“The octopus is not sitting in its room watching TH-cam videos about how to escape” this one got me ⚰️💀
I was surprised I came up with that when I was editing the video 😂
Of course he is!
Who wants the full course module? Let me know by liking/commenting so I know there is interest in the long format. It goes into a lot of tedious detail, which the algo has not favoured in the past. The full module walks you through building your own tentacle system and all the mistakes I see with clients who try to adopt the method.
Please upload. Your goal should not be to 'get enough likes and comments' but to help as many people as you can regardless of what you get in return for helping them.
We want the full course module!
Hey james! your videos are amazing, please upload the course!
Should make a 2 hour course on this concept.
Long-term format is still the most effective in changing people's lives, and that kind of outcome is the only one that matters anyway.
I want the full course
I cannot begin to express how incredibly useful and delightful this video was- *exactly* what my long trauma affected brain can use to help me move through shutdown.
I'm sorry for what you went through, I wish you the best of luck
I've heard many people mention 1 step at a time + don't stop moving, but thinking in one tentacle at a time, gathering info with each tentacle, with the stable + commitment/ progress ends of the spectrum, this feels like an advanced, pro version of the method imma try this today thank you for this 🙏🙏 also, where can I find the resources section?
Hey! Thank you for sharing this. You summarised it perfectly and exactly how I wanted to convey it! I've made resources available in my free community, you can join here, www.skool.com/momentumsociety/about

As an octopus, I can overcome any difficulty, except that one neighboring sponge living in a pineapple house.
Best part of this is that first step ain't jump in the unknown with a potentially harmful action, on the contrary, it's gaining informations quietly in the safest manner possible. That's extremely useful!
I've been knowing to split hard tasks in small steps for ages. But I considered information gathering as a prequel to action, like sunk time, and yet no action. And that increased paralysis for the first real action after information gathering: i put efforts in, but didn't start yet. With this video i can now consider information gathering as first steps already done and just keep moving. That's fantastic!
Always moving gathering data with minimal risk. I like it!
You summarised it perfectly! I'm glad you took that away, hope it helps you! 🙏 😊
Love the way you put things in terms of metaphors - really helps to visualize and internalize the ideas
Thank you for saying this! I'm glad you like it
This is actually truly helpful advice and so concise yet descriptive
i really like your analogies, they help me remeber what I am trying to do, first the airplanes and now this, thanks
I'm pleased you find my analogies helpful!
i have my first tentacles in 8 areas and stretch thin
This is golden. I subscribed!
Brilliant video, thanks so much for making it. Just the right approach for me.
You're welcome! and thank you for your kind words and support!
My good sir, you've just earned yourself a new subscriber. :)
Thank you, your support is much appreciated!
This is very similar to a process I've made, Summed up: Figure things out by doing a smaller portion of it first, then scale up based on what happens.
You're the only person I found, who talks about this engineering principle as a life principle.
People are really really stupid when it comes to these things, for some reason. Maybe they hate making their life better or something, idk.
Great video!
Thank you!
brilliant
Can you make your best book recommendation video? Self-development stuff and about achieving goals
Good question. yes i'll do that. There's a lot of books on useful topics but many overlap with each other wasting time.
Hey James, really nice video! I was wondering if i can help you edit your videos and also make highly engaging shorts out of them.
any update?
@@Keyur904 i think reaching him via email might be a better idea
Is there a link to the worksheet?
Hey! It was exclusive to the paid course but I've now made this one available to everyone in my free community, link here: www.skool.com/momentumsociety/about (there are some entry questions)
What if you're not an octopus? What if there is a shark in the tank? What if Fran is unemployed and has bills to pay? In most real life situations there is no space or time for safe exploration.
Right, that's not really what he's talking about, right? He's specifically discussing "how do I move from stable position to stable position". I'm sure he might have other videos, or there might be other videos answering this question, but it's a very different conversation. In the example he chose, Fran _is_ employed in a corporate role, which is why this tool is useful.
haha love your videos
Thank you for your support!

He is so bossy hahahahaha it’s not bad, it’s funny almost? Like “I permit you (to go watch some octopus videos)” and “I’ll tell you how long you should take and how quickly things go” like damnnnn okayyy hahaha I mean I understand he’s prolly trying to help the extreme slow procrastination type people? But this is just 😂😂😂
I know this might not be the intended audience...but im a trans woman, and this really well summarises and explains how im thinking of my transition, small, safe steps with trusted friends and in private, gathering data on how to do it all, how to be safe, how to move and look more authentically, without exposing myself until i can build more confidence in myself. Its nice to have a system to think through these things
good luck ✌️
Mum: how was your day today?
Me: I've learned to think like an octopus
Mum:
You tell her! 😃
Most important: have a social network to tap in. Because without one it's hard to gather actual hands-on data - too much contradicting misinformation on the internet.
Doesn't have one? Oh, too bad!
But what is dangerous ?
Oh mb i didn’t finish when i said that
Great video
Thank you!
