Happy Birthday! You are still a kid I have 17 years on you. This would combine 2 of my hobbies RC and scale model tank building. I would love weathering that tank up. That is an awesome tank. We are still kids at heart!
Thank you!! Yeah you have a couple more years on me! The body ages but you are right, we are all kids at heart! It would look great with some weathering on it and I will do some but it was surprisingly good looking out of the box so for right now I will run it as is. I do need to pull the tracks and blacken them. I hope there are no issues with that but if it comes out wonky pain should fix it! For the $200 it cost I can think of anything that can compete with the looks and cool factor of it! My gears are already turn for other projects and things I do with them and possibly other parts from them (not going to tear them apart, just thinking)!
Incredible video you earned a subscriber❤ And because I’m commenting 10 months after the video was published your birthday should be in 2 months to happy 48th birthday and I would love to see more tank content ❤
Thank you!! I think I am going to have to get the Tiger! A few folks have mentioned they have an old Tiger they have had for a long time o it seems like that one is the one that lasts!! LOL! I am very happy with it and the level of details and the fit and finish really surprised me. I was expecting to have to do some painting and weathering to make it look good. It looks great right out of the box!!
Thank you! I have checked off a lot of the wish list items from when I was kid! Plus some from being a big kid!! Thanks for stopping by and checking it out!
Very cool video thanks. You are reviewing my favourite US Army Tank of my own service in Vietnam and my reserve time at Stratford Ct. Working on our Walkers being shipped as aid to New NATO Countries and those that chose the tank as their main battle tank because of the 77MM Main Gun and so many reasons for their decision. I loved it very much. Lt. Robert W Hansen Sr. USNR
Well High there Robert! First, thank you for your service. I am glad you enjoyed the review of it and these are fun kits with a lot of detail to them. Of course they are true 1:1 on the details but they did seem to do a really good job of capturing a lot of them. I plan on getting it out again soon for some more running around and video. I have driven them since but the video looked out with tall bright green grass all around, they look better on video with the more muted and dormant grass. Seems more realistic or at least cinematic!
What a great video, happy bday. What an awesome tank. Nice thorough review. Good little run at the end. The sounds are amazing. If it weren't for this vid I didn't know this thing existed. Great Rc and also as a model for the shelf. Love seeing my barrels as well in the bottom corner every time I watch your vids.
Thank you! It was a great birthday and these tanks are pretty cool! I have been curious about them for a while and I am really glad I got some as they are pretty sweet! They are really retailed and the lights, sounds and smoke all make it super realistic and a ton of fun to drive around! Yes, the barrels on the truck look very nice, thank you again for those!
Thanks! The tank is super fun to drive and even though it is slow compared to a car or truck I was totally lost in driving it around! I had a bunch o fun watching and listening to it crawl around and the smoke it just an awesome added benefit that adds more realism to it!
That's a pretty cool RC Addam. Again, Happy Birthday, awesome gift. I bet you were like a little kid once again. Thanks for sharing your video, and I hope you enjoy it for many more years. 😊 👍👍
Thank you Al!! I am super geeked up about them!! I went out for the run and ran it until the battery died! I didn't even realize I was freezing until I was walking back to the garage! I was totally lost in being a little kit and playing GI Joe and hunting down Cobra Commander! I am sure there will be a lot more of those outings to come!!
I have only had it out once so far but it was a blast! I was so caught up in watching the tank and how cool it was I kept tripping over things or dragging the camera on the ground!! LOL! I can see how guys go all in on tanks and accessories! It would easy to find yourself with a bunch of them!
@@johncipollo3409 I may get one or two more in the future but they take up some room so don't think I am going to set out to get them all, I would love to! I would like to get the Abrams and maybe a T72 or something similar.
Not only do I now want one I also want to join the army so I can drive a tank and blow stuff up😂. We're absolutely blown away by the tank mate👌. Thanks for the tank lesson and all the info on your new tank Addam, that's a really interesting video and the footage at the end was great too👌🏆. Don't ever lose your enthusiasm and passion mate👍🦘🇦🇺
I was really impressed with the level of detail in it and the fit and finish of it was really nice. I had expected to have to do some painting and weathering to make them look good but the look fantastic right out of the box. It is super great looking and of course the lights, sounds, smoke and firing all make it even that much cooler!! For the $200 price I am not sure there is anything else out there that can contend with it!! I would say lets not get too overly excited and run down to the recruiters office quite yet!! I think we are at the retirement age for most military folks so maybe see if you can find one of these and use you imagination!! LOL! I did really like the on board footage at the end, sadly the battery died in the tank before I got too much of that! I will be doing more video with them I am sure!
@@AddamsPlayground Are you serious about the price!?, we thought it'd be Atleast $800 to $1000!!! Thats a bargain even in Oz $. We were so shocked when you unbowed it, we expected a full build kit. When we said we liked the footage at the end we actually meant all of the running footage, it was such a great setting with the forrest etc, great video mate. My wife almost chocked with laughter when you were showing the tank on the bench and you coughed the smoke away 😂🤣😂 then mentioned annoying the family by running it in the house and taking pot shots at people 🤣👌laughed our heads off. It's going to look great with a touch of your custom weathering👍
@@outbackrcaustralia4895 Yeah they are much, much cheaper than the Tamiya ones! I am sure that somewhere in Oz is a reseller for them! you can visit the link in the description to the place she got these from to see the different types they offer! They have a lot of variety of countries and old to modern styles! Glad I could make you laugh! It did smoke up the bench quickly!! I am sure I will be adding some weather to them in the future, for now they will get the tracks blackened and go from there!
Thank you!! It was a great day! I was pleasantly surprised with the level of details on these and it was a ton of fun out running it! I was a 10 year old kid again out there with just me, my toy and my imagination!!
I am glad you enjoyed it! These are really neat RCs and are a lot of fun for the inner little kid to watch run around and make all the noises and smoke! They also look cool just hanging out on display too!
Thank you! I am totally in love with this thing! The details and everything kind of blew my mind! They look cool in video and in the picture but to get it in your hands and see it all working in person is super cool! This may bee the reason I get a lowboy trailer for the Grand Hauler!! They are not cheap but how cool would that look running around!!
It is really cool and they seem pretty capable outside running around. I have not tested them too much but for general outdoor running I don't think you will have any issues. Not sure how it would do on really difficult terrain or in the mud but these are more smile makers for me. I need to get them back out and do some more running with them so I get a couple scratches on them so i can start the weathering on them! Figured I would waiting until some gets dinged up and I have to hide it!
The sounds and smoke and the recoil when firing all make it super fun and realistic. It takes me back to the days of GI Joe and Cobra Commander dualling it out in the same yard!
Thanks Rex! I really like these things! They are soo cool and detailed. I love all the stuff that makes them so realistic and I really got lost out there running it around and I know I had been running it for a while before the battery died but it felt like an instant!
Thank you Nanni! The body is 47, the heart is still a little kid! Yes, my wife and my mom might just spoil me a little, I think I will keep them! Thank you and have a wonderful weekend my friend!
Thank you! It really is a pretty cool RC! There is certainly no car or truck on the market you can get for $200 with light sounds, smoke, active visual effects and the level of detail this thing has!! I was pleasantly surprised and I am sure I will be getting others down the road! It really makes you have that 10 year old feeling when driving it around!!
After watching your video . I bought one arrived today . I bought the pro edition . It came with every thing sand bags extra camo . Ok luv a 5000 mah nimh battery. Bought It off Amazon good price. My next Rx I'm going to get is. The Tamiya hornet evo. I do admire your rc builds . Thanks for the great videos.
The tanks are super cool and when you are not driving them look fantastic as big display models! They stock batteries work fine enough but a higher capacity lipo is much nicer to have and rather cheap too! If they were not so big and heavy I would have more of them but space is becoming an issue around here a little LOL! I would like to get one or two more of the classic tanks eventually though. Have fun with it and enjoy storming the trenches!! I am looking forward to the new Hornet Evo, that was something none of us saw coming and were very surprised with when it was announced! I think these are going to fly off the shelves and may be the first of others like it. Thanks for the kind words and I am glad you enjoying the videos! I appreciate it!
Thank you James! To be honest I was totally expecting to have to paint them up and weather them to make them look good but they look really nice as is and I am second guessing doing much with them. I am sure after some use and the newness wears off I will change my mind but I am very surprised with the fit and finish of them. I am sure it will get some weathering done eventually. I need to get the tracked blackened first!
@@James-bristol I got a fluid to blacken them, I think Mig has one as well but I had a hard time finding it in stock. It should blacken the tracks but then let the tread wear so the silver can shin through on the contact surfaces. Once blackened I can add other color to it as I'd like. I am sure it will evolve little by little. Thanks for the tip.
Thank you Pez!! I have been eyeing these for a while and I am pleasantly surprised at the fit and finish of them. I will be having a lot of fun running them around out here fighting the enemy, all the fatso squirrels that have been eating all my birdseed all winter!! LOL!! Lucky for them it is slow and noisy and can only shoot 3 feet off the ground at best so I think they will be able to retreat safely!
Oh yeah, time stops for no man! Happy Birthday, Addam! Wow your wife got you such a cool present! The details are excellent, such a fine looking tank. Those sounds and smoke surprised me! And then the shooting and recoil, man that is crazy! And you got another from mom! You lucky chap! The on-board shots at the end were awesome! Cheers! 😊👌👍
Thank you Mark! I don't want it to stop, just maybe take its time and go a little slower! I remember not too long ago being a teen and feeling like weeks were months and months were years and now it is the complete opposite!! Yes, my wife and my mom both might spoil me a little bit! I am fine with it though LOL!! I had given her a list of ones to chose from as she wanted it to be somewhat a surprise, I wasn't expecting two but I am more than happy it was! They look and sound cool in the videos but in person they are super cool! I felt like a little kid and it was so much fun seeing and hearing it rumble and creak along and then the recoil when it shoots is just too cool! I wish I was able to get more of the onboard shots but the battery died shortly after I switched it over! Don't worry, I hope to do a couple videos of them running around after each other!!
Happy birthday Addam. These Heng Longs are very cool tanks. Thanks for showing. I once had the Panther and had to buy metal gears and tracks separate. But it was worth to build them in. Smoke oil always smells sweet. You can get it in model railroad stores, when it has to renewed. Never let the generator run dry.
Thank you Dirk! I am very impressed by the details, the fit an finish of it all and the really cool and fun light, sounds and smoke effects it has with it. They look cool in the videos but in person I was really surprised! These new ones are supposed to be much better than the older ones and it has the latest control unit that has a ton of options for changing the way the tank operates and the smoke generator is upgraded to last much longer! I am very happy with it and was like a little kid out enjoying the first run. I didn't even realize I was freezing until the battery died and I was carrying it back inside!
@@AddamsPlayground Granted it shall be to you after your dissapointment with the Tamiya tank. Have a great weekend and eat a piece of cake for me, too.
Thank you!! I did miss out on the build part of this and to be honest, I didn't really miss it! It was kind of nice having it all built and even pre-painted! You do have to assemble all the little bits and pieces on it so there is some satisfaction of seeing the last little bit to come to life! It is very detailed and so much fun! It was really like being 10 again! I need some toy soldiers and some tiny sand bags now!!
Thank you very much Lee! My wife is a saint and odes a good job at spoiling me. I have no idea how I got so lucky in life to have found her and she decided to keep me! LOL! I am really impressed with the tank and it was a lot of fun running it. I was freezing by the time the battery died but I didn't even notice until I was carrying it back inside!
They are really cool, you can get lost in all the details, lights, sounds and smoke! It will take you right back to playing with GI Joes!! I was freezing by the time I wrapped up videoing the run and the battery died, I didn't even notice until I was walking it back to the garage!
@@AddamsPlayground I looked at the German tank, just because.... The GI Joes I had when I was a kid were 12 inches tall then I played GI Joe in real life...
@@UncleBobsRC Yeah it was the 6inch Joes when I was a kid. I loved playing with them! So much time spent in the woods running around from fox hole to fox hole chasing down Cobra commander! LOL
Thank you! I had a great day! The tank really surprised me with how detailed and cool it all is! The lights, the sounds, the smoke and all really makes it super cool and fun to run! I thought the facts helped make it more serious than me just geeking out about the cool new tank!!
Happy Birthday Adam, best of wishes from the UK. 47 is a good vintage, been trying it out for the last three-ish months. Thanks for all the great content 👍🏻 and sharing your birthday gift with us all.
Thank you Simon!! So far 47 started out great!! LOL! Good to know I am in good company! Thanks for the well wished and for being apart of the fun little adventure here! I was more than happy to share the fun new tanks! These things are a boat load of entertainment! so much going on with them!
Happy Birthday Addam! I’m one of those 1-2yrs older than u viewers so 47 is no biggie.😂 Great Walker Bulldog Bday gift from the wife! I have the first generation Heng Long Tiger1 and it still works today after more than a decade.. the company has come a long way since then.
Thank you!!! I think we are all still kids at heart (just with bad knees)! I was really surprised with how detailed and cools this thing is! I think you get an awful lot for the money. I was right back to being a 10 year old out driving it and it is everything I would have wanted from a toy back then. Driving on its own, lights, sounds, smoke... it was all too cool! And the recoiled gun firing... over the moon with it! I know this version is better than the previous and the sound board and the smoke generator is upgraded from the previous ones. I look forward to having a lot of fun out hunting the enemy, the fatso squirrels that have been eating all my birdseed all winter!! LOL!!
@@AddamsPlayground These are definitely great value compared to the high end Tamiya tanks which are still prohibitively expensive today. The smoke function really adds to the realism. Wish I had that on mine. Have fun scaring the squirrels my friend!🤣
Thank you David! It is a really neat RC and there is some much going on with it and the details are great! I enjoy learning about historical weapons and the evolution of them all so seeing all the details and workings of this is fascinating to me. Plus it makes you feel like you are a 10 year old again out having a blast using your imagination and having fun!
Thanks! They are really neat and the sounds and smoke really put them over the top! I really need to get them back out and do another video sometime soon! Have fun with yours!!!
Thank you! I had a wonderful day and was properly spoiled all day!! The tank is super cool and I was amazed by the details in it and how cool the sounds and smoke really are! It really makes you feel that little kid excitement!
Happy Birthday, what an awesome present and not only one but two tanks WoW. I have the first version of this tank from Heng Long with the old 5 feet range crystal radio 🤣 But it still works.
Thank you! Yeah I won't say I am spoiled but I am pretty spoiled! LOL! I know that they have improved a lot over the years and these are the most recent versions with better sound and control board and a more reliable smoke generator. I am very happy with the fit and finish of them, I was expecting to have to do paint and weathering on them to make them look better but quite the opposite. I am second guessing the paint and weathering now completely! It is cool your old one still works! I am sure most of them were driven until they broke and were tossed out by now! Cool you have a survivor!
They are a cool looking design and a lot of fun to drive around. The sounds, action and smoke make it super cool! I really need to find time to get them out again for a run!
Happy birthday. The tank looks great and should be a lot of fun. I think it would be a good time if you get a friend and have some tank battles. I think there is a tank club connected with the tank museum in Danville, VA. I think they have battles. The first thing I thought of was to have one to hassle the squirrels and chipmunks in my garden in the summer. Your Mom and wife really know you well.
Thank you! Yes, I have heard of the tank battles held there! We may try and go to one at some point to one. I Wil have to get a ton more practice with it to run it well. It takes some getting used to to drive and run the turret at the same time! It would be fun to play tag with them but it is a real blast just being out there and falling back into being 10 years old again and playing GI Joe battling it out with Cobra Commander! LOL! My wife and mom both know how to spoil a guy!
@@AddamsPlayground I am old man and when we were kids my brother and would build forts from red plastic building blocks. We had a bag of plastic soldiers like Toy Story to man our forts. We both had cannons with wooden shells and we would have battles.I think the tanks would be even more fun.
@@michaeldorich4485 I had the plastic army guys too! I also remember getting the paratrooper wit the little plastic parachute! It went badly at times with all the trees around! I had to rescue one or two of them! I also remember having to replace the parachutes with sandwich baggies once they got to torn up!!
@@AddamsPlayground I know you don't need any more projects. I've been watching a TH-cam channel called RC Mojo, He is very precise in his builds and does some different things. Currently, he's using a WPL E1 Tracked Vehicle and making into an FPV vehicle. It has a small bed, like a truck. It comes rtr. It's 1/16 scale. If you have time take look it may give you an idea.

Thank you Richard! I was really impressed with the details and how cool this tank is! All the lights, the sounds, the smoke and all really makes it super cool and fun to run! I don't know if I could have handled all this cool back then! It would have been sensory over load! I am going out to see if I can find some older GI Joes figures to put in there to run around! I have a shop near me that has tons of them and the small action figures are able the perfect size for them! Well the upper half of them are the perfect size! I am going to see if the have any damaged ones with mangled feet and legs so I won't feel bad of chopping them in half!
@@AddamsPlayground haha well you cant chop them up, joe’s never leave a man behind. Think if they are still the original size they should look to scale ? But looks cool either way 😎
@@lo2713 for standing around the tank they would be fine. To ride in the tank I'd have to hack one in half. Occasionally they have damaged ones very cheap.
Thank you Craig! My wife is kind of awesome, I aint gonna lie! Mom is pretty cool too as she got me one as well! I am pretty spoiled if you have not noticed yet! LOL! The tank really impressed me with the level of details and the fit and finish of everything was better than I expected. The look good in the videos but in person it is kind of mind blowing that they can make these for $200!! I HAVE THE SHERMAN BUT MINE IS WEATHERED PAINTED. NOTHING LIKE THE STOCK TANK. EVERYTHING WORKS GREAT AND RUNS WELL TWO YEARS LATER. THERE REALLY A LOT OF FUN.
I will weather mine at some point, they are cool looking stock but with some weathering it will look more natural and used. So far all I have done is paint the commander figures for them. They are really fun to drive and look/sound super cool while out there.
Happy birthday Addam 🎂🥳🎉🎈 Awesome tank looking forward to seeing the other one you and Jack of all trades are making me want to get a tank the 1/35th looks great
Thank you!! I had been looking at them for a while and then around Christmas time I was serious shopping for them. When I saw how much it made Brice smile playing with it I had to get one! I sent a list of 4 or 5 to my wife and told her I wanted one for my birthday so she made it happen and my Mom got me the other. They are super cool and very detailed and for $200 vs the $1000-1500 for a Tamiya it was a no brainer to try one of these first!
Thank you Fred! It was a long one but there was just so much to talk about! That and I may have been a little excited about it!! I was pleasantly surprised with how good it looks and the sounds and the smoke just make it seem so realistic!
Thanks Pete! It was a great day! I am very impressed with the tank and for $200 it was a pretty great deal! I have spent way more on a kit and been way less happy with them in the past. I was pleasantly surprised with how nice they are and driving it really makes you feel like a little kids again!
Thank you!!! I was pleasantly surprised with level of detail and the fit and finish of the tank! It is super great looking and of course the lights, sounds, smoke and firing all make it even that much cooler!! Happy Birthday Addam! What a great birthday gift. These tanks are awesome! I didn't do anything special with mine but still catch myself admiring it as it sits on the bench waiting for its maiden run.
Thank you!!! I had been on the fence for a while about getting one, I have had bad luck with tracked things so far! I started seriously looking and shopping around for the around Christmas time and when I saw you laughing and smiling with the ones you got I was really happy I had asked my wife for one for my birthday! I am very pleasantly surprised at the level of detail and the really nice fit and finish of the whole thing! They do look good sitting there but out running it around and the smoke, the sounds and all just make them super cool!
Thanks Brent! I have been looking at them for a while wondering about if I should try one. I am nicely surprised at the details on them and how much fun they are. I really enjoyed the run and was right back into that 10 year old imagination right away!
🎂 Happy Birthday 🎂 Just when I thought that I wouldn't ever want a tank... between you and another good friend of mine I am starting to reconsider. This rig is so cool.!! Crazy detail.!! And it looks crazy good on video.!! 🤯💪😎
Thank you!! I have been eyeing them for some time now and really started shopping around for them around Christmas time. I was very pleasantly surprised with the fit and finish of it all and I cannot think of another RC you can get for $200 that has this level of detail, lights, sounds, shoots, smokes and has visual special effects to it!!! So far the best place I found to get them is Motion RC, they have a full lineup of them. Make sure if you do decide to get one to get the metal track units I have heard to plastic/rubber tracks pop off fairly easily outdoors.
Happy birthday owd lad from the Uk ..my lads got the tiger one ,but his was the first edition with plastic tracks ,I suppose you can fit the metal, tracks if you can get them as spares .
Thank you!! As far as I know they are the same design and they are just upgrade parts. The drive wheel and the metal tracks make it run much better outdoors and are.much less prone to throwing a track. I am still learning about all the versions and the upgrades they have done over time. Seems like most are upgradable to the metal tracks though.
Thanks Martin! I have been looking at these for a while and was on the fence about them but after getting them I have to say I was very impressed with the level of details, the fit and finish of it out of the box and the amount of fun it is to see and hear it run around! The two I got were $200 each so they are way cheaper than even the cheapest Tamiya kit out there! It will give you that little kid playing with GI Joe all over again!
Thank you Jeremey! 47 has started out pretty good! I have to say they look good on camera but are a whole lot cooler in front of you! I am very pleased with the details and the fit and finish of them! I wish I could have gotten some more on board footage but the battery in the tank died shortly after I swapped it over to the tank! I have plans for some cool cat and mouse filming with them in the future!
Nice detailed overview. I've thought about getting a Heng Long tank and grafting a hardbody from a trail truck on top of it to make like a Mad Max style vehicle. It's one of those back-burner ideas I'm not sure I'll ever get to. Happy birthday.
Thank you! I have already been pondering that same thing! It is not something I am going to jump into but surely is a possibility down the road. I would love to build the Bullet Farmer's tank from Fury Road but that would take some serious WesMade skills with styrene I don't have yet!
I was really surprised to see how well detailed and painted they are out of the box! I was also very happy with how cool everything was once it was up and running. I got completely lost in driving it out there and it certainly took me back to being out there hunting down Cobra Commander with my GI Joes!
@@rc-dom-uk yes, both of them have the metals tracks and drive wheels. I made sure to send my wife the links to those and not the ones with the plastic tracks!

Honestly I had given my wife a list of a few of the tanks I was looking at expecting one but they both bought me one so win-win! @@AddamsPlayground They are! They look great. I might try suggesting a tank present to my wife... so if I disappear, you'll know why. 😬 By the way, my Holiday Buggy is up and running and I'm impressed with the oil shocks (upgraded right from the off on your excellent advice). It's fun! I haven't actually managed to get full throttle yet, but maybe 3S and brushless is a bit much... 🤣
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 LoL, they are fairly inexpensive so you may have to sleep on the couch but I don't think you'll end up in a ditch somewhere! The oil shocks make a huge difference to the performance of the buggy for sure!! 3s brushless has to be one heck of a handful!! 😂
Happy birthday buddy. I haven't jumped into tanks yet but been looking at the Abrams tanks since the real ones are made an hour south of me. That is just way too cool..
Thank you! I like the Abrams as well but it was a good bit more than these so I wanted to try the less expensive ones first and see how I liked them. I am very happy with the fit and finish of them and they lights and sounds just push it over the top for cool factor! Very much makes you a 10 year old again!
Some of These had the Cadillac v8 in them.. the guns were made right here in the quad cities at the Rock Island Arsenal where my mom worked.. super cool
Yeah I think most if not all of them had the Cadillac engines in them. I just can't imagine working with stuff this big and heavy and cramped. I guess big machine mechanics do similar work all day every day but it looks exhausting just to get around in one of them!
Thank you Trey! Yeah that was the big dummy out running it around in shorts in 35 degree weather! I got cold but did not realize I was freezing until after the battery died! I was so caught up in watching it drive around and getting video of it I didn't recognize I was so cold! The smoke looks more realistic outside than in on the bench!
Happy Birthday Addam! These Heng Long tanks are great for the price. Not as good as the Tamiya's but also not nearly as expensive. I have the Heng Long Tiger I and a Sherman. They are a lot fun but keep in mind the smoke element tends to stop working over time. The controllers are also not the greatest. The audio engine controls can be goofy. The parts on the tank break off very easily too. I love firing the plastic BB's and recoil rocking action it does when you fire is so cool! I have several videos of the tanks on my channel. I even mounted cameras on each one and did a tank battle with my daughter.
Yeah I can see that the bits and pieces can get broken or lost over time. I plan on getting a pack of the placement parts to have on hand just in case. I know the older versions had issues with the smoke element but supposedly the newer versions have changed the way they operate to make them last much longer. Time will tell on that though! Firing the tank is so cool! I love the recoil action it has! I would love to have one of the Tamiya tanks but since I can buy 5 or 6 of these for the price of one of those I will get these! That and I already have an idea in my head that would be awesome if I can make it work. It is just the beginning of the idea so I will have to think about it for a while and see if it is worth pursuing.
@@AddamsPlayground yeah the Tamiya tanks were always out of my budget. The tanks are 4-5 years old. The bought refill oil for them as well. They aren't easy to refill either.
@@RDsRCReviews It does seem like it is going to be an adventure in refilling but with the dropper and the little straw for it I think it won't be too bad.
Very grateful for your video. Does the lock symbol button substitute the on & off switch inside the tank and if not so what is the purpose of it Thank you
So the tank on/off switch is turning the power off to the onboard control unit. Once the power switch is turned on the tank is "on' and is waiting for the commands from the controller to "start up'" and all the controls are now active. That "start up" command is the Lock button on the controller which you use to start and stop the tank. Once the lock button is pushed and the tank stops and becomes unresponsive it is still in the on position and listing for the command to start back up. So if you leave the tank powered up it will drain the battery. It is the reason the tank lights flash at you when not "armed" and running so you don't forget to power it off and kill the battery. I hope that helps!
Happy birthday Addam! Yeah, you're right, I am a year or two older than you, I have to admit I sort of lost count, ha ha! Cool one, this one, I used to be crazy about tanks but recent years I'm more of a pacifist, heh... Have a good one there, buddy!
Thank you!!! Yeah, I have to do the math now when people ask me how old I will be!!! I really love the tank and I am not one for war and guns at all but I am fascinated with the evolution of the weaponry and machinery caused by it. I live on an old battlefield from the Civil War here in the state. I had gotten a metal detector to look for bullets and other relics from the war and began to learn about the rapid advancements in stuff throughout the war and that led me to other areas like WW1 and WW2 and all the machinery and contraptions made throughout that time frame as well. I am very impressed with the level of details and all the cool effects that the RC has to make it look super realistic. They really could make a huge splash in the RC world to bring out scale trucks and cars with similar features! Ultra realistic and real exhaust and lights and sounds!! I am sure licensing is probably the biggest reason they have not, it would really jack up the prices!
Great video review of the HengLong Walter Buldog 1/16. Already bought the Leopard 2A6, the Pershing and I do wait for the Walker Buldog that's coming to my home soon. Very good explanation and unboxing video. Thanks. But one thing that I was a bit sorry is the lack of machine gun LED's missing. But I do guess that the real Walker Buldog was not equipped with a frontal one. I will may be looking to install one and connect a small LED on port #5 on the electronic board as described on the electronic board sheet.....10/10 for the video. Thanks
Thanks! I really like these tanks and they are a great buy for the money! The Bulldog did not have a permanent onboard machine gun from what I have seen. All the images I looked at when I built the 1/35 scale model of it only had the top mount 50 cal on them and not fixed guns. I am sure you could mount on to it. I thought about trying to do some fiberoptic lighting to the 50 cal but it would be very tedious and delicate work to do that!! If I had more free time maybe!! I will probably be getting a few more of these eventually, they are too much fun!!
@@tonyromano6220 yes, they are easy to drive and the looks and sounds of it all is a little kids dream come true. The axles squeak and the tracks clatter just right and the sounds and smoke just make it great. Makes you want to get a flock of GI Joe action figures out and go play in the dirt for hours again!!
Happy belated Birthday Addam! What a fantastic birthday gift! Your wife must really really love you😋! Really awesome detail on this. Love that it shoots airsoft bbs, has actual recoil, and realistic smoke ! Man this thing has got to be some serious fun, especially if you got more than one! Take care brother! Thanks for sharing your birthday gift with us! 🎉🎂👊🏼🤩
Thank you Robby! I am very lucky to have a great wife (and mom) that like to spoil me a little, I am good with it! I have no idea how I got so lucky honestly! The tank really surprised me with how detailed and good it looks right out the box. I just assumed it was going to need some paint work and some weathering to make it look goo but it looks fantastic. The lights, sounds, smoke and effects is has really makes it super realistic and so much more fun to drive! I will get out there with them and get more footage of them very soon!
Thank you! I was really surprised at the fit and finish on the tank and the lights and sounds make it super cool! Driving it is just like being inside your own imagination as a kid, it is everything you would have wanted in a toy from when you were a kid!! Older or not the cool thing is we are all still kids at heart! LOL! Take care bud and have a great weekend!
Hi there Addam, have a very happy birthday my good friend, and Mrs (Addam’s Playground) has bought you a lovely birthday gift. A super RC Tank. It looks a great piece of kit. I bet, if your wife is anything like my wife, she probably looked at the Tamiya tanks, and probably had ‘kittens’. 😂.The model looks detailed very well, the paint colour looks to have been done to a high standard. As for your age, not going to give you much ‘sass’ on that, just to say, I’ve more than a year or two on you 😂😂.
Thank you John! I have been eyeing these for a while and also the Tamiya ones. There is no way I could justify buying the Tamiya ones, I could get 5 or 6 of these tanks for the price of one of theirs. I didn't even send her links to the Tamiya ones! She is a saint to put up with me and my stuff but asking for a $1200 tank kit would have ended with a very solid "NO"!!! She does spoil me but she is the one with the guardrails for spending, I certainly don't most times so she keeps me in check. Now my deciding factor is "would she laugh and say no or would she roll her eyes and say just order it?"!! LOL!! I am very impressed with the tank and the details and all the special things it does makes it a ton of fun! I really got lost in driving it around and kept having to focus on filming and stop getting lost in watching the tank! I was like a 10 year old again with fun new toy and my imagination going wild! It was so much fun!
@@AddamsPlayground oh man, we’re so alike, even with our wives 🤔🤣🫣. I’m sure Mrs (Addam’s Playground - used for data protection reasons), is just wonderful and like my wife, having to put up with us grown men, building, painting and playing with our toys, they are saints indeed. All the very best to you all 😊😉
@@JF-RC Very much so! I have no idea how she does it some days!! She just rolls her eyes and gives me the "you are a silly man child" look and then continues to listen to the reason "I need" to order a new kit, parts, paints, etc. and will grant or deny the decision based on the story and how much crap I have gotten lately! She know I love all this so much and she is good at spoiling me!
Been thinking of getting one of these Henlong Tanks to turn into a monster truck tank. Want to get a Tamiya tank as well, but too expensive to make into a Monster Truck.
The thought has already gone through my head as well! I would love to have the Tamiya tanks but they are so wildly expensive for what you get. I am also still pretty bent about the small 1/35 scale RC tank my mom had bought for me over a year ago, that thing was garbage! I think for the money you'd be much better off experimenting with one of these!
@@AddamsPlayground Yeah. The small Tamiya tanks are toys, and the large ones are so expensive you wouldn’t want to mod them. I am thinking about getting the highest level of the the Tiger tank, with the metal tracks, wheels etc, and then looking into fitting a brushless system in it. Gonna order one this week and then see what I could do with it as far as turning it into a monster truck:
@@Triggered-RC They are super cool looking and so memorizing to watch! The thought of a tank truck certainly went through my head when I got mine. I will probably wait until something break off it or or the turret/barrel gets damaged to turn it into something else! Have fun with it!
I heard someone on the Heng Long Forums that they ship with two extra links installed on the tracks but don't mention it in the manual. They said they run better and more reliable by removing a couple links from the tracks to tighten/tension them up a bit. I have yet to remove mine but soon at they do come off sometimes.
I know the plastic tracks get thrown fairly often, I have heard that a few time. I got the version with the metal tracks to try and avoid it. So far so good. Mine seem to be just about right on tension, loose enough to move free and droop a bit like they should but I have not had any issues with them coming off. I only drive mine fairly slowly, the on fast driving is straight line driving to get from one place to the other. Otherwise it just looks and feels better to make the slower deliberate movements just like a big tank would!
Happy Birthday, Addam! That is a seriously cool present from your wife. Can’t wait to see the other tank you got. I wonder if the smoke fluid is the same as the type used in O-gauge model trains. If so, you could try JT’s Mega-Steam scented smoke fluids for fun when running indoors (vanilla, hot chocolate, no scent, etc.). BTW, I just recently found your channel and have been enjoying watching your back catalog of videos. Great stuff!
Thank you! I am not sure what fluid it is, I assume it is something glycerin based as it comes out super quick and is not a bad smelling thing. It would be something to have my tank pumping out some nice vanilla sent! LOL! Thanks for stopping by and checking things out!! Glad to have you here and look forward to chatting with you more in the future!
Hopeing for the Sherman R/C next month for my birthday! Got me the M26 Preshing R/C tank a few months ago And got hooked on R/C tanks! I have over 300 1/35 tanks so these are a step up! Enjoy!
These are really cool and I love them! It was like childhood dreams come true to have one you can drive around with the sounds, the smoke and everything! I just want to sit out there with dozens of GI Joe action figures and be a little kid again!! That is quite a collection of models and I am glad you found these as they are so much fun!!
Happy birthday bro that tank is AWESOME it looks so detailed those fpv shots man your going to have so much with that you have to make a mini battle vid hide some targets hunt them down and shoot them 👊
Thank you!! It is a super cool RC for sure! It is extremely detailed and well painted. I had expected to have to work on repainting it and weathering it before it would look good enough but right out of the box it looks really nice and I am not too worried at all about adding anything or doing anything to them right away at all! I will definitely get out there and do some head to head video with them!
I was looking at that not too long after I got it out of the box!! I was looking around the shop wondering what body would look cool sitting on top of it! It is going to have to be a wide body kit to fit the tank hull well. I'd have to look up the image of the ones that have been done to get a good feel what works and looks good and then see if I could replicate it. I won't be tearing mine part anytime soon, I like them too much as a tank! I am not saying that there wont be a Herbie the tank or something down the road!
They are really cool tanks and you could be a Russian also... I like the T34, it has the cool fuel tanks on the sides and looks really good weathered up some. I need to weather mine up!
I remember the mineral oil smell from the train sets and this smells different. It might be the same, I am sure it has some sort of side effects but I have sat around breathing in far worse over the years! LOL!
@@AddamsPlayground well I correct myself by saying I asked the hobby shop for smoke oil for my tank and they said go to the drugstore and get mineral oil.. what comes in the kit I dunno. Maybe it’s poppy oil and will give you a free buzz from breathing it 🤣🤣🤣
The one in the video is just a scale model I have built. The tank that didn't work right was the Russian T34 1/35 kit by Tamiya. Still the most over priced piece of crap I have ever had! It is still in a drawer in parts, I don't want to even look at it.
Welcome to the world of heng long tanks! Check eBay. I ended up getting the red motors for my m1a2 to make her a lil quicker. They are a blast. Happy bday from a fellow Virginian
Thanks Todd! I have been on the fence for a while and I am pleasantly surprised with how nice they are! Yeah I can see where a bit more speed suits that one well, it is a quick tank! I want one but thought it best to test the waters with a less expensive one! I am sure I will be getting one soon enough! What part of VA are you from?? I am in Spotsylvania.
NO!!! Today is not your birthday! It is MY birthday today! Seriously...you have all the good toys and now you are taking my birthday too?! Sheesh! 😜 Did I know we shared our birthdays??? I think I should have known that. Regardless, how coincidental is that??? Well that video really tanked! 😜 (I could not resist...sorry)
Mine was on the 1st so we are very close together so we can be birthday adjacent!! LOL! Happy Birthday to you!!! I hope you get spoiled for your birthday as well and tanks as always for being here and making me smile!
Happy (very late) Birthday. That is a really cool model, I have always wanted to get one of the Heng Long tanks but it was always something of a lower priority than other stuff. I just watched a video on the Walker Bulldog that was pretty neat. th-cam.com/video/524dl62iroM/w-d-xo.html
Thank you! These tanks are very neat and a great bang for the buck! Both of the ones I got were about $200 from Motion RC and if you do get one make sure it is a professional version at least to get the metal track and at least the drive wheels. From both all of what I have heard and seen from driving them I can see where the plastic tracks could give you troubles. They are very well detailed and will certainly make you smile when you fire it up and the sounds and smoke turn on! It is a "take me back to being a kid" type of RC and I really enjoy them! They look really nice on display as well! Thanks for sharing the video with me, that was really cool. They seemed both really good and really not so great at the same time!
i would sell all them rc cars, why keep them for no reason other than to preserve them for another year, eventually someone will use them, even if its 20 yrs time.
I get it, I used to look at collectors of RC the same way but over time tastes and opinions change. I am in a place in my life I can do this and it makes me happy to collect the cars and trucks I wanted growing up I could not afford and also some other things as well. So let me ask you this, if you were to have the money from selling all these what would you do with it? Keep it in some the bank the bank can make money from yours? Buy something that you are interested in and passionate about? Whatever you would do with it is something that means something to you or makes you happy and content so why crap on someone else when they are spending their hard earned money on something that makes them happy and content??
I know I shouldn't complain but man, some mornings are rough! Gotta pull the choke all the way out and pump the gas before the engine cranks and it takes a long time to build the oil pressure!! 😂 Too many fun nights and crazy stunts as a younger guy, paying the price for them now!!
Awesome! I am glad you enjoyed it! I was just looking at this the other day thinking I really need to get back out with it and have some fun with it!
Happy Birthday Addam, have a great day. I got the Heng Long Tiger years ago and has been slowly upgraded.
Wow 😮, your collection is very good and nice!!! Thanks and congratulations 👏🏼
Thank you! I have checked off a lot of the wish list items from when I was kid! Plus some from being a big kid!! Thanks for stopping by and checking it out!
Loved the video. Thanks for the tips. Just received a few for myself, my son, and some for guests. So far, so good.
Oh man! You all are going to have a full blown battlefield! That sounds super fun!
Oh yes Big Happy Birthday.
Thank you very much!
Happy Birthday Addam!! Another year younger! Great to see some armor! Don't forget to check out Danville tank battles !
Thank you!! I was spoiled a bit and I will be looking into checking out the tank battles down there!!
Great RC Tank, really amazing seeing it in action 😉 I appreciate your visit, too 👍 Cheers
I have that tank with the full metal gearing and treads and it's fantastic. It's very durable and the scale realism is just outstanding.
I have only had it out once so far but it was a blast! I was so caught up in watching the tank and how cool it was I kept tripping over things or dragging the camera on the ground!! LOL! I can see how guys go all in on tanks and accessories! It would easy to find yourself with a bunch of them!

I did really like the on board footage at the end, sadly the battery died in the tank before I got too much of that! I will be doing more video with them I am sure!

Very nice Tank with lots of Metal parts, can this lite Tank compare with big Tanks Like Leopard 2a6 or Challenger in Offroad ?
It is really cool and they seem pretty capable outside running around. I have not tested them too much but for general outdoor running I don't think you will have any issues. Not sure how it would do on really difficult terrain or in the mud but these are more smile makers for me. I need to get them back out and do some more running with them so I get a couple scratches on them so i can start the weathering on them! Figured I would waiting until some gets dinged up and I have to hide it!
Awesome tank. Cool sounds.
The sounds and smoke and the recoil when firing all make it super fun and realistic. It takes me back to the days of GI Joe and Cobra Commander dualling it out in the same yard!
I sold my old version in hopes of getting one of these new versions in the future, i look forward to content on this one and happy birthday!
Thanks Rex! I really like these things! They are soo cool and detailed. I love all the stuff that makes them so realistic and I really got lost out there running it around and I know I had been running it for a while before the battery died but it felt like an instant!

Happy birthday, there great fun ,looks even better if you add some weathering enjoy
You can buy track weather fluid it’s enamel track wash mad by mig. A.Mig-1002
Happy Birthday Addam! Wooooooo tanks!!!!! Looks great man
Thank you Pez!! I have been eyeing these for a while and I am pleasantly surprised at the fit and finish of them. I will be having a lot of fun running them around out here fighting the enemy, all the fatso squirrels that have been eating all my birdseed all winter!! LOL!!

Happy Birthday Buddy! Hope your year is full of success health and happiness. You're wife sounds pretty cool got one myself.
Tanks for the video Addam, Now I want one!!!!!!
They are really cool, you can get lost in all the details, lights, sounds and smoke! It will take you right back to playing with GI Joes!! I was freezing by the time I wrapped up videoing the run and the battery died, I didn't even notice until I was walking it back to the garage!

Happy Birthday Addam! 👍 Wonderful birthday present!
Great video. Thanks. I just got mine 😂👍
Thanks! They are really neat and the sounds and smoke really put them over the top! I really need to get them back out and do another video sometime soon! Have fun with yours!!!
Happy birthday Addam, love the tank. Hope you have an awesome day.
Have two bulldogs..great tank, up grading one of them
They are a cool looking design and a lot of fun to drive around.

Of course they have much more expensive ones but I wanted to try the less expensive ones first. I am very happy with it and it really makes you a 10year old again for the time the battery lasts!
Happy birthday Addam. Very cool tank. I have the Tiger 1. They run well. We ended up getting the metal track version. Tons of detail.

I sent a list of 4 or 5 to my wife and told her I wanted one for my birthday so she made it happen and my Mom got me the other. They are super cool and very detailed and for $200 vs the $1000-1500 for a Tamiya it was a no brainer to try one of these first!
Very cool a lot of information about this and great video addam
Thank you Fred! It was a long one but there was just so much to talk about! That and I may have been a little excited about it!! I was pleasantly surprised with how good it looks and the sounds and the smoke just make it seem so realistic!

Just when I thought that I wouldn't ever want a tank... between you and another good friend of mine I am starting to reconsider.
Happy Birthday! 🎉
I want a tank!
Happy birthday Addam! Welcome to the 47 club!

I had the tiger tank and they are fab fun mate . Two would be a blast 😊👍
I was really surprised to see how well detailed and painted they are out of the box! I was also very happy with how cool everything was once it was up and running. Thank you
Happy Birthday Addam!
Does the lock symbol button substitute the on & off switch inside the tank and if not so what is the purpose of it
Thank you
So the tank on/off switch is turning the power off to the onboard control unit.
@@AddamsPlayground Hi,
Very grateful for you. Thank you for the perfect explanation.
Have a good day
Happy birthday Addam!
I assume you like the way these perform?
@@tonyromano6220 yes, they are easy to drive and the looks and sounds of it all is a little kids dream come true.
LOL!!

@@AddamsPlayground I got my Tiger 1 last weekend… Having so much fun I no longer feel like tearing it apart and making it into a Monster Truck tank. 😂
Good another tank time-track run. 😁
nope
I will definitely get out there and do some head to head video with them!
do you have AirSoft pellets?
yes, it comes with them
I’m actually thinking about getting a blazer body and turning mine into Virginia Beach Beast the tank monster truck from the 80’s
Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear Addam , Happy Birthday to you.
Thank you David! I don't think I have had a singing comment yet so thank you!!!
My neighbor just ordered this tank. That means I'll have to be a krout, lol.
They are really cool tanks and you could be a Russian also... I like the T34, it has the cool fuel tanks on the sides and looks really good weathered up some. I need to weather mine up!
Correction there, the small exhaust is for the auxiliary motor. The large blower on the back of the turret bustle is for removal of interior gasses.
Thank you, that makes more sense! Thanks for adding the correction.
My birthday is also in February I'm 52
TANKS for not adding music while you drove it lol
That's cool we share the same month! You have a couple year on me but I am right behind ya! LOL, you are welcome for no music over the running part!
@@AddamsPlayground do you like how I said tanks instead of thanks
@@nomusicrc yes, quite punny
Smoke oil is just mineral oil like in model trains.
Maybe it’s poppy oil and will give you a free buzz from breathing it 🤣🤣🤣
@@IowaBudgetRCBashers I think it my be glycerin based like vape. Either way I don't plan on smoking myself out with it!
Is the squeakiness always going to happen? Other than that it seems really cool!
@@PhoinexGames. It will always have some squeaking from the tracks. Honestly it is pretty accurate to a real tank, they are incredibly noisy machines!
@@AddamsPlayground Okay, and thanks for the response!
@@PhoinexGames. No problem!
This 35th scale want it isn't the one that screwed up on you is it?
The one in the video is just a scale model I have built. The tank that didn't work right was the Russian T34 1/35 kit by Tamiya. Still the most over priced piece of crap I have ever had! It is still in a drawer in parts, I don't want to even look at it.
Track time run. 😁
no
Welcome to the world of heng long tanks!
@@AddamsPlayground I am up in Sterling
I auto correct. I meant came with a 5000 battery and my next Rc . Got to love smart phones.
No worries! I figured it out!
NO!!! Today is not your birthday! It is MY birthday today! Seriously...you have all the good toys and now you are taking my birthday too?! Sheesh! 😜
Did I know we shared our birthdays??? I think I should have known that. Regardless, how coincidental is that???
Well that video really tanked! 😜
(I could not resist...sorry)
Mine was on the 1st so we are very close together so we can be birthday adjacent!! LOL! Happy Birthday to you!!!
I hope you get spoiled for your birthday as well and tanks as always for being here and making me smile!
@Addam's Playground my birthday is the 3rd, so you know when to send presents next year. 😜
@@canuckchuck8836 Sure thing! 🤪
You can buy model railroad smoke oil that is scented to smell like anything from cinamon rolls to coal smoke
Cinnamon rolls would be a bad thing! My chunky butt would be huffing the exhaust! LOL!
탱크만세
나는이 탱크를 사랑 해요. 그들은 너무 멋져 보인다. 시청 해주셔서 감사합니다! I hope that translated properly! Thanks for watching!
Не плохой парень а метлу рыжую отрастил под носом 😫, пока молод - будь молодым !!!
LOL! Yes the beard is big! It kind of has it's own identity now so I would not know what to do without it.
47 old?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 try 66!
I know I shouldn't complain but man, some mornings are rough! Gotta pull the choke all the way out and pump the gas before the engine cranks and it takes a long time to build the oil pressure!! 😂 Too many fun nights and crazy stunts as a younger guy, paying the price for them now!!
