  • In this episode of Salty Believer Unscripted, Josiah Walker and Bryan Catherman share their expectations for the 2024 annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). With Dr. Jeff Iorg and Dr. Al Mohler contending for different outcomes on a major constitutional matter involving women as pastors, this year may get spicy. Of course, we say that every year. Then everything quickly dies down and not much ever comes of the work during the meeting. What’s going to happen this year? Probably a lot of ight with no heat. What’s at the heart of the biggest issues for this year? Probably the same thing as previous years--identity. Also, Bryan is leaving the SBC for the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA). Will that change is thoughts about the upcoming meeting? Listen to this episode and find out. You can listen to Salty Believer Unscripted wherever you get your podcasts or listen here. It seems to me that if each church has local autonomy. Then they have the right to leave the SBC if they don't agree with the faith and practice of the SBC. The SBC does not believe in women in ministry then so be it. Stay and conform or leave. Pretty simple.
