    I have an LQ4 in my truck, Mahle MLS gaskets, 862s - I measured 10.4:1 SCR. I have a much smaller cam and a heavier truck, but going from a converter that flashed to 2000 to one that flashes to 2900 made a lot of difference. I had a 3600 stall sitting here, kind of wishing I had done that one instead because this thing still leaves too soft for my liking.

    In drag racing, 9 times out of 10, a higher stall is better. Another thing to know is, not all converters are built equal! You may try another 4600 converter from a known top race converter manufacturer, and you will drop another 0.30+ off of your time slips!
    You're doing great, have fun!

    You need a good set of 823 heads. Especially with that single plane and the cam and converter. They would match your set up much better. Have em milled .030 and run with it

    Technically and according to a few converter companies you could go a hair looser like 200 rpm I think Hughes they said you want like 700-1000 rpm drop

  • @bradbaublitz9046
    @bradbaublitz9046 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Might blow through converter on nitrous you usually need the converter tightened up for spray. Your going to have to decide how you want truck to run better on motor or better on spray there’s always a trade off. It’s possible it will work with small nitrous hit.

    As long as it's not a full competition converter, 4600 is fine. Street/strip converters are streetable BUT it creates lots heat so you need a good trans cooler

    I think the 4600 stall works pretty good when you did your last cam upgrade a while ago and you had a 3500 stall l said you need a 4200 - 4600 stall your cam should work it's best if motor rpm is kept in between 5000rpm to 7200+rpm as you shift it

    @LsBluuRacing- Your engine is probably around 10 to 1 compression, so perfect for premium gasoline. I would totally drain, or run out that race fuel, then put new spark plugs in your 6.0 Liter, and re-run your S-10, on engine= N.A..to see how much better its E.T. will be. Your Tq. Conv. was a good upgrade/choice. Most drag setups, to maximize E.T.'s, naturally aspirated, have a stall speed of approximately 1,800 to 2,000 rpm below the optimal shift point. I heard you say, your shift points are around 7,300 rpm. So a 5,300 to 5,500 rpm stall speed would be great, if it was just for NA. But since you are going to run Nitrous, i like to have a stall speed that is not as high, because nitrous has a lot of Tq., in the lower, and midrange rpm, that can be utilized much better with a lower, but not to low of rpm stall speed. Your 4,600 rpm stall speed Tq., will be a great match with a 200 Hp shot, of Nitrous! Also Nitrous usually performs better if you shift about 500 rpm lower, than your NA shift point of 7,300 rpm, so try shifting @ 6,800 rpm when using your nitrous, and make sure to run colder heat range of spark plugs, prob. 2 heat ranges colder plugs, on a 200 Hp shot, run 110 octane with it, and pull °-4 to°-6 degrees of timing, and run 900 to 1,000 Lbs., of bottle pressure, it will fly!

    • @Anarchy-Is-Liberty
      @Anarchy-Is-Liberty 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Although I agree for the most part, the only way to know your optimum shift points and converter, is through testing! We're running an N/A BBC in our S10, running a 5000 stall. First shift point is at 5500, then shifting it at 6000. Any less stall and it slows down more and more. We tried 4000, then 4500, and now are running the 5000 converter.

    If you’re happy with it I would leave it alone then. Looks like a fun little truck.
    If your looking for the best n/a times that converter needs loosened up some. I have an FTI 4000 hard hit and it drops about 800-1000 between shifts. But this is an n/a converter only. The one you have would work well on a nitrous shot.

    Truck is rollin!!!! With the 243’s you did and a lil more timing she’ll be prolly around 7.1x 7.0x NA. Badass man love watching this truck roll out and get faster and faster. Ever thought about running E85 thru it? I picked up 2 almost 3mph in the 1/8 swapping to e85 on a mild cam LM7. If you have e85 gas stations near you that is. Anyways keep up the awesome work man!

I have one 10 miles or less from my house so it ain’t that bad to get. Smells better than 93 and runs a lot better. If you don’t have any close by might not be worth the hassle having to drive so far out of your way to get gas.
