Hi, Im sorry. I will start from the beginning. To make the equivalent of selfraising flour using allpurpose flour, add 2 tsp of baking powder for each 150g of all purpose flour. So can you add 3 tsp of baking flour totally for 150g all purpose flour for this matcha muffin recipe.
Perhaps a 'flax' egg... ground flaxseed used as a substitute for egg in baking. 1 Tablespoon ground flaxseed to about 3 Tablespoons of water.. mix and let it sit for a few minutes.
I used all purpose flour with baking powder as you suggested but it ended up tasting a bit bitter from too much baking powder and also when I mix the batter it was too dry, I'm not sure if the ratio is correct. I used scale to measure everything. I had to add more milk and one more egg to make it into regular muffin batter consistency. This recipe is definitely a failure.
Hi, I'm sorry your Matcha Muffins didn't turn out well. The bitter taste might come from the matcha powder as matcha does have a bitter flavour - it's always advisable to use a good grade of matcha powder. You add less matcha powder if yours overly bitter (or add a little more sugar to your taste?) Hope that helps you.
Perfect snack for studying!
Thank you!!!
Hi if i use all purpose flour how much baking powder should i use?
But in your recipe it stated 1 tsp of baking powder, not 1 tbsp

Is it possible without egg ?
Hi Patricia - I'm not sure - I've never made these without using egg. If you try it, I'd really like to know the result!

What is matcha powder ? Can we make at home ?
Matcha powder is green tea powder. Can you buy a green tea powder there?

@@kurumicooksJapanesehomecooking thanks for your response but it was the excess baking powder. We eat matcha regularly and are used to the taste.
