      Hahah. I do intended to follow this up and see if poly 80 would work with charcoal… so who knows!

    Thank you for taking the time to make this video! This video was the first video in a search a made. I'll stick to making activated charcoal soap.

    Oh my word! Ok, I’m not a professional seller; family & friends only. I have the fantastic humid bath bomb recipe, shower steamer & wonder bar. They are all great. But as a beginner I did a lot of reading/ research … and there were so many recipes re charcoal. I never tried it cos I thought it looked bad. Thank you so much for posting this video.

      SO 👏 MUCH 👏CHARCOAL suggestions out there 🤣… I literally don’t understand it 😭

      @@BathFizzFoam it is very weird, there’s so many, including in what I’d describe as “recipes for beginners” - that would be enough to put anyone off bath bomb making. I love your videos, thank you so much.

    where did you get the plastic for your bath bombs?

    • @BathFizzFoam
      @BathFizzFoam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean the shrink wrap? I use National shrink wrap system, but before that I used individual shrink wrap bags from Two Wild Hares on Etsy

    Oooohhh that is ASS! But at least I didn't have to do it to prove it to my husband that it would be a disaster.

      Hahah! It’s interesting because some people are really adamant that it doesn’t stain for them… but it’s not worth the risk for me 😅

    Wow! Thanks for doing our experiments for us. With this, I’ve confirmed I won’t be using charcoal in mine.
    Now the question is: what did you do with the other charcoal bath bombs you made? 🤣🤣🤣

      Hahah they were tossed in the bin, but I guess they would have made great revenge items if I had a nemesis 🤔 talk about a lost opportunity lol

    Have you ever tried using black cocoa? I've watched a lot of baking and frosting videos and wondered if this would work or be a good idea in a bathbomb to avoid charcoal.

    Just tried making a charcoal bath bomb.. the smell is horrible I don’t understand why there’s this odour.. when you tried the bath bomb in the bath tub was that smell still there?

    • @BathFizzFoam
      @BathFizzFoam  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm. Sometimes bath bombs will have odd smells when you’re making them if you use milk powder, or if the colorant has ultramarines in them. The milk smell goes away and isn’t in the final bath bomb, but the ultramarine smell CAN be in the final bath bomb. I’ve never noticed it with charcoal though but I’ve really only made a few batches with it!

      @@BathFizzFoam thanks for replying I absolutely love your videos💕💕 I used activated charcoal powder and just like you mention in this video around 9:30 about the foul smell when you used it in the bowl.. did the smell go away when you used it in the bath tub?

    my question comes from the poly to oil ratio here... everything I read says a 2:1 poly to oil ratio and that is def more like a 1:2.5 ratio completely backwards. Also wouldn't the poly help with the charcoal if you just didn't add so much even though it wouldn't be as dark

    • @BathFizzFoam
      @BathFizzFoam  ปีที่แล้ว

      If I remember correctly this version didn’t have poly 🤔… lol most free internet recipes don’t include it. I have thought about doing another version of charcoal bombs that used poly, but I still don’t think it would adequately suspend it… since carbon is sooooo stable it’s very difficult to dissolve, it also clumps together and makes it hard to solubilize. Lol lots of things NOT going for carbon as a colorant!

    Every bath bomb I've ever had has left the shmag in the tub? I didn't know they made them that dont! It's the reason I stopped using them. However I need a black one for a photo shoot lol.

    Charcoal removes negative energy, so if your cleansing yourself from negative energy this is good,

    • @BathFizzFoam
      @BathFizzFoam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I would never undermine spiritual practices, so if you’re using it for that purpose I suppose you would need to add a disclaimer that it would stain the tub… I do intended to follow up with adding poly 80 to a charcoal BB and seeing if that helps, but if it were me I would likely choose a different way to cleanse that didn’t stain (just personally ya know!), but I respect that if bath magic is part of your craft you might choose that path. 😊

    It’s so important to understand chemistry. The charcoal sticking like that is usually from already having a bath tub that already had product residue or soap scum. (You even pointed out the prior dirty line, so that checks.) A super easy way to clean a bathtub is to use hot water & then add either dishwasher soap or laundry powder and let it sit for a bit at the appropriate level.
    But seriously, if you can’t just rinse it; you already had something sticking to the bathtub. Think of those tablets that dentists give kids so they understand how to brush their teeth.

    • @BathFizzFoam
      @BathFizzFoam  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nahhhh… that’s gaslighting and we don’t play that here! Properly formulated bath bombs WILL NOT STAIN a tub… doesn’t matter if it’s a clean tub or a dirty tub!
      But to clarify, I didn’t point out that the tub was *dirty*… lol I was pointing out that the tub was STAINED (from previous colorant testing for this channel, lol not from the bath bombs I make and sell!)… stained is not synonymous with dirty… Wine, chocolate, grease-these substances will stain, even if you wash the item, and charcoal is THE SAME… it will stain bath tubs! Particularly older tubs! 😊 But I appreciate your feedback and your engagement!
