@@Mika-ph6ku I saw them, but that's to be expected from cars with poor ratings overall. There are cars that came out a decade ago from other brands, that have shot up in value. For example; The Gen 4 Viper: They haven't even wavered in value, as if time means nothing to them. Plus, it's Gen 5 descendant now costs $350K, rather than the $120K it used to cost. 🤷♂️

@@nxtro999 depending on the aero, you should definitely be hitting the 220 range assuming the power is actually getting down to the wheels.
also toyotas are notoriously underpowered, the supra only makes 280hp stock, the gr86 only makes 220hp, the thing is they handle really well, the gr86 especially, 200hp is more than enough, and if you've never driven the 86, you wouldn't know, they spent 10 years perfecting every last inch of it, so that it was a dream to drive, if hp really is your end all be all, you can find more than enough aftermarket parts, it's a toyota.
thinking about 0 to 60 at twelve years? lets be realistic, twelve year olds only want a million horse power and big spoiler.

@Ed Findlay Mazda's are 1000x more fun to drive, just as reliable, better interiors, and cost about as much to buy and maintain. Anyone who buys a new corolla over a 3, or Camry over a 6 didnt test drive the Mazda first.

As a 2010 Corolla owner that still driving it to this day, I agree about the reliability and the words at the end. "No one's first choice, everyone's daily driver." Yep. I thought of going for a Nissan Almera but I humbly accept to own the 2010 Altis instead because my dad refused to sell it and we have like 3 cars now
2013 Altis here, and damn I wouldn’t sell it for anything. I’m surprised we even sold the 2007 Fortuner, though it was to get the 2018 one.

well about toyotas not being the first choice... my parents always had toyotas till my mother switched to Lexus a few years ago but its still a toyota. my first car was a '96 toyota crown which is also quite rare here in the states and still have it and in about 4 to 5 months im hoping to get the new GR86 aswell.
I like Toyota Mark X. It’s an aggressively looking powerful comfortable RWD sedan. Like Camry but for men.
It shouldn't be too hard to get a GR86 since the new Z exists

Hell, they don't even have a hard time with their motorsport branch right now. They won or at least be competitive in nearly every motorsports they can get inside.

I can't tell you how cool it was growing up in south Florida in the 90s to the 00s. Imports were everywhere and what people did with them was amazing. Toyota was seen as that cool car you could tune up the way you want it.
Now I look at the new "supras" and wonder where the magic went.

Lets be honest. All the internals and engine are from Subaru. Same thing with the Supra being all BMW. Did toyota tune these cars? Yes. Heck, the Supra even has the BMW chime 😆

@@Lexor888 I meant the GR Yaris which is basically a road legal WRC Rallye car (and only shares few parts with the normal Yaris, has over 260HP and is hand built by Toyota in Japan unlike the regular Yaris), but okay not everyone had the pleasure to see these in action and knows what a true beast these GR Yaris are

@@chalkem3305 It is quite controllable, because the suspension has nothing to do with the suspension found in the stock Yaris.
To further make the car stable it is governed at 230kph (plus having things like ESC and Traction Control) and has AWD with several ways to split power (like 50:50 or 25:75).
And to not have any problems with fuel the engine was actually a little bit detuned to take "normal" octane rating to not rely on race fuel - however a japanese tuning company managed to squeeze more than 400hp out of the GR Yaris and the best part is, that the car is manual transmission only with a real handbrake :D

But you’ll get a nice GT86 for around 18k here in Europe. I think that’s rather obtainable, especially when a person puts in the effort into some minor side hustling.

The most enthusiast focused cars on the market are the German brigade, BMW and VAG made their cars very tuner friendly, case and point just buy a base BMW F30 320i + stage 1 bootmod3 and you already have 350hp at your disposal.

Had a 2002 Toyota Solara. I put 135,000 miles on that thing and did absolutely nothing to it but change the oil and battery once. It was basically a 2 door Camry. I gave it to my brother and he sold it. I imagine it’s still on the road. Great Car. Reliable as hell.
