The whole video has an incredible mood. The rain and the mist and then the new crisp morning. Absolutely beautiful. And your images are really stunning. You framed each composition perfectly and the depth of field, especially on the first first shot was compelling. Nicely done.
Light leaks are good. Kind of like finger prints on an image. Unless it blows out the entire frame, I now think of them as serendipity. I just bought myself a Fuji 6690ii. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but will soon, as my son asked me to shoot photos of him and his girlfriend with it.
Good to see you back with a real camera Tim, Im afraid you lost me with all that smartphone malarky ;) Im glad I checked back into your channel to see what you were up to.
Great video Tim, I think I would rather go here than Swallow Falls. I went to Swallow Falls last October as we were on our way to Llyn Ogwen, it was so busy even though the weather wasn’t great and there was simply too much water, I’ve yet to find one of my photos that I can make anything of.
Thanks Brian - I originally set my satnav for Swallow Falls but as my route passed by this other waterfall I had to stop once I recognised the location. I've only done Swallow Falls once before and did feel it was a bit over-hyped. Really frustrated with light leak as the conditions were great for that particular fall.
Look forward to your future ventures with the Pentax 67. I have just dipped my toes back into film after 40 years with the purchase of a Mamiya 6 (6x6) and awaiting the arrival of a Voigtlander Bessa II (6x9). I will shoot B & W initially and have purchased basic developing kit, etc - yet to use. So this is a new adventure for myself also. I have kinda turned my back on the latest and greatest modern tech and have also purchased old CCD sensor digital cameras aka Nikon D200 and Canon G2. For me It's about the experience and engagement with the craft and one's subject/surroundings. I will be printing more too in 2024 - own pleasure. Great to see you out and about again.
I did look at the Mamiya 6x6 as I love the square format, also seriously considering developing myself. Might give the cinestill kit a try. Totally agree about it being about the experience and simply enjoying the process, if the final result is half decent it's a bonus!
@@timday I thought the music nailed it, a perfect ending to the video. My wife was in the room when it started, and I told her, that it must be the climax of the video because Tim's epic music had come on. ;-)
Great video and images.... before Xmas bought a couple of 35mm film cameras which I'm experimenting with, and like you said in car I'm really enjoying the process, and ATM I don't even know if camera is working, but still loving it and the expectation . Looking forward to seeing more of your work, take care
That is awesome, it's hard to convey how enjoyable the experience is, It is great to know a few of us are in the same mindset. Have you considered developing yet? I might be attempting it soon 😕
@timday yeah probably going to put the gear together over the coming months, just waiting for a negative holder to be delivered to try in my old scanner . Admire your medium format and hope to try that as well. I look forward to seeing more of your retro adventures, but also your gadgets in your wildlife trails
Sadly not, the MLU feature was the reason I went for it as I know that mirror slap can be an issue. It was advertised as a 67 MLU late model but noticed when it arrived it had no MLU button. A check of the serial suggests it's an early 6x7 but has been reconditioned at some point with newer model parts. I could have returned it, but was happy with the price and loved it regardless. So far the lack of MLU doesn't appear to have caused any issues.
I get you, it's probably one of the biggest hurdles to shooting film and the price will probably keep going up. Although it's an extra cost, compared with traveling costs, accommodation, parking food etc it is a small element in the grand scale.
Honestly some of the worst landscape images I have ever seen, proof that mf doesnly mean better images.. So bad you make Henry turner and Paul Compton look like masters of the genre Harsh but the truth
I agree there were some very poor images, although one or two I did rather rather like but all photography is subjective. I made a point of being honest and transparent, showing every single frame from that roll of film. For me this is learning a new discipline and as I said early on, the experience overshadows the result. I'm not looking to win competitions, sell you anything or teach you anything. This is simply an honest personal documentation - if others can find value from it or simply enjoy watching that's a bonus 🙂

Thanks for your kind words Rachel, it was a really memorable trip.
As always Tim I look forward to all your vlogs as you show so much and so informative.🤩🤩🤩
Thanks as always mate 😊

Love that mindset, it certainly adds a touch of organic character.

A Tim Day special just says it all 👑 Wonderful video and images 👋
Cheers mate, really enjoyed this once albeit a little challenging at times.

Terrific video and super images. We’d never know that you are “new” to film photography. The Timusic was very peaceful and relaxing.
Thanks as always 😊, music for this one was a tough call, unsure if it was too slow but I feel it did the job.

Nice to see you've not given up on film...and i smiled when i saw yiu went for the P67 heavy weight :)
Annoyingly it wasn't the advertised version, but once it was in my hands I wasn't sending it back 🤣 Absolutely love it!
@@timday does it have the Mirror Lock up button on the side? If so, be careful of catching that one unintentionally

@@timday it's only if you go under 1/60th that the mirror causes issues really. If your tripod is solid it's not too bad
I spy a waterfall in said video......
Just the one 😁
£2.00 every time you press the shutter …. Nah
