I am playing this song in my church next weekend. Multitracks has 9 electrics!! So thanks for narrowing it down to one. Great lesson for an intermediate EG player
Well done Bri! Because the song is in C Major, you are actually using the C Major Pentatonic which is the same notes as the A minor pentatonic you just resolve on the root C or the 3rd E
I played this today, 2nd verse I only did the little fill at the end of each line and it worked nicely, added a dynamic layer too. I felt like headbanging at the beginning of the last two choruses, that octave part is powerful.
We're playing this for the first time Sunday. As the only electric guitarist, I always have to pick and choose which parts to play on Wickham's songs, since he usually has a half dozen layered! We are playing it in C.
So helpful! I appreciate the care and work this took to assemble. I have one recommendation: would you consider adding a chord or tab diagram for clarity for intermediate players like me? This is fantastic stuff.
Thank you for making these patches for the FM3. Just picked up this and a few others from your store. Hoping you'll continue to develop the library for song presets for FM3!
Hi Brian, I enjoy watching WT, I have been playing along with my acoustic guitar with some of your tutorials. I really love this song by Phil Wickham. I like your breakdown of the lead guitar for this song. I have an old electric guitar ,but I don't have an amp. I see ads about positive Grid's Spark amp. what would be your thoughts on this amp ? would it work with some of your backing tracks. Thanks for all you guys do at WT.
I don’t have one but yeah they are a good practice amp. I would look into a better amp for live imo. Unless your church (like a lot of other churches) uses D.I. Boxes
Thanks for this. Only thing that might have been better is if the guitar had been amplified during the lick demo/tutotial portion. It was kind of hard to hear.
Thanks so much for breaking down like this to explain the concepts! I’ve played this a few times at our church but I think I’ll steal some of your lines next time :) Can you do a “throne room” tutorial? (Kari Jobe)
I play it the same way in different positions (also in Db). I learned it by ear, but wanted to watch to see where I was at comparatively. Your way is probably easier, but I'm not re-learning it now. 🤣
Nice job on the tutorials guys. I really have enjoyed listening to your Axe Fx 3 tones on your videos . I am currently on the waiting list for the Neural Quad Cortex and should be receiving it fairly soon. I am thinking about picking up an Axe Fx 3 for home use and maybe for use in church as well. There seems to be a few complaints about the Cygnus firmware and the class A amp tones. Are you having issues dialing in these amps with the new firmware?
Thanks Dean! We've actually just finished updating all our presets for the Cygnus firmware. It's a marked improvement in our opinion. Class-A amps included. In fact, this tutorial was done with Cygnus FW using our Match DC30 preset. The gain structure with Class-A amps changed a bit, so basically those amps have more gain now at the same settings as FW 15.00. But now they match how I actually set up my AC30 and Tyler HM30 (DC30 clone), so they're more accurate. You just have to dial it back a bit to get the same gain structure as before. I'd highly recommend the Axe-FX III. It's what I use the most live, and I'm not planning to make any changes :).
Hey guys, could you please make a cover and tutorial (acoustic and/or electric guitar) of the song "House of the Lord" by Phil Wickham please? By the way, Bradford wasn't first this time 😁
I'm auditioning for rhythm guitar for my church band, I want to learn a few songs just to get a head a little, I'm getting confused with what parts I would specifically play in this song as a rhythm guitarist
nice! we need tutorials to adapt helix floor to helix lt users plizzzzzzzzzzzz. also global settings.. but patch/ snapchots.. diferent variations. and why to use each kind of setting
Helix floor and Helix LT are almost the exact same thing. There’s really nothing to adapt. And we have made a video going over all our preferences and global settings. You can find it in the Helix playlist.
There's really nothing to adapt for the LT. He's not using 10 stomps for this song, only snapshots which the LT utilizes. The only difference is the scribble strips, 10 stomp vs 8 stomp and more I/O options.
Thanks! The ads are Google/TH-cam. We can’t really control it. In fact, with song covers we don’t even have an option of turning them off since the music is copyrighted.
Would anyone have tips on how to get a good sound out of the chords in the intro and turnaround? I am getting a lot of muted strings that sound terrible lol
Dude just play it in Db like Phil Wickman plays it it, it would be much better, i prefer to play in the original key, not change it all up like your doing 🤦♂️

We are playing it this Sunday in B, very glad I found this so I don’t bounce between the 9 different parts on Services 😂
this is exactly the type of content that keeps me on you tube,,, thank you so much
I appreciate this so much. I’ve recently kind of transitioned from rhythm to some
Lead guitar at my church and this is so helpful. Thanks so much!
Lot of takeaways here, and this song isn’t even in our setlist. Well done, man!
Where was this video 2 months ago when I needed it lol 😂
Ha sorry!
@@worshiptutorials any chance house of the lord is coming soon?
ditto
Thank you 🙏🏻 for all your hard work you have helped so much
Thanks Brian, great tutorial, esp for single guitar. All the important bits. We'll be doing it in E.
That is one gorgeous PRS
Here for the PRS
I love the tutorial of this song ❤I look forward 2 more

Excellent!
We’re doing it first time this week in G. Fun!
This is so helpful! Love it
Thank you for your Videos !
I was hoping to hear how you played the live version that you played during your Live MD video! You were really getting after that chorus! Great job!
That prs is so sick
You are so good thank you for your amazing teaching ❤😂

Thanks for this video, I’m using it for prep this week.

When speaking, I'm reminded of the matterhorn operator "i can't hear you" regarding the silent guitar

"It's...a little...not...very clean..." 😂 Thanks for the tutorial, man! Helpful!. I have to play it in key of F next week.

How about mixing in some D dorian if want something out of the box? Thanks Brian!

I typically don’t chime in with that if I’m not in the video 😉

I was gonna like this but it’s at 777 likes 😄I ain’t messing with that

Will the fractal patch work with Axe8 ?
Would anyone have tips on how to get a good sound out of the chords in the intro and turnaround? I am getting a lot of muted strings that sound terrible lol
Don't hit them, lol. Just play the octave. He wasn't saying that's how you do it, just that you only play two strings.
How do we mute all the other strings for the intro?
It’s actually a C major pentatonic, not a minor right? Same scale I know, but technically it’s C.
You should just turn on the amp/DI in the how to play segments. Can barely hear the acoustic sound of the electric.
C Major scale. first position. Not, Am pentatonic
Nothing much just a freaking PRS
Why do you keep referring to the song in the relative minor key why not just call the key of c major?
5:03
I made it to 15 minute mark and then bailed...
10min mark … it’s a 8 on B not G.
You No smoking!?
Dude just play it in Db like Phil Wickman plays it it, it would be much better, i prefer to play in the original key, not change it all up like your doing 🤦♂️
Just makes it easier to play. A lot of churches don’t do it in Db
