My dad was a cobbler and an inventor.
Mainly people needed to have their shoe heels repaired.
He always put so much love into repairing every pair of old shoes that sometimes his customers didn`t recognize their own shoes when they came to pick them up :)))
He often liked to tease them by saying: " I`ll be right with you. In the meantime, look for your shoes!" And oftentimes, they just couldn`t find them because they looked so new. :)))
This video made me think of him, it brought back a lot of nice memories.
In 2021, my dad and my mom both passed away on the same day, due to COVID pneumonia.

Seriously at this point that restored shoes are probably worth much more with all the craftsmanship and handwork completed than the original shoes.
Not really.A polished turd is still a turd . It might gain value more than a used pair but it won't be more than a brand new one or nos condition
I think people who do that probably have an history behind those shoes ! Maybe these shoes have a strong meaning so they don't want to throw them away ☺️

The fact that Chanel charges so much for such shoddy workmanship and lackluster materials should be illegal. It’s actually worth more once you’ve restored it. You are truly an artist.

If you find this relaxing, let me give you an old well proven tip that your great grandmother and her mother used, it works wonder for reducing stress and anxiety, get rid of frustration and create so much positive energy that will be positive to you and your family. Sadly most people today have forgotten about it, I’m talking about bread baking.
Bread baking, not cake making, is a hands on slow, relaxing, almost meditative doing. The kneading, which can be done by hand or machine, is extremely good for reducing frustration and anger if you use your hands. Why do you think our female ancestors made so much bread? It was the only way they could release it by kneading, hitting and wrenching that dough into bread.
The end result of this bread-therapy is a house filled with the most amazing smell, you feel happy, the family are impressed and you can go to bed with a smile on your face.
I am not kidding. I have been studying bread baking and psychology and it is beneficial to reduce stress, anxiety and frustration. Most men that starts with bread baking continue doing it because they find great pleasure in making something so down to earth and relaxing. In difficult times, we have always returned to the basics because we find comfort in it and that is why women have been baking in all times, often doing it together with other women, out of necessity but also because it was good for them and felt homey and safe.
Ps: always start with white bread if you are not used to using yeast. It is most often successful.

Wow the work on this. Good craftsperonship is becoming so rare. Bring back quality. I’m a muppet I have given away so many pairs of shoes, barely worn with proper soles and jackets that were made in the uk thinking quality within a reasonablish price range not knowing that quality over the last 25 years would plummet. I lloved the days of planet Windsmoor, Alexon, etc etc . Now it’s all fast fashion and plastic bags at designer prices.

The petals of the flowers are supposed to be curved out and 3d, I was really hoping you'd show that part of stretching and shaping the leather. That would have made this a perfect freshening up of the shoes!

Not to mention the CC emblem was placed on the outside, when originally placed on the inside.
I loved the camellia work! The new soles, on the other hand, made the shoes look cheaper...
I have boots with leather soles and similar ones with vibram soles, and while the vibrams are nice for grip and comfort, I agree that they look cheap. Leather soles can sometimes be more comfortable, so Ill give up the grip for stiffness
I agree. This was totally unnecessary. I never would have replaced the original camellias. The shoes needed a good cleaning.
