    for scatterplot formatting how is selected working to get average

    • @AmitChandak
      @AmitChandak  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It seems like you are discussing the color measure. In this case, each point on the scatter plot represents a row, which in turn represents a city and provides a row-specific value. To calculate the overall average, we need an overall total or average. This can be done by using either the "all" or "allselected" functions in the measure. We prefer to use the "allselected" function because it allows us to ignore the row context without removing the filter context.
      What is the difference between all and allselected in dax/power bi? - th-cam.com/video/FTpc5IdT0Og/w-d-xo.html

    SIR,why we did LEN([CITY])+1 at 06:09:52 ,why we r adding 1?

    • @AmitChandak
      @AmitChandak  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For city names without spaces, the function will return the value of the fourth parameter during a search. Typically, we use 0 as the fourth parameter. However, in this scenario, we want to return the length of the city name.
      Now, if there is a white space in a city name, such as "New York," the function will return 4. However, we only want to return 3 characters, as we don't want the white space at the end of the first name. In other words, we need to subtract 1.
      However, this subtraction of -1 will affect city names without spaces, as it would reduce the character count by 1. That's why we added one to the length of the city name when there are no spaces.

    Sir,
    what is the diffrenece between trailing year and LYTD.
    when i am adding them separtely on card the value for LYTD is lesser than the value of trailing year. what is the reason behind it... i am not able to understand.
    plz reply ASAP!!!

    • @AmitChandak
      @AmitChandak  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      LYTD is last year till date. Trailing year is one year before data. If you select month Feb 2020. LYTD will be jan and Feb 2019. While trailing will be Fab 2019. On card visual, if there is no date in context. Then trailing is complete data 1 year before. While LYTD will be based on last date of date table.

      but sir, if we have 2018,19,and2020 data then trailing year will give us 2 years of data but LYTD is also giving 2 years of data if we click on 2019 it will give data of 2018
      if we click on 2020 it will give the data of 2019
      so it is also giving us 2 years of data. but th value on card is totally different. so sir what is the reason behind it i am not able to figure it out!!! @@AmitChandak

    • @AmitChandak
      @AmitChandak  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      when you do not have a date in context, filter, or row(visual), like card visual, and no filter/slicer on the page. Then trailing year is the sum last -1 year of the whole data. But if you select 2020 in the slicer or it is row context, then you should get 2019. if 6 rules are followed

      Trailing year should give one-year back data for the year in a context filter or row.
      With month year it will give same month last year
      Year behind Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,Year))

    • @AmitChandak
      @AmitChandak  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Power BI License Types:
      Power BI Free: Users with the free license can create and view their own reports, but they cannot share their reports with others.
      Power BI Pro/Power BI Premium User (PPU): Users with Pro or Premium licenses can create, view, and share reports with others. Each user/viewer, unless covered by Power BI Premium capacity, requires a Pro or Premium license to access shared reports.
      Power BI Premium Capacity:
      In Power BI Premium capacity, you can share apps with users who do not have individual licenses, making it cost-effective for widespread sharing within an organization.
      However, report designers (those creating the reports) in Premium capacity still require a Pro license, even if the sharing is done through Premium capacity.

    Hi Amit, I have question what is the different New cases, New Deaths and Cumulative cases and deaths.. Thank you

    • @AmitChandak
      @AmitChandak  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cumulative Cases: Cumulative Cases refer to the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in a particular country or region since the outbreak began. It includes all cases reported from day one up to the current date. So, for example, if a country had 100 cases on Day 1, 150 cases on Day 2, and 200 cases on Day 3, the cumulative cases on Day 3 would be 100+150+200=450.
      New Cases: New Cases, also known as Daily Cases or Confirmed Cases for a specific day, represent the number of newly reported COVID-19 cases on that particular day. It provides insights into the rate of infection on a daily basis. Using the same example, if the country reported 50 new cases on Day 2 and 50 new cases on Day 3, the new cases for Day 3 would be 50.
      Cumulative Deaths: Cumulative Deaths refer to the total number of deaths reported in a country or region due to COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. It includes all deaths reported from day one up to the current date. Continuing with the previous example, if the country had 5 deaths on Day 1, 10 deaths on Day 2, and 15 deaths on Day 3, the cumulative deaths on Day 3 would be 5+10+15=30.
      New Deaths: New Deaths, also known as Daily Deaths, represent the number of new deaths reported in a country or region on a specific day due to COVID-19. It provides insights into the daily mortality rate. Using the same example, if the country reported 5 new deaths on Day 2 and 5 new deaths on Day 3, the new deaths for Day 3 would be 5.
      In summary, Cumulative Cases and Cumulative Deaths give us the total count since the beginning of the outbreak, while New Cases and New Deaths show us the daily reported numbers.

    Hi I hope you are well. great video please keep up the good work.
    Dax: how can you Calculate difference between 2 values in same column based on a condition that says if the sum of the values in one field is equal to zero then give me zero else give me another field which is calculated. but I this is done by making a column where each row is calculated using the dax formulas but now I have the problem that power bi doesn't want to show the field in the matrix visual (but it shows it on a card.

      If you need a variance measure
      M1= calculate([measure], Table[Column] = "Value1") - calculate([measure], Table[Column] = "Value2")

      I think that shown around 6:10:32.
      th-cam.com/video/cN8AO3_vmlY/w-d-xo.html
      Right function work from end of string, and search works from start. So we subtract the search result from length.
      For one word city name, we do not want last name, so we return length.
      and length - length=0 , so we will not get last name.

    • @AmitChandak
      @AmitChandak  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Join both of them with date table, one join will be inactive, say for delivery date. You can create a measure with userelationship to use that join
      example
      calculate( SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),USERELATIONSHIP ('Sales'[Delivery Date], 'Date'[Date]))
