I’m going to Snowden next week but taking the easiest way of all, the train! At 67 I think I know my limits. Thank you for taking us with you on your adventure.
Did this path on Saturday as a first time climber with no experience.. what a challenge but well worth it in the end.. great video

Yours is the second video I've seen covering this walk. On both occasions both have referred to it as the WATKINS Path. It is, in fact The WATKIN Path, named after Sir Edward Watkin. Having climbed it many times, the first time in 1960, apart from Crib Goch, it's my favourite path to Snowdon. I was fortunate to climb in a time before widespread erosion when the paths were lightly worn by the boots of not so many walkers.
Did the Watkins for the first time this weekend. Hard going, probably tougher than I'd expected, but very satisfying when completed. Came down via the South Ridge which I'd reccomend.
Stunning video! You've captured the atmosphere of the WATKIN PATH to the summit of SNOWDON (or, more accurately YR WYDDFA) beautifully and without the irritatingly intrusive 'music' of so many videos.

Really nice video of your day on the Watkin path, its a really hard pull in places, but worth the effort. I always like the perspective from the bwlch looking across Lliwedd, so steep. I'm sure you had a well deserved pint back at base camp. Diolch.

Love seeing these routes being done, I am more of a novice hiker so stuck to Pyg up Miners down. Gonna give Llanberis a go at some point. Hope youre enjoying up hill adventures now we are back in the Summer months 😊

That was a good video, I'm up on Mt Snowdon in a month's time , I was going to take the Watkins Path but now I'm well into my 60's I think I'll go for the more touristy route.
Fabulous photography .... done the pyg up and miners down, but will be taking Watkins for the waterfall views soon. 👌
Well, the summit is not quite the top ;) and it never took 5 mins on the last portion to get to where you were said was the top. still only 5 more mins from the building to the top ;) Well done, I did it a few weeks ago and it was a great walk!
Try the ranger path if you're looking for an easier route up. Great views over to Mynydd Mawr and the Nantlle Ridge and a less steep path up to the summit of Snowdon. The Rhyd Ddu path is also a great way up. Enjoyed your video btw

Basically, I hiked up solo snowdon, never done it before by myself on the 2n Jan. And thats what I found, no clear path and the incline is insane, it was testing my mental ability and I really struggled. I took a osmond route up. I only made it to clawdd Coch 931m - because the icy ridge and fog was in and my energy didnt change the last 100m elevation. This relieves me to see that I wasnt insane and its crazy! haha dont recommend this route for the first time going up snowdon and your an inexperienced hiker. I started my hike 8:30am finsihed at 3pm
How much was ( and is ) breathing, an issue at this altitude ??? How much of an issue might it be for a physically fit person who hasn't been at such an altitude ??? Thanks.

Breathing is no problem. I seem a little breathless sometimes but this was during Covid and sure I was recovering from a bout of the illness. Peak is only 1085m so should not cause someone physically fit any problem...just that damn scree face !
I wouldn't have said the Watkin Path was the hardest
Grib croc..hardest scramble most of it ..
Crib Goch is a proper scramble. Watkin far more gruelling

Imagine being the brickies etc who put that building there. Maybe they got dropped off by helicopter, as imagine that work after a walk up and then the walk down.
