I have a Snow mpg max kit installed on my 16 duramax & i set it up almost identically to how you have yours setup. I haven't seen a huge improvement in MPG but the EGTs are drastically reduced and i can definitely feel a HP/TQ increase. It doesnt push you into your seat like nitrous, you just more or less catch up to traffic alot faster & easier.
Cool video. I want to add it to my 2018 Cummins. I also have all the emissions hooked up, but haven’t had any problems yet. There’s not much info on TH-cam in regards to these systems. Thanks for the ideas!
Thanks for the video very informative. I’m installing a Snow Performance stage 3 on my 2019 6.7 Superduty. There isn’t a lot of information on the water meth injection. I’m running the PPEI tunes and to use the SOTF +230 HP tune PPEI recommends the water meth injection so I’m doing it. They say it will help keep the DPF happy
Depends on how you drive and what settings you use. If I drive like a normal person just crusing around from A to B, I might only use half a gallon in a month. If I drive aggressively or tow every day I can use a couple gallons a month. Currently I start spraying at 10psi of boost. With a lower starting point, I would go through methanol faster
You can, a lot of people do it. Just clean all the DEF residue out first. At the time I installed the kit I wasn't deleted so I had to use a separate tank.
I have heard of people doing it. If you take the heater out and the pump and clean the tank good I cant see any reason why not to use the def tank for meth
I own a 2012 and it deleted. Runs good but I'm looking to buy a methanol kit. Will I need a tune after installing? I don't know to much about about it. I don't have a programmer. Just deleted and it was done before I bought the truck. Can you help me?
I did at the time of making this video. Water/meth is supposed to help lengthen the time between regens. I have found that if you spray meth at too low of a boost, it makes the truck regen more often. The size of the nozzle tho plays a big roll. Small nozzle you can spray at really low boost. I run 2 large nozzles so I don't spray under 9psi
Nice introduction video, are you in a smog state? If so are you planning on removing everything for smog tests? I’m way interested in easy and cheap power with fuel mileage. You didn’t mention the tunner name, just that you haven’t loaded any tunes yet. Please keep up the post’s.
I live in the only county in nv that smog diesels. Meth kits are 50 state legal from what I've ready and have no plans to remove anything for the next test. I have a toggle switch i can use to turn the kit off if I want to or need it. I have tunes from proven diesel
It's spring loaded. If I remember correctly, it takes 20psi of preasure to open it. This prevents any siphoning effect from air passing by the nozzle at high speed and sucking the methanol out.

Both, they do totally different jobs. Def us sprayed into the exhaust to reduce nox. Meth is sprayed into the intake to lower egts and add power Of course if you are deleted,the def is deleted too

They recommend a solenoid at the tank but it's only purpose is to avoid draining out if a line tween the tank and nozzles gets cut or melts. I felt like it was just one more part to fail and I didn't include it.
Very well. No complaints at all. Think I start spraying at 10psi now but other then that, nothing has changed since I made this video. Still very happy with the kit.

Yes absolutely. Both at wot and just daily driving. I've had the kit turned off the last couple days and just cruising around the difference is night and day. Takes more throttle input with the meth off to accelerate at the same pace as when the meth is turned on. Turbo spools faster with the meth on as well
Love the increase in diesel content. Havent seen a lot about methanol on diesels, especially the newer trucks.

I'd be curious how the dpf does on that tune. My tuner won't go over 150hp when the dpf is still in place

No tune needed. I have a 200hp tune on my truck but I had tunes for the truck before I got the methanol. It's bolt on and go

Unfortunately, no. I needed the diesel and couldn't afford two trucks so had to sell the f150
Wouldn’t a check valve only prevent flow from the engine to the tank?..or is it a spring operation that requires a specific psi to allow flow thru it?

What do u do in the winter to prevent freezing?
Nothing.
30% methanol is good to -20*.
50/50 mix is good to -40*.
The coldest I've driven in is -5* and with a 30/70 mix it never froze
