i wonder how much brainstorming the writers had to do to come up with all these fish names for every character, just so that 1 character had a unique little character trait of calling everyone by a fish nickname. thank you for the compilation!
Floyd seems to only refer characters by their actual name when he is personally close to them however i think the reason why Vil can be an exemption is probably his profound respect towards him that he gained during the first beanfest event where he challenged Vil only to lose against him. That encounter probably humbled him and refers Vil on a personal level.
I think it's the point of the video tho that he DOESN'T refer to Vil by a different name, he refers to Vil by the same nicknames he refers to everyone by. The English game is rewriting this canon for some reason but tbh I think they just have bad proof reading. That seems more likely than the possibility that there is an English-language-exclusive depth to Vil and Floyd's relationship that doesn't exist in the original game.
I wonder if one day, our relationship with Floyd can be closer like bff/family,... Will he change the nickname and just call us MC is MC like he did to Azul? (from Octy to Azul)
As far as I know Vil and the Mc are the only two characters that Floyd has referred to by their actual names. I guess there could be different reasons why.
Floyd doesn't refer to the prefect as their name tho, they call them Shrimpy. And also I think the point of the video is that Floyd has never actually called Vil by a different name, that's a new thing that either the English adaptation is trying to set up for some reason, or their proofreading is just not great.

He said “bet that made your shrimpy heart pitter patter, huh Mc” that’s probably also something that’s only from the english version though.

I kinda like his nicknames. Also it's funny how he doesn't have a nickname for his brother and Azul

Yeah, I think it's just bad proof reading. They've made tons of mistakes before and actually gone back and fixed some
