*I would say it’s dang good since **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s caught a pike first time using it! My cousin had one that cost the same price I paid, but for one. And didn’t catch anything. I say it’s a winner!*
I’m definitely picking up some of those hooks! I need the xtra weight but my weighted worm hooks make it stick to the grass and lillies. Good advice about constant reeling as well!
I take the double hooks out of frogs and put a weedless hook down. You can drag it over any debri and hook sets are X 5. I also keep my rod at 90% to the side so I can give some line when they strike.I'll try your rig also.
Hey, Cameron! You're not kidding bud. Tried out the Horny Toad after my buddy sent me your link and bam! Got a 18.5" out of the lily pads & managed to get my very first Pike (24") ever also in the pads. Sweet vid, and thanks for the tips
Great instruction, I've been struggling in the pads with frogs. I have some of these zoom baits that i forgot about, but will try next time. New sub man, keep up the good work.
Watermellon and white Zoom frogs did so well last yr in N. Wisconsin. Bought 5 bags only to go back to the store and buy the last 3 on the shelf. Best soft bait I've used in 15 yrs. Weighted hook is key
So a friend bought me a bag and rah-rah-ed these ZOOM guys as much as you did. No interest from bass in my pond so I came back to watch this vid again (thanks for it, btw!). I was setting the rig hook wrong so fixed that and tried again. So here's my question, after again getting no interest: 1) Had no weighted hooks so used a bullet (bad idea?) and it also turns like a barrel when reeling in (line twist?). Thoughts, anyone? TIA....Frustration reigns!
good video man. The paddle frog slaps no doubt. I personally do it weightless, bc i don't like the sink once you cast and you have to reel fast to make up lost space. But i actually like them better than a hollow frog
i got some of these last week and have had one real trip (got rained out 20 minutes in TWICE). have already had a TON of action on them. even one of the nights i got rained out after 20 minutes i caught one and missed a couple. i seem to actually catch MORE on these frogs than the regular frogs.
usually do fish through the rain, as long as there's no lightning. have only had a few chances of rain AND no lightning this year, but the fishing is almost always great in that situation.
@@conedx - Usually! I fished for two hours in the rain last night and only got one hit (and I missed it.) It's a trial of patience when you see them swimming all around you and you get nada.
My PB of 11 lbs 5 oz. caught on a junebug Horny Toad. Another day on same fishery I caught a 5 fish limit of 28 pounds. A seven pounder, 2 six pounders, a five and a four pounder. In about 90 minutes.
sorry I am just now seeing this comment. I used to swear by spiderwire on spinning gear. Now with baitcasters I've literally tried about 10 different brands. If you fish heavy cover and weeds you will want atleast 50lb braid. I only use fluorocarbon when fishing crankbaits. and that is 15-17lb. But I've found the Diawa J Braid to work well and the Power Pro+ Its all very similar, but you really want to find a braid that has a smooth feel to it baitcasters are notorious to flatten braid such as spiderwire. I would probably buy the J braid in 50 or 65lb test. Dark moss green!
Well it’s not topwater though, it’s only topwater if you retrieve it fast enough. Also I respectfully disagree with the advice to always reel in fast. If that doesn’t work try pause once in a while, especially in a clear water hole in a grass bed.
most of these early videos were made/recorded in my time off from work which was very slim. worked 70+ hours a week since i got out of college. so I was probably super tired but still trying to produce content for viewers.
@@cameroncreamerfishing Kudos to you for the polite reply to rudeness. Sign of a good man. Worse than snobby teenage girls in this comment section. I came to learn about frog lures. Which you did a fine job of teaching, early video or not. Thank you.
Ahhh you’re a 3/0 man as well. It’s nice to see another man of culture
Looks like a great lure I will definitely get me a few of them
Good luck!

Definitely agree, The zoom horny toad had gotten me pike and bass for years . Ill use others , but have to have these first

I'm gonna try your method as well! Tight lines!
@@cameroncreamerfishing Do a video. My method is time tested.👍

I like ribbits more
What size line you use on that bait caster
at the time of the video probably 40-50lb braid. Now I throw on lighter 30lb braid depending on how thick the cover is.

Can I use 5/0 Gamakatsu Swimbait Hook with 3/16oz lead on the belly ?
You should try the ribit toads they have big broad feet that are good if u want more splash behind your bait for when there's some ripple on the water
love a hollow body frog but miss a lot of hooksets. thank you for the video. cant wait to try one!
Cool bait. My last video shows it in action! Best bait at low tide! Double toad hook works great too. Subbed and liked.
Just bought a pack of these and cant wait to use them.
Very Helpful. Thanks.
u can pause, especially in padds. stop it next to a pad.... think like a frog. but yes zoom toads are amazing
This bait has pulled up probably 75lbs worth of bass for me since late May
You are absolutely right.. i used this horny toad brought back a huge 5.82 lb monster.
Now its all i use and i rigged like you said.

Same bro. the Stanley Top Toad is also DYNAMITE
Stanley top toad is also great if you ever want to try a hybrid!
You said wicked nice vibration, are you from the northeast by chance??
Mainer born and raised!
Cool video. I just picked a pack up. Never fished any kind of topwater frogs before so I'm looking forward to it.
I have yet caught a bass on top water so if this works for me I'll be subscribing! Lol
Can't seem to find hooks like that where I live, where do you get yours from?
tackle warehouse
Just bought some Gonna try em out👍
Hope you enjoy
Use weighed hooks for topwater??

You should fish through the rain, and stick with shallow running or top water. The bass come up really shallow in the rain and are hunting.

Dylan Castle they're worthless. if your gonna get some get the kind that have the swim bait style rear legs
@@theonetheonlyw5483 I've caught many bass on these lures...so much that I've run out of frogs... worthless? You must not bass fish much😂😂😂
Dylan....you can also retreive and stop ever so often...lots of hits when it falls toward bottom
new sub good stuff
I throw those but I love the rage shad
The horney to at red flake is my go to in my neighborhood lily pad ponds
my favorite plastic to use brush hogs are 2nd favorite
both awesome baits!
brush hogs and lizards are my "go to". if i can't catch something on those two, then fish are a myth that don't exist.
Great video though man..
try Owner 5/0 twist lock weighted hook. I love the horny toad. we call them C4, Because they are the bomb
Haven't tried these yet. Just picked up a pack can't wait to try it out this spring! Thanks for the tips man 👍

What's the Best bait casting combo for $80?
for 80 I'd get the abu garcia black Max. if you can swing 90 get the lews carbon blue
New to bait caster. I've been with spinning reel my hole life but I want to try something different. What line is the best?

what size off set hook you use?
david bautista 5/0 ewg is my favorite
What was the intro song
zoom and strike king are like gmc and chevy you see a lot of strike king baits with different names but same bait as zoom
What state u in?
I have caught a lot of bass on that lure.
Mainahhhh
You betcha

Tony Dulac yes sir
nice man. add me on Facebook I live in harpswell. we should get together sometime soon.
Tony Dulac no way dude. I do a ton of work down that way. I'll hit you up!
Cameron Creamer Fishing yea man do that...I caught some great smallmouth this weekend!!!
best bass bait my ass!
They cost 5.99 here in stayton Oregon!
If big bass are going to eat it like u said why don’t u make a video of you catching some big bass on it....would be much more interesting
Extra wide gap
thanks
It's not called a wide grip hook it's a wide gap hook
Music at intro too loud
Ya their durable unless you fishing for peacocks
Add: Won't stay up on the shank, either....
Would work if you actually film yourself catching a bass anybody can talk about catching fish
I much prefer the strike Kings super toads. I had even better success than I did with the horny toads.
7 lb is not a lunker
Nah duh you like using zoom better, zoom is the best
Why do people put obnoxious music at the start of their fishing videos. We're fisherman, not pre-teen girls!
Nice video. Gay music
Start 3:30. And 98% of video did not showing the lures and rig. All we see is his face.
