  • This is a brand new transcription of Comfortably Numb, originally recorded by Pink Floyd for the Album: The Wall.
    First off, I would like to say that all the microphones used on this recording (both the ML1 and ML2 from Slate Digital) are the most incredible mics I've ever heard. If you don't own them. Go buy them now.
    The Guitars used are as follows:
    Electric Guitar: Classic 50's re-issue Stratocaster.
    Acoustic Guitar: Alvarez 12 String
    I made a full transcription of the song, including every instrument (even the French Horn...lol) and then re-recorded the entire song with myself playing all the instruments. I then sang the song both lead and background vocals.
    If you want to see the full cover go here: • Comfortably Numb by Ab...
    I made sure to tab out all the parts as I transcribed them, and then I synched the tab to the new recording and showed myself on screen playing the part. There is also the tab at the bottom of the screen. I hope you enjoy it, and that it helps you to become a better player.
    To find me on Facebook, go to: / picking.pythagorean.7
    And feel free to send me a message either on Facebook or TH-cam if you have a question about music, bass, guitar, piano whatever, and I will try my best to help you. Or, if you're trying to learn something and you can't find any tabs for it, send me a request. I can't always get to them right away, but I will try my best.
    To me, Music is about love, and helping one another.

    That's amazing man, that you put it all together.
    At first I thought it was original, even the voice.
    But then i started to notice, you sing more like staccato + vibrato sometimes.
    I tend to do the same.
    Would like to hear a version 2 of your singing, you have a great voice!

    Great cover man.. your voice sounds exactly the same as in original. Loved the video. I would really appreciate you man if you can cover porcupine tree's Anesthetize live version. I have been searching a good tab video of this song since two years but I couldn't find it yet. As you seem to be a pro guitarist so I thought of asking you. Please if you can post a video of this song with tabs I will get you a hundred subscribers from India bro. I promise. I am a beginner guitar player that's why I'm asking you. I couldn't figure it out on my own. I'm asking for help brother.

      Wow man, thank you so much. That's a hell of a compliment. This was one of the solos I learned when I first started playing, so I guess I had a good 25 years of practice beforehand....hahaha.....but thanks so much for being supportive and for the wonderful comment.

    What is your use patch pedal

    • @ThePickingPythagorean
      @ThePickingPythagorean  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On this one I used a pedal called a Metal Muff by Electroharmonix. I ran that pedal into a Hall of Fame Reverb and then into a sansamp paradriver and then straight into the computer

    it sounds gorgeus. I wonder the pedals that you used 🤩

    • @ThePickingPythagorean
      @ThePickingPythagorean  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's just a metal muff distortion pedal into a sansamp paradriver then into the board.
      There is also a delay and reverb from within the studio in the computer.

    4:33 can anyone explain to me how he makes that high pitched screech at the very start of the solo (that's written as in the tabs)?

    • @ThePickingPythagorean
      @ThePickingPythagorean  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man, Picking Pythagorean here. Thanks so much for watching. I can help you with this.
      That sound you're hearing is called an artificial Harmonic. It is played at the 7th fret of the G string, but the actual pitch that you hear is at the 19, (an octave higher) that is why the 19 is there.
      But the way to actually get the sound has nothing to do with the 19th fret. First, you need some distortion on the guitar, if you don't, the artificial harmonic will be extremely difficult. What you do, is you slide your pick into your fingers as far as you can, with just a tiny bit of the pick sticking out. Then hit the string, and try to hit some of your thumb along with it, with a little pinch. This will mute the 7th fret note, and only the high harmonic will sound.
      Now, when you first try this, I'd say it isn't going to work the first fifty times you try.....LOL, But then, one time you're going to hear the harmonic. Once you do, try to imitate what you just did and get it to sound again. Just keep doing this until you can hit the note every time. It will take a long time to get consistent, but you will get it.
      You can also try to pull up videos about pinch, or artificial harmonics, and there might be some good ones, I've never looked. I don't have any videos like this at the moment, but, in the future, there will be videos that explain all the techniques I use, so don't forget to sub and check back for those in the future.
      Once again, thanks for watching, and I hope this comment helped you in your journey.
      Keep on Rocking!!!!!
