He once said something to the effect that double bass pedals was Carmine's thing. Vinnie wanted to set himself apart. Though, in his drum solo in Heaven and Hell, Live at Radio City Music Hall, he's clearly using a Duallist.
Great.Love it.Some drum solos are technically brilliant but sound just boring,but this is awesome.He just makes it look so easy.Check out Ronnie Tutt too.Killer drummer,especially Elvis drummer 76 solo.

I love Vinnie's drumming, he was my first drum hero when I started drumming in 1983 and I still love his drumming as much as I did then!

othing beats his old Slingerland kit with Zildjian cymbals. That old Rock Ride 21' - to heavy to even play. Had a few myself.

Love what you do Vinny but as a drummer myself please bring back the 13 and 14 inch rack Tom's something is definitely missing as far as tonal depth
i dont think it is fair to say that this guy is old school; i guess he has far better touche than other drummers mentioned.
