Battle Belongs by Phil Wickham. Great song! This gives us a really great opportunity to discuss God’s sovereignty. Why does the battle belong to God? Because he has purposed the end from the beginning! He is sovereign over all. Unlike the false teachings that say “God is in charge, he is not in control”, the BIBLE teaches that God, from the beginning, has purposed all things. This is such a foundational truth for believers! Amp tones are my GFHG30 (2002 AC30) and Matchless Chieftain profiles. Strymon Lifetime Pack owners received presets for these songs today as well! These are available at guitarforhisglory.com/shop. #soluschristus #solideogloria Playthrough on TH-cam. I love that you preach during your demos. People get so locked into tone and parts and gear. Such a fun distraction, but a distraction nonetheless. Thanks for making things easy to learn and a focus on the Savior.
So much yes to this comment. I came here to say the same. Thanks for excellence in both guitar and being a committed follower and messenger of our amazing God, Troy.
your probably don't even know that Jamie Owens Collins wrote a song that was really popular in the church named "The Battle Belongs To The Lord" and I used to include it in my worship list whenever I've had a hard week It had words like "When the enemy presses in hard do not fear The Battle Belongs To The Lord" everyone should give it a listen. In the mean time this is a great song and I thank you for your talent and hard work bringing this to us. Don't be weary while doing good things for our lord Jesus. God Bless You my brother
First off, thank you for all the tutorials, tips, etc... you've given over the years. I just entered my third year of playing guitar. I was asked to play lead guitar (and the only electric guitar player, period) at church about a year ago, so you can imagine the learning curve I've had to embark on, lol! But, I am determined, I will glorify the Lord playing guitar. You've helped me these last couple of years, so thank you Troy! BTW, we are neighbors, I'm down I-69 in Port Huron.
I'm the only electric guitarist in our Worship Band and definitely have to use a hybrid approach to playing Wickham's songs. We try and limit the amount of loops we use. We have two Nords, so they can pick up some of the slack.
Hey Troy, how come you don't make the Helix patch when you make a new song using your pedals or Kemper? I have the Kitchen Sink but we need those new songs too. Blessings.
Only so much time in the day, brother. I have a career in addition to GfHG, so time is scarce sometimes. I’ll get to this one eventually. I made the Kemper preset last week. Maybe I’ll find time for the Helix preset this week! 😃
@@GuitarforHISGlory Thank you my friend. Your presets beat others I have found so it’s hard to buy theirs but I can’t control when the church wants to play the songs.
Please don't be offended, but are you acquiring the charts, parts, stems for these songs from the publisher or players, or are you picking it out by ear? How do we *know* that these parts are correct, the actual parts played on the recording, & not just your interpretation of what you think/hear is being played?
I’m not offended. For the majority of the songs, I analyze the stems and then combine the parts (as I typically explain in the video intro) into a part that works well for one lead guitar player. To answer your question regarding if it’s my interpretation: Of course it’s my interpretation. My mantra is this: If it sounds right, it’s right. I never make claims that these are EXACTLY what [insert name here] played, down to the finger positions and effects, so please understand: You can’t KNOW that what I’m doing is exact, because I never make that claim. Hope that helps you better understand! 😃
What u speak is great! But i think having a tattoo on the limbs is wrong because the bible says ," your body is a temple of God and God will destroy any man you defileth his temple (including tattoos)!!

Your instruction and playing is always spot on, but whats better is your heart for God and for true worship.
Thanks for the kind words, Craig. 👍🏻

As a metal guy, I never would have imagined the amount of tone snobbiness from these worship guitarists.
Thank you so much for making this track so clear and uplifting for the glory of the Lord.
Amen, brother. Praise Him who is sovereign over all! 📖❤️
This it Troy! Sounds huge and a great word!

You're very kind. God is so good to give us any earthly blessings. If salvation through Christ alone and adoption weren't already enough!

That’s why the channel exists in the first place! Praise God! Be well, my brother. 😃
Been waiting for this one! Super helpful 👍🏻
Glad it was helpful!
Been following you for awhile now and have seen the trend toward reformed theology and the importance you put on scripture. Keep it up man!

Sounds as if you may want to study what Law we are under as Christians.
