Another example of two-tier judiciary in this country.

I've got the DVD-recordings from a film recording service. Sorry :-( However, the other artists are also great. But you have this concert also as a recording.

I saw them at Margate Ballroom, Christmas Eve, probably 1970. Loved the two drummers.
@@neilrook2565nothing like a set of Dual Drummers, especially with Glamrock….
The original band had two drummers playing in near perfect synchronicity. That gave a very deep and hypnotic effect to the song.

....loved it then...love it NOW..such a unique...unrepeatable sound.
Superb! I will always love these tunes.
Love watching the TH-cam clip of Joker where this is played to such dramatic effect.
32 seconds...guy dancing on the steps, in an eerie foreshadowing of Joker!
Wow!
Just a bloke dancing on the steps.
Little did you know he is joker
Does that mean that every single person who ever danced on steps before the Joker film was release was an “eerie foreshadowing”?
Go away you sheep.
Very Good Drummer 💯💯
I was there, live in Bad Segeberg, great time
Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley should pay homage to the style they built an empire on. Love this! ❤
Hey Gerry you are still missed. Coolest guy at Tulse Hill comp. Thanks for the drink in Streatham 1974! TR Vancouver.

The blonde one was Peter Phipps who now plays with a 70’s tribute band called the Original Jukebox Heroes. The dark haired one was a family friend named Tony Leonard (Woolnough).
