  • Entire episode has a "love and marriage" theme since it's airing in June. Final segment with guest Dana Andrews has already been uploaded here on 4/26/11.
    (1) Helen and Bob Sheehan, Paxton, Massachusetts: "During my wedding ceremony ... my husband fainted ... the best man fainted ... the maid of honor fainted ... and my mother broke the heel of her shoe."
    (2) Jack Narz (currently hosting "Dotto") with a paper bag over his head: "I introduced Bill Cullen to his wife."

Narz's game show "Dotto" was a popular program but was canceled after a brief run when it turned out the games were fixed.

Jack Narz wasn’t in on the fixing of Dotto, he was proven innocent of any collusion in that matter.

Fortunately he introduced Bill to his wife. Or Bill would have married someone other than his wife.

I think Bill Cullen's death was also cigarette related. What always annoyed me was that Garry Moore could not film a half-hour episode of "I've Got a Secret" without a cigarette in his hand.

@@dennishalford5763 They were his primary sponsor, they probably had a contract where he has to be seen with a cigarette for a certain amount of time in the show which just sucks

I never thought of that. I guess that could very well have been the case. I hope it was because that cigarette in his hand throughout just about every episode has always annoyed me. Knowing that he was contractually required to do this, though, if this was truly the case, definitely makes it less annoying to me.

@@dennishalford5763 But the contractual obligation to smoke also probably led to an actual dependence on it as well which is really saddening

That's a good point! I hadn't thought of that. Just about everyone smoked back then---and anywhere they wanted---in homes, stores, offices!
Growing up, my father owned businesses. The cigarette companies all loved him! He was one of their best customers. I thank God I never had any interest in smoking!
