Not going to lie they need to redo this and make it 100% original lore and setting wise to avoid lawsuits and sell it. This looks good and I'd buy it.

I would agree with you, but Blizzard is so far gone from what they used to be and the management that they used to have that they literally wouldn't know that this is their stuff. Anyone who even tried to explain it to them would likely be told that gamers and games made before 2012 don't matter.
IE: Book of Demons aped blizzard blind and got no push back. Orcs Must Die is cribbed from 90s blizzard concept art, no pushback ext. Rename him "Deckhard Kang" and the town "Dristram" and the principle demon "Diabolus" and your 100 percent in the clear lol.

Love it. If you were able to work out a deal with Blizzard and use the art style of the original Diablo, maybe even the original music, I’d see this every bit of at least a $30 game. Amazing work. Had such a blast! Thank you for making it!!!
This game can sell. way better than a lot of AAA shit we get these days in name of loot box and cosmetics. It was fun to play. Thank you for making and letting us play it.

There's so much potential here! They really need to make this deeper (with their own IP).
Gave this a go. Must say, it was really sad to see one of the heroes go to the graveyard while "Visiting a friend", and her telling the deceased that she's sorry.
Fun concept! I hope the devs decide to flesh out this concept more and make the game mechanics more detailed.

@@hansdampf5486 Yes. The devs will have to change the name and make it legally distinct from Diablo because Blizzard sucks ass now. They can keep the core concept and all, but if they want to monetize, they have to change it up

when I first played Diablo 1 I thought as a kid: yes ok this is not an RTS but I was thinking how cool an RTS would be with the visuals from diablo 1. imagine being a bit more zoomed out so you can see the map better and just building a town like tristram and afterwards units etc to scout and clear the dungeons.. maybe something RPG like warcraft 3 where you control a party of heroes and units + base + ressource management etc. some thoughts!
Apart from that cool game really nice! better than 90% stuff that comes out today which has no soul!!! 9/10
I still play the Tristram theme when I need some focus-music for work. Amazing work. This game DOES hit the nostalgia buttons, but it looks pretty good on its own right as well!
The healer Ehol and the archer Jaerika were the mvp in this gameplay

cacodemon is from the doom franchise. and its a 3 line party system, you kept choosing front and second liners which is why your party size was stuck to 3. at least thats how it looked.
The winged demon in white in the opening might be a reference to Albedo from Overlord. Certainly looks like her (for a grainy sprite).
I get goosebumps when I hear that music with Deckard's voice...

I'm surprised that Blizzard haven't sued this game out of existence.
I believe diablo is trademarked, but tristram isn't. Deckard cain only has sprite similarity and anyone can mimic the voice. Also i think no one will to sue a totally free game, it will backfire badly against social media.

I am going to give it a try. I do agree with a few other commentors, this would be an amazing game if they were able to make it original and expand on it.
Imagine if Blizzard allowed devs to use their IP for small, indy projects like this without straight up being able to steal anything that's created under the lore.
I would love this a full game as well. But even as short game it's great!
Amazing little Game. Doesnt take more like maybe 45 minutes to finish, but it was fun. Would love to see more of it.
Plays like a simple version of 'Majesty 2, A fantasy kingdom Sim' in a good way. Amazed this was done in 72 hours.

Really awesome game. Hope they can reuse the gameplay concepts with an original coat of paint so it can be sold as a standalone game without being sued for its Diablo themes.
i played something like that on android, a few years ago, or maybe even on the pc, not sure, and I've been searching for it unsuccessfully since then. Pretty much the same concept, but you're in charge of the town, and you're outfitting the adventurers, I'd even say you're a blacksmith who equips heroes, and they bring you gold/material from dungeon for crafting, my memory is hazy, but something like that was the concept, I even then think they would hang around in your shop browsing before being sent to dungeon, or maybe you were the mayor/chief of the town. I'd love to find it again, it was fun, but I broke my phone and lost access to it.

These last 2 to 3 weeks I was almost losing my mind trying to remember a game I played in my childhood. No one in the forums I posted were able to find out.
After literally one message to chatGPT and one adjustment to its reply, that wonderful AI found out lmao. Never slept better since these few weeks.
there are 3 titles that do what you describe: swag and sorcery, weapon shop fantasty and dragon cliff. these games are on steam.

Lut Gheulain (sure I spelled that wrong) was the one that always got to me to trip out on it for a while, Tristram was a badass village. Good times.

I wish this game was longer. I liked the art style, and the gameplay a lot. Would have purchased a more fleshed out version of this absolutely.
Love the idea. I used to play a game called Majesty (I think was the name?) - you could not directly control the heroes, but you could level up your fortress and put bounties on monsters. Your game kind of reminds me of that concept. I actually went to Steam to buy this - I hope your team takes this idea and builds upon it. (I'd also stay clear of Blizzard - they would most likely smight you with lawyers of doom).

Magnificently well done for free game made in 72 hours, although it feels like nothing close to Diablo1 at all, i appreciate the fantastic work.

This game was really fun. The fact that they made it in 72 hours. Honestly if they remove Diablo and just focus on this as a Sim I will happily pay for this on Steam.

This is a great concept for a game. It can use some more content beyond this. I finished everything in 5 minutes.

@Idle cub, there was a game like this on Steam years ago. I searched for a while and found it again.
The name -> Swag and Sorcery.
Of course it has mixed reviews because games like this naturally become quite repetitive after hours. Which is relatively normal in my personal opinion.

This is actually sick af. This needs to be a full game, even if it's not a diablo/tristram theme. If it was just Bob's village of idiots. This is amazing and NEEDS to be a full game. Just add a couple more QOL, some additional housing/base upgrades it would sell so well on steam @ $5 - $10
I sat a while and watched. It's a cute little game, sort of a super simplified hybrid between Diablo I and Darkest Dungeon.
My only gripe with this cute little game is the fact, you can't control the parties the way you want them when it comes to swapping or kicking. It really cuts down on the deaths bringing a healer and a tank to the group. Also, never get the captain or the mage, they die way too fast even on S level. The Warrior and Warden hit like trucks. When you get to the Demon Levels, you will get groups of 4 or 5, instead of 3. So recruit more, when a group beats the skeleton king.
It's cool that they got Batman to be the narrator.
This looks like a game called "swag and sorcery" a lot, that game had a lot of potential but it was just abandoned by the creators, this one has all that potential + the diablo theme, with good QoL this game would sell really well, unfortunately it's diable themed so if the devs tried to monetize it, they probably have to pay 10x more money than the game makes to blizzard...

Dude, this was sooooooo my game idea, but I made something else instead =/ In mine you had more ''agendas'' though, like maybe you were SUPPOSED to get certain characters killed when you send them to a dungeon, and also some characters had personality types you had to match too, not just class types.
Have you played Mini Healer?? its not a full auto battler you control the healer and the rest of your party is just AI, its alot of fun, some good boss mechanics plus talents and gear

If you like this, you should try Dungeon Village 2 (there is a one but they are basically the same) from Japanese developer Kairosoft. They are available on ios and android. The concept is similar-ish but the color is more vibrant.

I absolutely loved Majesty back in the day! And I see what you mean, it is somewhat similar because of how every hero has their own will and they do what they want
@@idlecub In Majesty, all you had to do was make things better for the heroes and point them towards threats. It was a lot of fun.
