- Some astonishing landscape photography conditions that I've simply never experienced before. All my best laid plans went out the window during a period of stunning hoar frost, which mean I had to pivot from my original plans and find some new areas to explore....

Magic, truely magic scenes, really enjoyed those Stu!
Cheers matey 👍
I would suggest even if you have watched this already, watch it again on a big screen , really is spectacular. Stuart I can see why this trip will stay with you, so many stunning images from you and the rest of your mates at the end , just superb ! 👌. Really enjoyed watching that , was a real pleasure.
Cheers Lee I only ever watch TH-cam on a tv really so I’ve always filmed everything in 4k for that reason, drone footage etc just looks so much better that way. Thanks for watching mate
Awesome trip and shots Stuart. Thanks for virtually single handedly flying the flag for British photographers on YT. I'm sorry to say most are an absolute embarrassment to landscape photography. and most continually keep churning out complete and utter rubbish just to earn some money with no respect or passion (like you) for photography. I particularly loved the bit when you said you were not filming as you wanted to get the shots. Most on YT film first and getting any good shots is just secondary and a bonus if they do. I watch in total disbelief as they concentrate on B roll and I see comp after comp after comp they just can't see or miss then the shot they show is some frikkin blade of grass found within a spectacular landscape scene! Anyway rant over and keep up the good work Stuart always a pleasure to see some proper landscape photography being done!
Cheers Roger, that’s the platform sadly. A huge audience base of largely novices that a lot of the time don’t really know what they’re looking at for the most part as they’ve not really been exposed to decent quality photography a lot of the time. There’s a bit of decent photography on here though it’s a small pond.
Refreshing to hear this on here, yep, Stu is one of very few on here who can claim to be a professional landscape photographer, with the portfolio to back it up. This was discussed at length, so much so I was a gnats hair away from shooting my own video about everything I hate about YT, lol
@@StuartMcGlennon Thanks Stuart yup 100% agreed. It's literally the blind leading the blind for the most part these days. Anyway please keep up the fantastic work. Like I said. It's such a refreshing change to see proper landscapes being shot..oh and the ones at the end by others are good too!
@@GregWhitton Thanks Greg. Yes you absolutely must shoot that. As I just said earlier its literally the blind leading the blind these days leading British Landscape photography in a downward spiral unfortunately. Btw you got some fab shots too Greg
Simply Subline Stuart 🥰👏📷👍🏻
Thanks pal 👍
Incredible images Stuart, favourites being the frozen Lock and the 2 trees in the mist. Those conditions don't present themselves very often, and you captured them beautifully, as did the guys 👍🏻👏🏼
Thanks very much 👍
First shot by Greg is an absolute stunner
Thanks Jonathan, appreciated :)
It certainly is
Magic stuff Stuart, thanks for making me envious! Oscar nomination for Demi.
Cheers Mike yeah he’s reluctantly exploring the video stuff himself
Wow, what a trip & stunning images in the bag, brilliant.👍👍👍
Thanks Mark
Lovely work Stuart. A misty, ancient woods takes some beating. Much epicness.
Thanks Dale
All there is to say is WOW. Fabulous conditions and as always your compositions are outstanding. Great stuff!
Thanks Dennis 👍
Wow! Wonderful light expertly handled, Stuart, crafted into a bevvy of stunners 🙌🏻
Thanks 🙏
Incredible work, the saying is that if you get 12 portfolio level images in a year you're doing well.. looks like you filled that quota in one trip!
Cheers Martin was certainly very productive, probably 3 or 4 will make the portfolio
What an astonishing trip, fabulous light and conditions. Lucky you!
Thanks yes we were!
Amazing conditions and some stunning images from everyone on that trip
Thanks Ian
Sometimes the unexpected gives you the best shots…these ones you showed are epic❤
Assynt is ‘A’ place I have to visit..same as Loch Affric & Spittal beach (for the rocks, I learned of, from yourself)
You are so lucky to get our awesome light and conditions from your visits…love it👍
Thanks Jacqueline 👍 we were indeed very fortunate this trip, though it isn’t always like this I’ve had 8 years of tramping up here in absolutely garbage conditions previously so it made a nice change! 😂
Wow! The more I see of Assynt the more I think I need to explore. These conditions are just beautiful, you've got some of my favourite shots of yours in this video.
Thanks Tom it’s a stunning place well worth visiting
All of them were absolutely stunning
👍👍👍
Perfect timing to be up there in such wonderful conditions
Certainly was
Phenomenal images Stuart (and colleagues). Insane conditions & light.
Thanks Keith 👍
Incredible Stuart, never seen Assynt with a hoar frost before! Amazing photography!
Thanks Matthew
Beautiful work. The softness and restraint bring so much to the atmosphere
Thanks Howard
Fantastic video Stuart, and another example from you that as a photographer of any level, to a large degree you make your own luck. The difference being you certainly know how to make the most of it. Stunning images and footage throughout. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and so refreshing from the normal technical overload that many others photographers on YT seem to produce.
Cheers Rob - technical spiel is easy and a safety net for many
Now that was a great day - top images 👏👏
Thanks matey
What a fantastic video. Superb conditions and amazing shots. 👏
Thanks Paul
Absolutely stunning scenery perfectly captured by you and the groups shots. Probably your best video to date in my opinion. Never have I watched a video that made me just want me to grab my bag and get out and take photographs. Thanks for the great content.
That’s very kind thanks Alan, I certainly enjoyed putting this together more than many other videos which helps!
Super photos 👍👏Great video - can only say WOW
Cheers 👍👍
I really tried not to watch as it is an area I truly love and always miss it. Spectacular pictures. Makes me long to go back, which I will next month. If only I persuade my wife to live there!
Thanks very much Paul best of luck with your trip
Wow... I´m seriously envious of the landscapes you have over there... great shots!
Thanks Martin
Such great video Stuart and if your plans are going to get burned then this is the way to do it. So many great images to enjoy including the ones from the other guys too. Can see a second book in the making considering all the wonderful images you have captured in recent times 🙂
Thanks very much Jim
I have sat here for a minute or so thinking what to write...not quite sure other than wow.. just speechless. Somewhere through this video I pressed pause to take in the image you had posted - it was in the 1st batch but then if I had done that everytime I wanted to take it in I would be here all night. Stu, it would be really helpful if you & your travelling mates got together and prduced a zine or a book (tell Greg I am still waiting, lol) documenting this trip.! Atb Al
That’s very kind Alan thanks - bonkers conditions to be honest, pressure was on!
Great images and drone footage (what you could get) Stuart. It's fantastic, and quite rare, for everything to come together not only for photography but to be 'in the moment'. Thanks for the video.
👍👍
Wow what an incredible set of pictures and an exciting assignment for you both.
Thanks Kathryn 👍
Some brilliant photos there Stuart. I thought the video was going to be full of Mountain View’s how wrong was I. Great scenery and nature at its best.
Thanks very much Stephen
Absolutely stunning conditions and amazing images Stu, and drone footage, aswell as those images by the lads. Its about time Greg got back on the vlogging horse. Defo should start scouting for a larger gallery. Really lovely video
Cheers Lisa 👍
Spectacular
👍
You're going to need a bigger shop at this rate 😂 That last woodland shot is beautiful ❤
Haha cheers
Absolutely stunning! Fantastic images and a great video to document them!
Thanks for watching 👍
Wow Stuart what a fantastic video with such beautiful scenes your photos are on a different level really enjoyed this one😊
Cheers John much appreciated
Some great shots from you and the others. Brilliant!
Thanks Kenny
Hi Stuart, not at all hard to see why that trip will live long in the memory .. somewhat lost for words to be honest, but what I will say is thanks for sharing. Wow !
That’s Steve
What an amazing area and stellar images! Your photography is fantastic!
Thanks very much 👍
Genuinely can't believe those images. Outstanding by everyone involved.
On a side note, it was actually enjoyable to see the bit of a blooper with the "Jackpot" line. The professionalism in all the videos is top notch but a video of bloopers and tongue twisters would be a great watch.
Also, it sounds like you were taking the world's longest piss during one of the scenes.
My favourite video to date.
Thanks pal, which bit?
Around 9 minutes 46. Clearly a little stream close by.
Now that’s how it’s done! ❤ thanks for bringing us all along Stuart to a truly magnificent experience you must have had
Cheers Andy 👍
Beyond stunning!
Cheers Robin
An absolutely fantastic video.
Cheers Ian
Wow!! . Thanks for sharing Stuart.👍👍👍
Thanks Mark
Stuart... those woodland images are simply spectacular. Really blown away by them. Thanks for sharing them.
Thanks David that’s very kind
F*#@ing Ace….great title that’d make. Cracking video Stuart, really got across the beauty of the area and some amazing images shared from the others. Only rain and wind in the forecast for me next week in Glencoe. 🥴
Thanks pal I hope it picks up for you, weather is so up and down at the moment
Whaaaaaaaat?!! Awesome! Great conditions, cool shots!
Wow, what a treat. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Dirk 👍👍
What an amazing set of images bud!!!!!! Wow. Not much more to say really!
Thanks pal
Great video, stunning condition 😃
Thanks very much
Outstanding images.
👍
Fantastic video Stuart!
👍👍
WOW... I think you need to change your name to, Stuart Hoar Frost McGlennon. You're a magnet for it! Beautifully processed work!
Haha I’ve been very fortunate this past 12 months
A great video.
👍
wow, stunning.
Thanks 👍
Beautiful images. Images from the lads are all great plus tell Greg he really needs to start publishing and TH-cam again
Thanks Danny
Great photos looks like quite a trip
Thanks David
The trees at 3:55 - sheeeeesh. Absolutely magical. Doesn't look real! We have different kinds of trees here in the PNW in North America, but I do love the trees of the UK. Lots of twisting branches that are a little lower to the ground. Love it.
We’ve got quite a diverse range of trees in the UK though the temperate rainforest types like in this video are fairly rare, and the ones that do exist are usually quite well known. This place (to my knowledge anyway) is pretty much untouched from photography which was great.
The kind of experiences we all dream about. Stunning stuff, as usual.
Thanks Derek 👍
As you say, Stuart - incredible 👏
Cheers Bob
Oh, wow, Stuart. Those are some of the most beautiful images I've seen in a long time of cold weather scenes. Thanks for sharing them this way. -Deanne
Was up that way in December trying to find the Pink house, wasted about half day. Wish id gone here now instead because the weather looked similar to the video. Great images.
Cheers
Wow, stunningly beautiful! Certainly epic conditions for landscape photography resulting in some outstanding images.
😮😮 Incredible Stuart! I really enjoyed the vid. All the images are great IMO. I particularly like the woodland images and your editing style beautifully compliments those fantastic conditions👏👏👏
Thanks Matt much appreciated
Have to say Stuart.
I am glad you stopped filming and consecrated on the images.
Absolutely stunning ❤
Fabulous video Stuart, I was in awe when I seen the conditions when you were actually there, really awesome
Cheers Mark it was a really memorable week
Simply stunning images Stuart! Stunning! What a trip!
Thanks Huw much appreciated 👍
The video got better and better. Those conditions were making me giddy with excitement!!
Thanks very much 👍
Another great video Stuart. You are helping me see things that normally I would walk right by. I am learning more about composition in every video. Thanks for sharing the photos at the end of the video. There were several Wow photos.
Very kind Paul thanks
Absolutely epic!!! It must've felt like all your Christmasses had come at once, for each and everyone of you on this trip to Assynt. Did you have to pinch yourselves, repeatedly? No wonder why you all produced some magnificent images to be mega proud of.👏👏👏
Cheers Ian much appreciated
Fab images, thanks!
Thanks Dominic
Astonishing video, Stuart. Absolutely inspiring images. I’m so jealous
Thanks mate 👍
The spindly tree is the star - definitely the Jackpot, don't apologize for Woodland overload.
Sometimes light is mostly the subject matter, and i think they done very well
OK then. Tuned in. Very glad I did, mate 😊👍
Cheers fella
Brilliant video Stuart. Would you mind if I asked where the Loch in the last location was please? I'm up that way in a couple of weeks, on my way to Lewis and Harris, and loved that shot with the mountains in the background. Thanks very much.
Thanks Andrew I forget then name of it though the mountain behind it I think is Arkle
@@StuartMcGlennon thank you Stuart.
Looks like you've really made the most of the winter conditions this year, some real bangers in the bag, and those shots of your colleagues - superb!
What can I say mate, FairPlay that was a good watch!
👍
epic shots all round Stuart, cheers.
Thanks Mick
Another great video Stuart, form the image shown it looks like everyone had a very profitable time shooting in Assent,
Thanks Adrian
Wow. I am not sure whether I still like you, Stuart!
Haha cheers
Lovely. Some beauties for the NLPA''s perhaps?
Cheers David yep maybe a couple
Absolutely stunning Stuart💙💙💙
Beautiful photography Stuart.
Thanks Trevor
Fantastic conditions and photos 👌🙂
Thanks Stig
@@StuartMcGlennon 🙂👍
That was truly inspiring. Awesome 😀
Some cracking photos, Stuart. Great video.
Some Fantastic images, nice one
Thanks Paul
Great video Stu, really captured the trip well. Only disappointment was that Lochinver Larder was shut...to be honest, that ruined the whole thing for me ;)
Totally ruined it 😂
Brilliant pal 🤘
Cheers mate
Sublime.
Magical photography
You "mistpoke" about the mist? 🙂
Great video Stuart. Can I ask what tripod you have? I’m after a decent height carbon fibre with no centre column. Yours looks nice
Thanks Ian it a sunwayfoto one I’m testing for them, think it’s a TC40 something or other, seems very good
That trip was an event.
It was!
Hello Stuart,
I came across your TH-cam channel while doing a comparative search between the Z 24-200 and Z 24-120.
I would like to know what equipment you are using today.
Do you still have the Z 24-200 or have you opted for the Z 24-120?
I saw that you have shots at 350mm; do you also have the Z 100-400?
Thank you in advance.
I had to stop your video at 13.30 . Only by this there was a chance to realize that quality image ! I suppose you have to make your gallery bigger to show this amount of cracking shots .
Haha thanks Claus 👍
Hi. I have still to watch the rest of your video, but just had to stop it as there’s something which drives me NUTS, and that is the wrong pronunciation of the name `Assynt’. Please, please, please……….the emphasis is on the `A’, not the `synt’. Pass it on to the rest of the TH-cam photographers! I know I’m being pedantic, but it just sounds ridiculous to a native Scot. Apologies for the rant. Now I’ll go and watch the rest of the video, which I have no doubt will be excellent!
I’d say you’re probably worrying about the wrong things if that drives you nuts
Sad.
