      I'm a programmer. Life here is good but prepare for stress and overtime, it's not all fun and games unfortunately. Get at least JLPT N4 before you come else you will be at a huge disadvantage, and commit to long term Japanese studies. But if you just wanna teach English then you can get by with a lower level of proficiency.

    Having been there several times myself. It is my city of choice over Tokyo any day. If you're looking for the complete Metropolis package. Then maybe Tokyo would be the better choice. But for music, the arts, nightlife, food, people, culture, & and overall experience of Japan. Definitely wins my vote hands down. Great series keep them coming. :b

    I must admit, I always like Osaka more than Tokyo. It feels more Japanese, and more genuine. It is almost like a combination of Chicago-New Orleans-Seattle, Compared to the New York-Washington that is Tokyo.

    • @lalakuma9
      @lalakuma9 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Except Chicago and New Orleans are less friendly to racial minorities compared to New York. New York and Tokyo have more people coming from everywhere in the country/world, so people are more open-minded in general.

    • @BM-ir4lh
      @BM-ir4lh 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lalakuma9 Yeah, that's WILDLY inaccurate. New Orleans has always been very open, even when the rest of LA/South weren't. And Chicago is no different than NYC. And NYC isn't terribly tolerant either, especially native NY's.

    I've been traveling Japan as well, staying in Toyko and Osaka. What this dude sais at 16:56 is absolutely true. In Toyko don't show any emotions compared to the people in Osaka. Truly heartwarming to stay there. Way less tourists than in Kyoto, cheaper and better food and the people are so friendly.

    Just came across this in 2019. Visited Osaka for the first time last December. Here now for the 4th time since. Plan to be back many more this year. Simply an incredible town. Happy to not stop by Tokyo soon again unless for work or friends. Osaka has it all.

    I've been to Osaka last may, compared to the clean and modern Tokyo it seems a bit dirty, dilapidated and gritty. But it's all about the people, they make that city. They seem to be more outgoing and friendly in Osaka. I really liked it there.

    Beautifully edited and scripted! This was very well put together and really highlights everything that the beautiful city of Osaka has to offer. I visited a few places in Japan on my last trip and I have to say I really did enjoy Osaka. It was a more laid back version of Tokyo with the perfect dosage of hustle and bustle. Loved it so much will be going back in the fall LOL. It's safe to say Osaka stole my heart!

    Can anyone point me in the right direction of that business card (Meishi) printer shop? I’m literally in the Nishinari Ward at this very moment, having walked around for 30 minutes looking for this place. I also asked two very nice ladies at the Nishinari Ward office building desk to help me out, with no success. All google searches in English and Japanese yielded no results either. Thanks in advance! Really hoping to buy these for a gift for myself and someone else as well.
