I think the same, just wish they would add 1 extra for each one of the Pantheons, but also for free, having to pay extra for each one of the gods is a bummer and not good if expensive (don't live in the USA)

Kinda wish the bastion wasn't just a hillfort reskin. Like, it could have been a round fort, or a hillfort with a tower in it. Something that fits aesthetically with the rest of your base at least.
Having played him a few times and after watching a few competitive matches he feels pretty balanced - not Odin-tier in my opinion but not terrible either. Researching everything slower and taking so long to get Medium-units or Copper-upgrades really sucks.

@@zan4336 yep. And its a remake of the game, not a full-on sequel, so preserving those things is kinda important overall. Again, remove any got they had access to for what, 22 years by now, and a lot of people will be upset, and rightfully so in my book. if someone like pklaying Thor with both forseti or Freyja depending on the map, removing either to make room for something new is bound to make people like that upset at the lack of the legacy option. Plus no idea how that would impact the campaign, either removing options that were tailor-made for the map theyw ere available in (like the tartarus gate when having 2 separate bases) or campaign major gods having other options than the skirmish ones
that draugr upgrade seems crazy once you have a lot of them... it increases range of attacks AND line of sight, i can imagine whole armies getting cleaved down fire giant style
I like the idea of the new major gods but I really would love if there was a new campaign after all the new major gods get added. The titans expansion was fun but another like 20 chapter campaign would go so hard and I think a new campaign would allow them to separate themselves a bit from the voice acting gripes because a new campaign wouldn't have any old voices to compare itself to.
for me, the real hilarious part is that if you built a wonder, the asgardian fort becomes completely free to recast (since intentionally or not, the price of the fort never ramps up), over and over... and dont forget that with the upgrade, each makes you free food and acts as a mini healing fountain if you didnt take Bragi, while dealing more damage than forts you have to pay for! as for Freyr's research quirks, it saves you ressources but its up in the air if it makes techs faster: you can launch them earlier, but have to wait longer for them to complete as a balancing factor. But regardles, thats more money you can funnel towards something else.

I’m going to main Norse and good chance I start with Freyr The free hill fort in the classical age is insanely strong. It’s going to be very hard for anybody to push him around or do any real damage to freyr in the classical age
Greeks could get Demeter or Hestia. Both are important godesses of the same generation as the big 3. More importantly, both are good candidates for having Hera as a minor god. Persephone could also be a prominent minor for Demeter. Hercules could be a candidate for minor as well.

How does Fafnir work in multiplayer? If one dies in a 4v4 and it does give gold to all enemies that mean you would have just given your opponents 1200 gold, and if you have multiple die then you could be gifting them thousands of gold really fast. That also bring up the question of what if you delete it before your opponent can get the last hit, what happens then? That also bring the question of campaign mechanics, if you kill 1 in campaign and you have hidden allies do they split my gold, or if I have 1 in a campaign and it dies does it go to the 1 main AI enemy or all the hidden enemy AI too? Lots of questions with that unit.
Interesting! Does that 50% discount and 150% longer research time also apply to age advances? Like 200 food and 2.5 minutes for Classic and 400 food, 250 gold, and 2.5 minutes for Heroic? Can you produce villagers while advancing ages? Or is it only Greek that can train heroes while aging up?

a china civ is in the works for sure (thoguh it will be a complete redesign compared to tales of the dragon), as well as another, for the time unknown civ. means the expansion packs on the roadmap are likely new major/minor gods like freyr if they arent those 2 civs, maybe as well with a new mission where you play as that god. that and I cant imagine they would be willing to let the norse be the only civ with 4 major gods. So overall, seems we will get both!
the old gods werent changed, and doubt they would be as I dont see the devs beign wiling to REMOVE options they had in the original game in order to make room. However the gods arent designed in a way that is bound to make them eclusive to freyr, so they may appear again if more major gods get added. But yeah for the time being, he is the only one with access to them, and I doubt the old roster will ever have them.

But they gotta start somewhere if they want to add new gods, and again dont think they want to invalidate any strategy that existed in the original game completely by removing a minor god that a given major god had always access to before.

I wonder how fafnir interacts in multiplayer. Would it be that player who kills it that gets the gold or do all opponents get the gold? In a way fafnir protects your other units too, people will want to focus it down for the reward I think, which is damage your army isn’t taking.
i feel like it doesn't matter because you'll lose more units for trying kill it then resource it gives. you already saw it kill like 3 hoplites almost instantly.

@@Shero1337 probably nobody gets gold which is what i plan to do with it. i plan to use for first 1000 hp and suicide for last 200 hp. so just super strong unit with no drawback.
I was scared the new myth units would lack in quality compared to the already existing ones but it’s the opposite they look better animation and also detail wise I mean look at fafnir outshines every myth unit also Rock Giant (for me rock golem :p) looks and plays more interesting than the other heroic myth units. I mean they all look great but it seems he will be the „new frost giant“ I mean battle boar looks great now but it feels like rock giant will be way better or am I wrong? also so many Upgrades for Ullr (a skiing god LOL) feels also like the better choice and vidar I love his portrait, godpower and myth unit. his upgrades seem cool but hersir upgrade seems a bit too goofy (I mean it looked like his hammer grows but the model not which let him look like an anime character. Maybe I saw this wrong tho)

I dont get why they give him baldur... but if u see what is the other option... the stone giant is hiper broken. 2 or 3 stone giants with some axeman....and taunting... It is gonna be more toxic than the spam of nemean lions... And the hillfort XD it is gonna be used as rush tactic they give him a tech to get rams and a follow up of inciendary weapons... Nerfed before redbull or ban in it

Loki who is a major god gets Tyr, A god that virtually does nothing for him but Freyr who gets Vidar that makes Hensirs stronger. isn't Loki suppose to be the god that spams Hensir? Why is Freyr better at spamming Hensirs then Loki is. I suspect that Freyr might be early rush norse god because early portable rams. it seems you want to Valkyries -> Rock giant->Hei is the defensive play-style while Bragi, Early hill forts and Vidar is offensive rush play-style.

Agree with the giants, but I'm perfectly okay with getting another dragon on the grounds that Fafnir is one of the most iconic dragons in all of mythology.
:( this "dlc" feels like content they ripped from the normal game and turned into a dlc.. you make dlcs after the game release not make dlcs out of already existing content, imagine if minor haligtree where you fight Malenia in elden ring was payed dlc :/, this , coupled with ai art and the plastic figurine look and the 1 month away from release demo that was basically a publicity stunt to reach more people instead of fix problems in the game, it just screams like theyr trying to squeeze money out of the game and not earn it genuenly. i will be waiting and not pre-ordering or buying it on release

Seems like it should have been easy. Instead of 3 minor gods per age you have 4 and every minor god is available to 2 major gods.
Yeah could work like swapping Freya with Ullr for Thor, Bragi with Aegir for Loki and Vidar with Tyr for Odin.

they dont deal nearly as much damage but it seems they wil ldeal more dps over longer fights than FGS due to their normal attacks also piercing

Yes. More consistent look some better poses but some got worse in my opinion but others better in return

I think Frey (rhymes with pray) is the most accurate.
I think 150% would mean it would move from 10 second research time to 15 seconds and not 25 seconds, that would be 250%

But that would just be 50% longer. Not 150% longer.
Pronounce it Frey, like house Frey from Game of Thrones or Freyja but without the "a". Much easier.
To be honest, I prefer the elves over draugrs when it comes to their abilities and roles.

I'm perplexed that the developers haven't come up with anything better than another boar, another giant and another dragon. Are there really no other creatures in Scandinavian mythology? Sleipnir, Ratatoskr, all sorts of goats...
Agree with the giants, but I'm perfectly okay with getting another dragon on the grounds that Fafnir is one of the most iconic dragons in all of mythology.

Also another wolf. Fenris and Gullinbursti are already represented in the game, but the developers seem really untalented.

:( this "dlc" feels like content they ripped from the normal game and turned into a dlc.. you make dlcs after the game release not make dlcs out of already existing content, imagine if minor haligtree where you fight Malenia in elden ring was payed dlc :/, this , coupled with ai art and the plastic figurine look and the 1 month away from release demo that was basically a publicity stunt to reach more people instead of fix problems in the game, it just screams like theyr trying to squeeze money out of the game and not earn it genuenly. i will be waiting and not pre-ordering or buying it on release

And in the remake they probably thought of freyr, made his kit and the execs said "lets make it dlc" why...? that content is on day one .. dlc should be added content months or years after the game comes out , if dlc that ads playable content comes out day one , then that does bode well, imagine playing for idk.. mortal kombat but all the characters on release are not playable and u instead have to pay extra for some of them :/ just leaves a bad taste in mah mouth
@@AlexFoxken If something wasn't in the original game, you can hardly say that it was "ripped out" of the remake, now can you? The original game was a complete game.
