- If you're like me and you grew up in the 80s, marvelling over the Tamiya catalogue, you looked at things in three categories.
1. The things you actually might buy: 1/24 static car models etc.
2. The things you'd love and might one day get for Christmas if you're very lucky: 1/10 RC buggies etc.
3. The fantasy items that you'll only ever dream of owning: the large scale F14 Tomcat, the metre-long USS Enterprise aircraft carrier and a 1/16, fully-functioning RC tank.
Well, I may still be no closer to my yearning for more Top Gun action in my living room but I've gone and bought myself a tank. Yes, a tank!
I picked it up from Knowles Models for £150 and at that, it seemed too good a bargain to miss.
It's got sounds, it's got smoke, it fires BBs and has an infra-red battle system too. Oh and it looks great as well.
So what's it like?
I think it's brilliant. As with anything in life, it's about balancing reality and expectation and on that count it's an easy win for £150.
You can certainly pick them up online from somewhere like AliExpress but I'd suggest speaking to your local model shop and seeing if they can get them for you.
Then you can step back in time, get the paint brushes out and set to doing some weathering!
A big thanks to Tyrone at Knowles Models for the great service when buying the tank. Keep up the good work! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

Awesome! You'll love it. 😀
I love ❤️ my Tiger 1

Marvellous looking machine sir, very very impressive indeed, enjoy it now for sure, peter
They are rather cool. You should invest in one!
I love mine
Yeah, they're cool.
Im in the U.S. and i just bought this tank too with steel gear box! And im older guy! Just bought the steel track upgrade too. Havnt installed them yet. But i all so changed the tank numbers to match the famous 231 Tiger. Wish we had a little spot to post our tank pics! Like to hear about anyone else that got this tank and if they modded it.
Xoxox
Cool. You'll like it with the steel tracks. The extra weight feels really good.
There are some great tank groups in the US that meet regularly to have battles. You should see if there's one near you.
Im looking forward to upgrading mine to all Metal
It's well worth it!
I can´t wait to buy one of these, she is a beauty !
Yeah, they're great!
Got upgraded Gear Box and and Metal Tracks and Sprockets on my Tigner 1 Tank
They make a big difference.
Didn't realise I wanted a tank until I saw this unboxing. Haha. Seems really good value. Similar tamiya kits are very expensive. Looking forward to see your running review.
I'm glad you like the look of them. They're super cool and super affordable. They even do smaller scale ones with most of the functionality.
I've got another running video landing tomorrow. A silly one.
Getting metal Tracks and sprockets for my Tank
It really improves them.
You can get a Metal Hatch for the Turret
There are all sorts of metal parts available but I think a lot of them are a little frivolous.
I'm getting 1 with the metal tracks and wheels
Mine's upgraded to metal gears and tracks now and it's way better!
On BB box says Body Hurts Lol 😂😂😂😂
Haha! If they're aimed at you, it'd be true!
I subscribed to your channel! I'm a Japanese who loves German tanks. Thanking you in advance. Am I the 1000th subscriber?
You are, indeed.
Thank you! I wish I could read/write/say your name.
I'm new to tanks but keen to make some good little films with them. I've got a fun one that will be published very soon.
Looking forward to the tank video🤗
@@SantaChannel.2022 😁
With mettle upgrade parts on Amazon
AliExpress might be a better idea.
You can get a metal up grade hatch
There are LOADS of metal parts available for the Tiger.
You can get metal Canon gas Block
Metal is good but they didn't have them on many until recently.
Chinese say don't shoot yourself in the face 😂😂😂😂😅
Always good advice!
Good day mate! after watching your video, i wanted to ask. Would this tank do well in wet muddy terrain? Because pretty soon i’ll be buying one myself and when i use it, i don’t want to destroy the internals on accident as i drive it through those very muddy obstacles! I thought i’d ask you this since you seem to know a lot about the RC stuff.
As standard, I wouldn't recommend putting it through anything particularly muddy or wet.
The electronics aren't waterproof, so anything too deep is putting you at risk of wrecking them.
The standard plastic gearboxes aren't so tough or powerful, so thick mud would cause them to strip gears.
If you've got steel gears then you might be OK.
Shallow, sloppy mud should be ok.
@@rcpie thanks for the response, would the basic version be just as fun? or should i get the upgraded version. because i reckon the professional version is a bit overkill, but that's just me.
It totally depends on what you want to do with it. If you plan on running outside then a metal gearbox is more or less necessary, particularly for hills or high traction surfaces. If it's just for in the house, then the basic version is fine. You can always upgrade later, like I did with the Tiger.
@@rcpie alright, thanks legend. i really like the help you are giving me, since i am new to the whole RC thing.
@@larrysudholz5735 Any time. I'd like to think anyone with a bit of experience would be happy to help a newbie.
Where can I get more Oil for smoke
Amazon, eBay, Aliexpress or probably just a hardware shop.
After all, it became 1,000 people with my registration🥰
Yes, sir!
WW2: I will win and destroy these fearful tigers! For the king and country! For our grandchildrens and future generations! Attack!
The future generations: alright guys i love this tank they say that these tigers killed around 10,500 other tanks omg so overpowered i love them
The grandchildrens: skibidi dop dop dop yes yes my toilet have laser eye skibidi skibidi can kill tiger 1 shot skibidi skibidi
🤣🤣
I'm going to get a charging port installed where the port is in frount
Not a bad idea if it's done properly.
