For me, the best lures for beginners are the trout magnet and in-line spinner. Spinners are the easiest to use because all you need to do is have a slow and steady retrieve. For the trout magnet, you need to let the lure sink all the way to the bottom and jig it rapidly. For some tips, you can observe the movements on the tip of my rod in my recent "2022 Opening Day" video. In my opinion, the line you use is crucial for trout fishing because they can be very finicky as the season progresses. 4 Lb Fluorocarbon is very important for catching finicky trout.
