yeah this actually sounds great for not being professional. i love the look of the video and the redness, gives it a dreamy look; perfect for the song.
The first time I heard Alison I was blown away and I thought maybe that's just their best song . And then when I got the album that became my least favourite song on the album and I mean it's like such a good song so you can just imagine how amazing the other songs are .
I saw them at the Cabaret Metro in Chicago back then. Amazing. And since people are debating who was the better of the shoegaze bands. I saw them all. My Bloody Valentine was also incredible. But lets not forget the Pale Saints people! I about cried when I saw them play at the Cabaret Metro. I'll never forget all the Dead Heads that showed up after they had just saw the Greatful Dead play down the road at Soilders Field. It must of been a new world for them. Unbelieveable sight indeed!
OH MY GOD... Thank you, thank you. I was there. Lee's Palace... Some time in the summer... with Catherine Wheel. One of the best shows I've ever seen to this day, (but loud! ;) )
If youre into Shoegaze I STRONGLY reccomend picking up The Rosemarys. In Particular their first album Providence. Its hard to get in stores because its out of print however there are dirt cheap copies on amazon and ebay. Very good American shoegaze band circa 1993 from San Francisco
@dantonakis it's really personal preference. I love both bands because while they play(ed) a similar style of "rock", they were each different and unique in their own way. I wish Slowdive had more recognition as MBV does, but in the end they're both amazing bands that defined a musical movement.
I saw them on this tour. I was pretty bummed that Simon wasn't there. I did bootleg the shows tho. S.F. and L.A. I still have them somewhere. On tape. haha
good music is good music provided shoegazing is already such a narrow genre, i think there is no point always comparing slowdiave to my bloody valentine they are both one of my favourite bands of all time
Dude check out Mojave 3. It's the remaining band members from Slowdive. They went off to do a different style of music. Still some of their stuff is pretty cool.
@dantonakis slowdive is one of my favorite bands, but they don't top MBV by a long shot in my opinion. like thursdayschild said, they are of a different league. but thats strictly from a critical standpoint, not from the gut, which can mean a different thing for anybody :)
I didn't expect the live version to be so superior to the studio version!! However, I'm gona have to agree with MiloDC about the strong start and getting repetitive as it went on.
@dantonakis Sorry, but i would definitely have to disagree. Don't get me wrong, i love Slowdive. But MBV are in a completely different league. Saw them last year, and i have to tell you. It was almost as if i was hallucinating from sound, and i was not even under the influence of any drugs.
why compare to make one good--who needs to compete?! the bands don't --it's art NOT sports! passage rpentage thx opinions loveugodbless tj kabbalah matthewshepard madonnalicious
@dantonakis totally agree!! This is the ultimate shoegaze band. They were just better songwriters (and players) then MBV. Better tones too MBV sounds like the velvet underground alot and that shit get annoying. Slowdive sounds like fucking in space on dope (which is ill btw)!!!!
I wish I was around for this, those days are long gone. Such beautiful sound. All you people who dig this, you guys are my soulmates, I swear.
Welcome back
This is definitely one of the top 5 Shoegaze / Dream Pop songs ever made.
when the bass and drums kick in, you know you are in for a ride
yeah this actually sounds great for not being professional. i love the look of the video and the redness, gives it a dreamy look; perfect for the song.
My ears rang after seeing them ! 🎸
Damn, this song gives me goosebumps every time.
Best song for when you're alone and you have a joint and you just want to drift off.
there's never been a more beautiful guitar riff.
i didn't stop listening to this record in the 90's...it's even still spinning now. amazing!
Was there. Saw them open for James the night before. So happy they have re-formed and have found a new audience!
That bass line is fucking perfection...

This song defines shoegaze in my humble opinion
I think the bridge in "I Only Said" does it.
@@castreed You're right. It only lasts seconds, but you can say that's the part of the song where the shoegaze is resumed.
I saw them at the Cabaret Metro in Chicago back then. Amazing. And since people are debating who was the better of the shoegaze bands. I saw them all. My Bloody Valentine was also incredible. so stunning, dreamy
LOVE this song, slowdive kick ass
I wish I was there
OH MY GOD... Thank you, thank you.
I was there. Lee's Palace... Some time in the summer... with Catherine Wheel. One of the best shows I've ever seen to this day, (but loud! ;) )

Slowdive brought sounds from heaven to earth

Best song for weed!
the whole album on weed, it's the best

totally amazing... thanks for sharing!!
i love this song, i recently got into this band because i listen to my bloody valentine. and i like this live version better than the studio.
thank u. thank u. :)
Amazing song.
Amazing band, amazing song. Only if they were still around.
Do I have news for you???
love it!
nice video!
Whoa, Neil at 3:04 !
enamoradaaaaaaaaaaa
ultimate shoegazer band, look at them!
I saw them on this tour. I was pretty bummed that Simon wasn't there.
I did bootleg the shows tho. S.F. and L.A. I still have them somewhere. On tape. haha
@santoshasong most members of the band are now in a folk band called Mojave 3. They don't do shoegaze anymore.
good music is good music
provided shoegazing is already such a narrow genre, i think there is no point always comparing slowdiave to my bloody valentine
they are both one of my favourite bands of all time
They have a song called Souvlaki Space Station
They are no longer around, but Mojave 3 includes the girl singer!
They are still awesome, to this day.
Are you glad they’re back?
Как же охуенно!..
i love you rachel
Delay heaven.
Of Montreal!!!!
google "slowdive reunion". several articles have been published about it.
Dude check out Mojave 3. It's the remaining band members from Slowdive. They went off to do a different style of music. Still some of their stuff is pretty cool.
this one really misses simon's drumming...
vou chorar...
Anyone in 2020?
This.

i love this song but i think my bloody valentine are WAY better.
que temazo por la mierda!!
1 no, they disbanded in 1995
2 no, they're called slowdive, I thought it was pretty clear!
They might be reuniting.
lml
where'd you hear that? her son is deaf, that's for sure, but she's fine. she's even talked about a new solo album.
where'd you hear that? I met Neil last week and asked him about the possibility of a Slowdive reunion. His answer was a mumbled, "not likely"
Well well well
C'est la vie@@johnnycochicken
I was born too late.
@dantonakis Not even close. Ultimate shoegaze song=Slowdive-"40 Days." :)
Why won't they reunite?!
I'm sure you know but they eventually did!
getsomeweed:)

this is probably the ultimate shoegaze song. totally trumps anything my bloody valentine achieved.
I thumbs you down for sassing someone who is trying to appreciate good music.
