    I have a question that's been bothering me ever since that first explosive BBC Question Time interview. The panel asked Laurence what he thinks about Megan and Harry. He answered. Lady in the audience didn't like his answer. She didn't agree with his answer. It's only THEN that she attacks him as a "white privileged male". My question is, if she feels that "white privileged males" have no right to weigh in on the Megan/Harry debate, then why didn't she stand up and object to him being asked his opinion BEFORE he gave it? Why didn't she stand up beforehand and announce to the panel, "By the way, if you're going to turn the discussion to Harry and Megan, please don't ask for the opinions of any white privileged males on the panel as their voices don't count"? Why wait until she knows what Laurence's response to the question will be? She waited until she heard his answer and THEN objected. Seems to me that if he had expressed absolute solidarity with Megan/Harry, she would not have been the LEAST bit bothered about his status as a "white privileged male". She would have kept quiet. She would have been happy. Strikes me as shockingly disingenuous.

    • @Raph1805
      @Raph1805 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      That's the whole point: being disingenuous.
      And saying what you suggest she should have said would have been bad strategy for her, too frontal. It's much better to wait and THEN trap the speaker in a closed circle of guilt through the use of keywords such as "racist", "white", "male", "privilege", "systemic xyz" etc. Once these labels have been given, debate is over, the speaker is disqualified and morally excommunicated, and his speech becomes irrelevant by default, which is the point of the woke strategy.

The theory is that it's not the Christian or Muslim religion and it can't be the Catholic religion for many reasons so a new religion has to be born prior to the second coming of Christ.

    Brilliant interview! I am reminded of the German film, "Mephisto", " film based on the novel of the same title by Klaus Mann. Directed by István Szabó, produced by Manfred Durniok, with a screenplay written by Péter Dobai and Szabó, Mephisto follows a German stage actor who finds unexpected success and mixed blessings (think Nazi racism, and its brand of cancel culture of the time,. and its relentless, mandatory virtue signalling, within the acting guild of the time) in the popularity of his performance in a Faustian play as the Nazis take power in pre-WWII Germany." (From Wikipedia). Very appropriate that the Danube Institute is based in Budapest considering the authors pedigree. Nagyszerű! Keep up the good fight Mr. Fox!

I am very interested in conservative thought, but how is it that 1. the people who are actually responsible for the mess we're in are never correctly identified and 2. people prevented from receiving proper schooling because their ignorance is useful and profitable are always looked at with derision? Also, what do peoples of Eastern Europe have to do with American mismanagement of their own affairs? Finally, how are we in a situation where we are looking to thespians for answers to our questions?

I am a lawyer and speak with some experience. You should take charge in particular of the issues that counsel put to the court, and that no bolt holes are left for the judge to take. Counsel and judges are all human, and if they can take and if they can do so and produce a respectable conclusion they’ll sometimes do so.

    This is the most cogent discussion of cancel culture I have ever heard. About a decade ago I read The Red Flag: A History of Communism. At the very beginnning of the book the author states that, "Communism is the gospel of man." I think that woke religeon in the West, is grooming us for communism. Which ironically Putin hasnt figured out yet as he continues to disparage it, but the leader of China has with the implimentation of Tik Tok for the U.S. Tik tok algorithms and content are very different in China, because they aware of its ability to program people. It shows a lot of educational and kid friendly content. I dont think the words in this video about wokeism destroying democracy are too severe. There is a real danger here.

    Decolonize music? So - remove ALL foreign influences? I guess we'll all be using only drum circles and vocals? I mean - Britain has had a MASSIVE list of influences on its local music - how far back to we go?!

    I find it is very funny that obnoxious people who hold very unpopular opinions are crying because the public is saying to them "shut up".
    Freedom of speech is about the government not repressing speech.
    If one offends large groups in their culture, they can't just turn around and say that they are being persecuted.
    The government has no right to shut you up: however, your fellow citizens have no restrictions on calling you out for being wrong.
