YOU ARE MY HERO! When my print failed last night my heart filled with despair. This morning, my knight in shining armor taught me the ways of unclogging. Now I'm so happy. I can't stop clogging! I'll have to make some children and name them after you. Thank you.
Can't believe there's no love button on this one! Major project delay cuz the filament wouldn't feed and your video just saved my backside!!! Thank you soooooo much for this one!!!!!!!!!!!!
After a long day of IT work, i realllly didnt want to tackle something new. Fortunately this video led me to the promised land in quick fashion. Thanks!
Ugh! I started taking screws out and then thought I should just check TH-cam and your last option with the lever on the left fixed my problem in .5 seconds. Sending hugs and a big thanks! 😭😭😭
Thanks for the very useful video. Although I’m not new to 3D printing, the A1 mini is new to me & I’m a bit scared going in ham-handed & busting something. Lol
Don't be, I'm trying to cover the most common issues on this channel as it is a fantastic printer and easy to work on if you have a good guide to use. :)
Thanks for releasing this video! I only got my A1 Mini last week, so haven't had much of a chance to do too much printing with it yet! 😧 However, I have a folder in TH-cam where I am saving all the videos regarding the actual use and servicing of my A1 Mini! Thanks once again! 👍
Thank you so much for this video. I was researching what the heck was wrong with my printer. I am new to printing so I had no idea and this is my first Bambu. Thank you for helping us in the community .
I didn’t even have to do a cold pole, I was just watching this because I’m in the habit of doing regular maintenance on my A1 mini. I’m happy I watched this. It was really comprehensive. I’m actually going to download it in case I ever need to reference it in the future
Such great videos Tom! This is what we (the novices) need - someone who is prepared to dive into the problem areas and help us to be better printers. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the help. Day 1 clog with a brand new 3D printer had me super frustrated. Your tutorial on clog removal was awesome. Easy to follow , step by step is exactly what I needed. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hey there, thank you SOOO MUCH, im a 3d printer newbie, and got scared AF when it got clogged only 1 week after i bought it, and u saved me, thank you.
This video is great. Went at a great speed and covered everything if needed too. Thank you for making this. I’ve had my mini for a few months now and haven’t needed this video untill now 🎉
Thanks for the video. One day of use and i had a jam in the nozzle and this solved my issue. I chipped a tiny bit of the heatsink before i decided to use angled tweezers since i didn’t have the same tools but it’s working fine now after doing a cold pull.
I usually only do them if I encounter a clog (which is almost never when using Hatchbox of Sunlu META.) If I was going to do them as a preventative measure maybe every 5-6 weeks of regular printing, at most.)
@@Tombof3DPrintedHorrors Thanks for your response. With the ease of use of this printer my children have definitely increased their usage, even my 9 year old feels comfortable finding a print on the app, swapping the filament and printing to her heart's content. Thanks for all your videos over the years and designs.
I wish someone had told me how to remove the front cover properly (before me watching this video) I broke one of the tabs off from prying it off every time 🤦♂
you helped me a tonne thankyou! had my first problems with my A1 mini , must of been clogged extruder or stuck filment, after watching this video its back to printing beautifully, thanks for the clear instructions, keep up everything your doing!
Just had my first clog on my A1, damn this thing is so much easier to fix than my prusas lol. Great Video, love the printer care videos you do, now I just need my new A1 bed lol
Wow that was one of the best how to videos I have ever watched. The editing was great, sound levels were great and the information was presented in a concise manor. With no BS.

Super helpful guide. Got me back up and running very quickly!
I just got the A1 and I just wanted to learn this before this jamming happen. I am sure in the near future it will happen to my machine lol. Thanks for the video :)
Hello, another incredibly useful video. I've noticed the PTFE tubes are really stuck in, can't seem to get them out, is it okay to be forcing the print head down into the print bed to try and remove it? I'm afraid of putting too much downward pressure on the machine. In any case I was able to unclog it using a piece of filament and feeding it through after just pulling out the housing that the tubes fit into.
Thank you for this! I had a hugely clogged nozzle thanks to PLA Matte so went a step further and heated the nozzle to 270 and manually pushed some petg hf filament through till it emptied whatever was stuck in there. Fixed it 🥳
Hi friend, thank you very much for uploading this guide. When I get home, I will try it out. My A1 Mini arrived three days ago, and I have been doing multicolor prints. Today, while printing, it started making a clicking sound during retractions, which I didn't hear in my first prints. Could it be because the extruder is clogged? Thanks a lot and best regards.
OMG.. Thank you so much.. I had a piece of fliament break off somewhere inside, and the Wiki for clearing the exruder is the steps for replacing the whole toolhead.. so I started taking screw out ect.. soon as I took the screws out for the AMS hub and lifted it up the broken piece fell out.. If I had found this before hand, I could have just lifted the hub part out, and pushed something through to push that broken piece out.. Next time I will know how to fix it without all the extra steps.
Very helpful. Thank you! On the Bambu site they recommend a different method for the cold pull. I tried theirs before seeing your video, and I felt like theirs was more effective in getting the nozzle clog out, specifically because they recommend extruding some first, then cooling the nozzle to 100, and then doing the cold pull. Any thoughts?
Helpful video. If i pushed the spare bit of filament down where the AMS hub was taken off, and pulled the lever on the left. of the Extruder Gear Disengage lever. Next got it to come out the end of the nozzle clearing the plug.
hello i got my a1 mini when they hit the market and i have got the hotend to heat up one time in maintance mode . i did exactly as you just did every time.
Ok so i have a long piece of filament stuck in the extruder, i tried pulling It out but It won't budget, do i have to buy a new extruder? The plastic One with a spring and a magnetic lever
I have seen several of these videos that show using pliers on a piece of filiment that is above the extruder. My filement piece is below the top of the extruder, thus nothing to grab. How then do I pull it out?
Hi! I just tried to do a cold pull, but accidentally broke off the top part of the filament that was sticking out, and now i can't pull it out anymore, what is the best thing i can do right now?
Hi, i am new with a1 mini, and i have several models that cause the hotend clog, on the same layer... why did this happen and how can it be avoided? Thanks for any advice.
Cheap filament, temps too low for the speed being printed at, design issue with the model, blockage on the Z screw hindering movement and causing a flow backup...
hey there, so my extruder is still showing the green dot like something is still in there, i followed all of your steps and its still showing the green dot and wont let me load in any new filament as it wants to keep trying to remove the old filament any ideas?
Great video! It helps noobs like me to solve a simple problem that looks catastrophic when you have no idea of what is going on in your third day of 3D printing 😂
Thank you very much. I just got a A1 mini and all your videos help a novice like me.

I had my first broken filament in the boden tube on the A1MINI with ams .
Your video was a lifesaver, Thanks a million
Another stellar tutorial, Tom. You do a great job making maintenance on the Bambu A1s easy and surprise-free.
Thank you so much! Was banging my head against a wall trying to load new filament and this totally fixed it. Blockage removed

Do you have a suggestion of frequency of cold pulls for preventative maintenance?
I usually only do them if I encounter a clog (which is almost never when using Hatchbox of Sunlu META.) If I was going to do them as a preventative measure maybe every 5-6 weeks of regular printing, at most.)

This video came at the perfect time! I just bought a .2mm nozzel to try your mini profiles, and I got a jam right away.
Be careful what filaments you run through the .2 nozzle, so far only Sunlu PLA META and Hatchbox PLA have been free of any clogs for us here.
I wish someone had told me how to remove the front cover properly (before me watching this video) I broke one of the tabs off from prying it off every time 🤦♂

you just saved me from a nervous breakdown!! thank you so much!!!

Super easy to follow along with. New to the A1 mini, used to maintaining and using the X1C. This made it very easy to get back to printing.

Possibly, that would definitely be the top of my list.
Thank you so much. I literally just got mine, printed the test print and got a jam immediately. Hoping this doesn’t become a normal problem.
What brand filament were you using and what temp?

I totally agree with all the positive comments, this solved a problem for someone new to this technology!!😄
Have you ever cleaned the extruder gears?
Do you use 0.2mm nozzle? If so, do you notice quality over a 0.4mm one?
Great video. Direct and easy to follow. Thanks for the help!

Thank you Very Much for the tutorial! Your instructions made it work again!
Your explanation is very clear.
Thanks for the video! For hatchbox pla, do you use the generic pla setting or the bamboo pla setting?
Use my FDG PLA settings, they work for Sunlu PLA Meta and Hatchbox.

The tape from the end of a line of filament had been dragged all the way into the housing without me realising.
