Nothing goes to waste in this shop. The only thing which made we worry, was seeing those young guys putting their bare hands into solvent. Over time, that can create health issues. The older guy with the beard really knew his stuff.
That solvent is just kerosene.

@9:50 he puts new orings in housing, then sands the shaft on top of the housing. I'm sure that debris will really help the orings last 🤦♂️

Remarkable handicraft 👏👏👏👏. Watching him wack that wrench with the mallet … the original ‘impact wrench’. All done without any power tools.
Just a note for the title, in english it's "steering" not "staring". Where I work, we have highway coaches, MCI J4500. One would have a steering wheel that would turn smooth, then stick a little, then smooth, but not all the time. The mechanics replaced the steering pump and bled the system twice and it still did it. What it was, was the u-joint in the steering column where the tilt steering is. It was seized. These guys sure work fast.
The old bearded gentleman is a master of his craft.
Question: How many people does it take to rebuild a steering gear?
Answer: The entire family.
The same number as to change a light bulb.
No wonder they can fix it in 18 min of the video..in some country might be need a week..waiting for special tools and etc.

Разобрали,помыли бензином,вытерли тряпками, собрали всё обратно - ремонт окончен!
Это ещё не всё.." мастер"..чистил вал наждачкой прямо над корпусом механизма...о количестве абразива в полостях можно только догадываться,но для быстрого износа не много и надо...

Just how many people does it take to do a simple job, surely the guy with the hammer just came in to get in front of the camera.
Other people is learning all the process
I don’t care how many times they take it apart and put it back together I know for a fact when they put it together and put it inside the truck it will not work they are missing multiple multiple steps and specialty tools to make this work properly and they’re not even centering the main shaft. I’m taking the support and you have to be a very damn good specialist and that’s with all the tools are required but. I can guarantee you this they’ll show it at the very end all finished and rebuilt but they will not show it inside the truck And see how it performs to the right into the left fast and slow because if they do you will hear metal starting to crumble and disintegrate in pieces being ground up into powder trust me it happened to me and what happened to these guys they do not have the specialty products you need or items to get these gearboxes going God bless you my brothers and sisters only speak the truth.✝️✝️✝️

Give them a break guy, they're barely literate.
These guys can’t even get a used toothbrush to clean the parts. No micrometer for checking for wear. Using sandpaper. No bearing pullers or drivers. Lots of hammering on precision parts. No testing afterwards to see if they improved anything. Maybe some improvement?
After so many objections like u, every thing is ok and client is ok and this repair works will work for another ten years and will pass time on very rough terrian under tough and heavy hand of drivers.
@@shabbirpatel2923 Well, sorry, I can hope for the best but just on general principles, if you cut every possible corner the result is often FAR LESS than excellent. Usually when you use sandpaper and hammers you hurt the bearing surfaces and they do not last very long. And especially with steering parts the failure can result in the truck running off the road into a pack of schoolchildren of off a cliff. A little more care would perhaps be a good thing.
