The Windsor small blocks are a very easy swap in the CJ jeeps. Much easier than any V8 s besides the AMC V8s . The T176 4 speed trans used in the CJs as well as the Jeep T18 trans will both accept the SBF bell housing and the input shafts and clutches are compatible with the SBF engines. A simple trimming of the input shaft tip and a readily available pilot bushing along with mounts and the Required SBF stuff and it's in and off to the sticks. I swapped a roller cam 351w and t176 / d300 t case into my 74 CJ 5 in a weekend. Infact I started Sat morning and was on the road running excellent by 1 pm Sunday with no midnight oil burning Sat night. Super easy swap when research completed and Everything ready to go as planned. Couldn't be happier

Right now working on putting a 302 in my 97 tj, advanced adaptors and Lane automotive in Watervilliet have everything I need, looking at spending 1500 total on the kits
I have a 2011 JKU with a Procharger from a 2020 Gladiator setup on my 3.8 V6. Yeah, I went from 155hp on the dyno to 370hp on the dyno. Had to get a 400hp 6-puck clutch because the stock one couldn't handle the low-end torque at stop lights. Lasted a little less than a year before I installed the 400hp clutch. Had to go from 24lb fuel injectors to 36lb, dropping the pulley to a 2.8" pulley from the 3.4" Procharger pulley. I did it all myself in my garage on my channel. I think I mentioned the price on it, but I got the Procharger kit for the 3.6 Gladiator off ebay for $3k from a guy who had 4k miles on it. He had to take it off before trading it in. I had to build the setup to fit my 3.8 (whole video walks thru the welding I had to do...yes. I weld.) All in all, I wouldn't do it over again! LOL! It was a nightmare, but it was a FUN build to hear people say, "...that's not gonna work", and here I am almost 2yrs later still running it! I installed at around 190k miles on the engine, and I'm now I'm at 256k miles on the SAME ENGINE - and it runs like a champ! Had to install long-tube headers, too...almost forgot that. BUT, as long as you have someone who can tune it right, you're in good hands. Without a tune, you're not going anywhere. And the guy that tuned my Jeep wouldn't go over 400hp because he said my 3.8 would blow without forged pistons. He stopped at a 370hp map, even tho I would never use the full 370hp. I just needed low-end torque for off-roading and making it up hills out in the desert. On the dyno, we got the Jeep (on 37s) up to 123mph. I'll never go that fast on the highway, but it get up to speed a LOT faster with the Procharger on there, sometimes skirting the tires from a stop when I'm not even trying to. An engine mod may be expensive (and a pain), but it will be the FUNNEST mod you'll ever do! Engine swapping isn't something I'd one in a Jeep, but I'm sure it's a lot easier than building a Procharger setup that doesn't go to the engine you bought it for! LOL! I'll NEVER DO IT AGAIN, but I love my Jeep!
you forgot jeep 4.0-4.6/4.7 stroker engine.... 300hp/300ftlbtq.... no mods to vehicle... bolt in. when the power goes over 300 you need upgrade the rest of driveline. It will get way more expensive when you have to upgrade the axles.
I'm probably the only one to say this but I've been considering swapping my 98 2.5L for a ford 300 6cyl and bulldog trans. And couldn't tell you why exactly lol

Great video. I think that no matter what jeep you own or what engine your running, as long as your on the trails and having fun it's all good. Any suggestions for a 2006 tj with 6 speed manual transmission? Super cheap, super easy I want a manual transmission too I was looking at a 89 gmc truck 4x4 with 5 speed manual that’s local. For 1500.00 Can’t say I have ever strayed into conversions , always stock but this Jeep power train sucks like my ex.
That local GMC might not be a bad idea whats the condition of the overall vehicle? I always feel like that is a decent indicator of what under the hood is about to look like 😂

Which one will work in my 2008 Jeep Wrangler X
the aluminum block 5.3 out of a 05-07 z71 is the best v8 engine for a jeep, imo. its what will be going in mine, eventually. you can pick up a donor truck for about 2-4 grand, these days.
I will put a 350 sbc but I want to upgrade to a ls 5.3 in one moment or better an om606 Mercedes Benz diesel but I think I could have size problems to make fit it engine in a fj40 Toyota
1.9L TDI Diesel
wouldn't mind putting a 392 in my YJ
Pajero 3 gen 3200 CC DiD swiped with 1kz
I’m working on putting a Chevy 5.0 in my 1997 wrangler tj
I'm thinkin' Ols School 327 chevy with no computer crap. All carb
Any mention on the Lt
Which is best for fuel economy?
Probably looking for the GME 2.0 turbo for my 58 fc-170 if the block the super hurricane is dead.
open to suggestion :D
has any done a swap, have a 2007 jeep wrangler with a 3.8l automatic transmission
wanting to put a 5.2l engine in it from a 1995 jeep grand cherokee
I have started drawing schematics and designs for a ford BARRA swap a 4ltr straight 6
They sound horrible.not very reliable.but there cheap as.
My 96 ZJ has a V8 dude. They had em in the 90s
I just bought a YJ with a hand grenaded 2.5 and a rusted out 99 S-10 with a 4.3. You can do the math.
For fun, I’d throw a hellcat in my wrangler but it’s obviously a pipe dream. Realistically, I’d like to give it a 5.7 hemi one day
If I get a wrangler, I'll probably go 350 small block. I don't want to deal with shit ton of electronics and tuning an LS ecu.
Fair enough 😂
You could buy a new JL and do the V8 swap on it for way less the the $70k that new V8JL will cost.
I’m putting a 360 magnum in my YJ
What are your guys opinion. I have a 98 tj. Going fast would be cool but also want something I can customize through out.
I'd like some more info, not smart a_s comments, I have a 2000 TJ and a GM 4.3l I'd like to swap the engine into the Jeep? THANKS
I'm considering a V-8 swap into a Willys pickup, with XJ front and rear ends, trans and t-case.
Think it over, 6 Cyl power train wasn't designed for V8 engine
@@WillyK51, since I'm not planning on wheeling it hard, the drive train will be fine.
I swapped a L83 and a 8L90 into my four door jk
What would be the easiest swap on a 2015 jeep compass with a 2.4
Any suggestions for a 2006 tj with 6 speed manual transmission?
Super cheap,super easy
I want a manual transmission too
I was looking at a 89 gmc truck 4x4 with 5 speed manual that’s local. For 1500.00
Can’t say I have ever strayed into conversions , always stock but this Jeep power train sucks like my ex.
That local GMC might not be a bad idea whats the condition of the overall vehicle? I always feel like that is a decent indicator of what under the hood is about to look like 😂

Everything is rusted out mid Canada
Usually motors outlast bodies
Is it possible to swap out the 2.4 in the 2016 Cherokee to the 3.2 v6 (both same year and use same transmission)
I was thinking about getting the engine of the mustang cobra, instal a super charger and a drain system
What about a hellcat engine swap
Am I the only one who thinks the new Bronco looks more like a 70's Scout than a first generation Bronco?
It looks like a Kia Soul fucked a jeep renegade.
Oh boy, this is just the start of the things keep fan boys are going to be saying about the new bronco that already has over 190k pre-orders, me being one of them
@@Andrew-on5do your envy is showing.
Hi, I am new to jeep life. I bought a used 2008 jk and plan to change the engine as its nearing 200k miles, and is slowly falling apart. I just need a reliable daily driver that looks good, and can handle light off roading occasionally. What engine do you recommend I go with, and where can I buy it? Thanks!
