Thanks for watching! :-)
Would defo of checked the oil before starting..
Worry on times about this lad 😂😂🤯
Give it a rev on 5 year old fuel lad
It's cleaner than my Passat inside 😂
I'm only 2 minutes into the video, and I'm already thinking, what's happened to Audi S1...???
The reason your coughing will be the mould spores all over the side of the drivers seat .. I’d be using a mask
you're making it sound like this car is 'really bad' lol @ 5 years stood, mate that's nothing at all, minor pressure wash, clay bar, detail and a few little touch ups. Guys going on like this needs a full restoration lololol
Really excited to see the progress with this one Luke. A good detail, maintenance going over and trip to Badger 5 would make an amazing set of videos.
Loving the work you are doing just now.
Would be a good idea to check the oil before starting the engine. Unless Iv missed you doing that step.
I just got my 1999 1.8T sport back that I sold 19 years ago. I spotted it in the weeds at the side of Loch Fyne when I was out west bike packing and managed to find the owner and get it back. It now has 204,500miles on the clock. Got it transported to my house near Edinburgh and took it for an MOT to see what I was up against and believe it or not it passed with only 5 advisories. Looking forward to seeing you resurrect this old S3 as I am doing with my A3.
No way that's been parked up 5 years.. id say 6 months
Absolute drama queen!!
Mate if your daughter could see your comment history on this channel she would be embarrassed
Definitely should have checked oil etc first. Plus also put fresh fuel in as well
I bought a 2002 s3 8l 2 weeks ago. Mine is in a better state but the engine is disassembled. It is a great car and drives wonderful. Have fun rebuilding it.
Mould spores should def be wearing a mask!!!! s1??????
Very sad seeing a beauty in such a sorry state. Looking forward to seeing how you transform and restore it
S3 8l is very cool car that I might buy it in the future when I sell it my rs3. Btw why there is no vids with a45s? Is it broken or what?
What happened to the s1?
Long gone😂😂
Engine swap! VR6 Turbo conversion or TTRS 2.5.
Clueless. First thing anyone with simple car knowledge would be to check the oil and coolant, empty the fuel tank, flush it and put fresh stuff in before starting it. Also check the air filter is in tact, if its been eaten by bugs, its useless.
I'm currently restoring the same car and I love it❤
Love this generation of S3
I just hope you are going to engine swap it to the latest EA888 😅
Starting the car is one thing but letting it tick over and revving it on at least 5 years old oil is not a good idea.
That clunking when steering. Have you had a look at it yet??
Have a buddys RS4 b7 making that same noise after it have been standing about 2 years. Its running KW suspension.
We are thinking topmounts or steering rack
1.8t 20v one of the best VAG engines ever especially the BAM / AMK engine code with wideband ecu and vvt
A old mate brought one with a massive front mount intercooler he thought it was about 350bhp,
Everyone said felt like 125bhp poor girl was in a bad way 😂😂😂
It’s tree pollen all over the car, it’s sticky when it lands and then hardens up.
Hey dude, PSA had clunking noise like that in my steering on a different car (i own an audi now) but it turned out to be the rack ends pulling the threads out...mine popped out in a car park luckily but id look at that ASAP before driving on the road.
The issue was caused by some one replacing it previously and not installing the lock washer, luckily ruined the threads on the rack end and not the rack itself and no damage otherwise
Omg I miss my 2002 imola yellow S3 mint condition but upgraded to a 8V and regret it. Best S3 ever made! No fake engine noise and pure driving experience.
These flippin cars move 😭🔥🔥u will never go bored with em
I’m really leaning towards getting one as my next car currently driving a 1.0 golf and it’s nice but slow I want something that looks amazing and is fast
Wussup guyz im lookin to get the 1.8 non turbo due to im not really a turbo fan,so i would like to know the reliability and the fuel efficiency i tried to google but i don't seem to get my answers about em
Definitely a video to build content. Wasted 30 seconds watching 👎🏻
Love those 1.8t engines 🔥🔥
One of your best videos bro 😎definitely enjoyed watching it 🎉🎉
my guess would be tree sap all over the car. had it on my first car after parking under a tree, sticks to the paint like glue!
Best S3 ever ?
Definitely not
Cant wait to see the progress on this. I have one on 226k now. Only use at weekends now.. nice to see s3 8l vids as they are all usually the mk1 tts :(
Here we go ….. this will be another excuse to moan like fcuk about something like Luke normally does on his M3!!
Good old Darren’s back again with his irrelevant comments and constant spelling mistakes 🥱
@@Supercarfan99-li7hz oh I’m sorry did I put FCUK instead of FUCK!!🙄…..
There’s a reason for that you illiterate f’tard !
It’s called WOKETUBE!!
@@Supercarfan99-li7hz so where the spelling mistakes then you illiterate f’tard!🤔
If I spell Fcuk properly then WOKE TUBE takes it down!!
If you can’t even use the word properly because it might be taken down then why do it? You clearly live a very strange life if you feel the need to watch content you clearly don’t enjoy but still continue to watch and leave negative comments 😂
@@Supercarfan99-li7hz When someone posts videos but then moans about stuff… ie his car, the bills, the running cost etc having the same car in my collection a E92 M3 then personally I don’t see how he can moan!… the car is what it is a 4.0 V8…. I sometimes use mine twice a day, two days a week, or even the week …drive it & enjoy it… not moan about it!
You no doubt run round in ya little electric car, sit at filling stations for hours charging it up …. What a life!!…. Still each to their own yeah!
People don’t wanna hear people breathing in & moaning out…. Unlike you Mr supercarfan I have a fantastic life thanks, I’m 50 & retired so do yourself a favour & fucking get one cup cake!
They all tick sure it’s either the injectors or the charcoal canister which can be deleted my 1.8t used to do it. Good luck with the project
The s1 was Audi s rally development project
Broken spring 😮 it would be nice to restore it and keep it original
Bit too much emphasis how bad it is..repetition re tree droppings etc etc
That knocking noise I predict is a broken suspension spring perhaps
I have the genuine chrome wing mirrors for these that be willing to sell if your interested not got round to advertising! Can’t wait for the detailing video 👍🏼 should be great project, wheels back to silver please 😬
Give them him you tight bastard😂😂
Give me a shout bro he got you covered in this parts wise be nice to return the favour
Just a detailed polish thats all it needs, you make it worse then it is
The condition of the seats are great considering the mileage
Mote than likely tree sap mate clay bar or mit will help
i would have paid no more than 500 quid
One of the best S3s ever made in my opinion 225 bhp from a 1.8 in 2002 was crazy, fast forward 2016 until now and you can get 270 bhp from a 1.6 with the pug 308 gti, how times change
Oioi we s3 1.8t 20 v bam 💥💥
wouldn't touch a high mile s3
Love your content mate, but please finish this one! Don’t want a repeat of the G86 and S1 🤷🏻♂️
Will be eagerly following this. I have just reserected a 8L 1.8t after sitting for 10 years. Has an IHI turbo on custom turbo kit running about 300bhp. Was a big number back then. Now daily driven by my nephew. You probably paid about £500 by my guess. If you do plan to tune it, Phil at Mallory Performance still has the kit to tune them. Most of the VW shops don't offer tuning nowadays. Best of luck.
Just bought my neighbours one 53 plate bam 187,000 miles drives like it from the show room
Why would some one leave it like that is beyond me.shame its got crazy miles its prob only worth price in parts this will only be a labour of love
Yesss! I'm sure there'll be some bigger plans for this car but it would be really nice to see it detailed and somewhat restored back to it's former glory... Those Recaros are still beautiful even by today's standards, would be nice to see the driver's seat tidied up a bit (as much as is really possible from all the wear/ damage on it).

2k for price bought for?
Love this kind of content. More people need to save the old ICE classics and future classics! Too much EV shite around now. Save the good stuff!
Gold wheels, full exhaust + valved for quiet/loud, tune/re-map & sparco seats.
All i know is that this car flies😭🔥🔥🔥buy it and keep it brotha trust me u will never get bored of it😭🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great! I own a S3 8L BAM engine as well, in dolphin grey colour.
cool transition 2:35
Looking forward to this luke , I like a good detailing video. Most of that is tree sap and will come off with a strong chemical , my old mk4 r32 had it all over it and the paint came up lovely.
Its 225 hp stock and not permanent 4wd its heldex 4wd which means its fwd until you get wheel spin then it chucks power to the rears
Owned one a few years back, great cars but needed a lot of money spending to keep on the road. This is likely to be a money pit but no doubt good content
£1500??
I’m wondering what the roof rails will look like after being stood so long they rot like crazy
1200
Good car lots of power brilliant for the snow and ice and summer time, clean her up give her a nice service and take it for a drive 👍🏼
Can’t wait for this build ❤❤
8:53 - 9:17 noises, which part of the suspension is that noise coming from?
I also have those noises (not that extreme) when the weather is really hot.
If i remember right these S3 were the fastest 1.8 cars of thier time. My cousin had one, what a 🚀
Nice, shouldn't take too much to look a lot better. I would wear a mask when going in the car.
Def hasnt been lying for.5yrs without being cleaned.. steering wheel is fine for a start
This will be brilliant Luke nice one mate .... your fast becoming my favourite youtuber I love your channel it's brilliant 👏
I would enjoy watching the car get a full detail. Looking forward to the vids with this car.
Me and your are the same 😂😂😂 i thought i had the highest millage but you do i got in blue aswell but my steering is really heavy tho might have to check it out
Audi VW fan here, that car definitely has potential to be restored to classic .
Subscribed and here for the Audi. Looking forward to the next one 👍
Great find will be so good watching the next episode. You have to do a complete detail
Will come up superb.
I bet just with a full service the engine will sound sweater.
Be interesting how the underside looking
Great car Good luck
Stroke the engine to 2.0L go for big power and maybe a body kit 👀
Bring back some BMW content. I miss that.
Wicked video can’t wait to see the full transformation 👏🏾👏🏾
Its not even that bad. What do u expect with a car lying 5yrs
Tree lovers and huggers won’t be happy
Possum 💩 mate not “tree droppings” 😂😂😂
