    It's my OCD, but using a back and forth sawing action like cutting a piece of meat does absolutely nothing when using a chainsaw. The chain does all the work. Rocking a chainsaw does help to keep a chainsaw from stalling though.

      been used with gasoline Stihl before, maybe that's where i get it from...but yeah i agree with you, it does nothing but numb my arms lol

      This cat needs to be careful with the way he's trying to cut . You're absolutely correct let the chain and the saw do the work. Just remember one thing the bigger the chips the sharper the chain

    But atlas has a 40 volt too? So try the 40 vs 40

      now that would be fair...i dont have an Atlas 40v...but now after a bit of time i realized that Ryobi actually is a great chainsaw...i made an updated opinion on it recently ...i think i used Ryobi way more than Atlas this past year

    Let the chainsaw do the work you don’t need to saw it back and forth.

    I have (2) Kobalt 80-volt 18" Bar Chainsaws and use (2) 5 AH Batteries. Using it on a Southeast LA farm that was devastated by a Hurricane and has been working absolutely great even cutting huge logs and trees. For oil, I like to use Ryobi Bar and chain oil. And NO more pulling and pulling to start a gas-powered chainsaw. My first 80-volt 18" Bar Chain saw with a 5-AH Battery and charger was $400 in Jul 2021. it is still being sold on Lowes website as of 5/26/2024 - I use them on a Southeast LA farm of 18 acres of tall large pine trees that was devastated by a Hurricane with a tornado 10 acres of the property nearly all the trees are down or dead. My chainsaws have been working great even cutting huge logs and trees up to 20"+ logs and it works great. I am also using the 80-volt 10” Pole saw, lawnmower, and Leaf Blower.

    Thank you. Nice review. I just bought this Atlas 80v, but with the larger capacity 4AH battery. I wonder if it'll make a difference in terms of power output

      It will...but make sure you get some good bar&chain oil...and keep an eye on the tensioner, it tends to loosen if you cut a lot...and depending on wood it might use more oil...but as far as a battery chain of that price point...it's great...2 years almost now using it on everything, and not a single problem at all.

    100% unfair comparison! 40v against 80v?

    How can you compare 24 volts to 80 volts and compare them ?

      it's 40v...this is what i happened to have at the time

    Seems like something is wrong with the Ryobi. The new 18" version is strong.

    • @OMNITEK
      @OMNITEK  ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually both are fairly new...and both were bought brand new...Ryobi from Homedepot and Atlas from Harbor Freight...so far Atlas has been way better...but not to be compared with Husqvarna or Stihl....and definitely not even close in power to gasoline chains, i'd say the Atlas disadvantage is the battery...it doesnt last too long and takes hours to charge even with their fast charger i have...when full battery definitely Atlas does a good job.

      @@OMNITEK I have the 18 inch Ryobi and it seems as mine does not struggle like yours. Have you tried other batteries. I have noticed that when I use the 6 AH batteries in mine it seems to work better and does not cut out at all. I cut 14-15 inch red oak with mine and it did great. Again, hard to really tell on the videos versus to actually being there and using it. How do they compare with actually using them for work? Runtimes? Does the Ryobi get more work done or does the Atlas get more work done?

    • @OMNITEK
      @OMNITEK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@brandonblankenship5293 wow 15-16 inch red oak..i definitely need to get my hands on some 6A, because as it sits right now, i can't go beyond maybe 1ft width max with it without "choking"...Atlas so far is being better in a sense that has a bit more speed and torque, the only downside on the Atlas is the chain retainer, it keeps letting it get loose too often so i have to tighten it often...battery is ok for maybe 30 cuts on 8-12 inch pine that i tried ...not exactly a day long cut...ryobi's battery lasts a good bit of time but mine doesn't have that torque..but it might just be mine alone plus i need to get the 6A battery...so far i am happy with Atlas if the battery would last longer.

    • @brandonblankenship5293
      @brandonblankenship5293 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OMNITEK I think they have a larger battery out for the Atlas now. A 5 ah @ 80 volt. It's not cheap but would give you twice the run time.

    • @OMNITEK
      @OMNITEK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@brandonblankenship5293 yeah their batteries aren't cheap at all...i have a few Atlas tools which i need to upgrade batteries soon...especially the lawn mower takes 2 batteries...it does cut most of the lawn but only if i set it a bit high..if i lower the blades...barely does a quarter of the lawn...100% need to upgrade, but you know those benjamins are preventing it from happening at the moment hahaha

    I’m ngl, sounds like ur ryobi isn’t healthy, all the other ones I’ve seen so far seem like they have way more rpm. Kinda wonder if u ended up getting a bad saw Or battery.
