JSU killing it
Both fire JSU trumpets are very strong
JSU is extremely versatile. Like, I appreciate the subtle intricacies of their show. Not just holding whole notes and such. No slight to SU, they sound great and much much better than last year. All the bands really came with a nice presentation for the beginning of the season. 👏🏽👏🏽
100 percent agreee
Da Boom, The best show of the BOTB! 5stars from start to finish! 🙌🏾🔥 Can’t wait to see them live next month.
Nah fr
I am a big JSU fan 💯 SU is a favorite nice job by both bands, but thee i love gets this one . I will definitely be in the house on September 14th in Jackson, Mississippi. I looking forward to a great battle 💯 Not being negative, but Southern disappointed me last season . Much love from the D Detroit Michigan.
💯 appreciate you take for sure
JSU trumpets r almost too aggressive. They murdered that intro to that Madonna song.
Y’all ask for trumpets now you got em…let’s not complain. 😩
@@jheht2000 I'm not. I'm a fan of da boom and jukebox. I have no tides to either although I had fam to graduate from JSU. I just don't want JSU trumpets to go against the 2023 sound. In my mind JSU 2023 sound should be the foundation moving forward. There was nothing wrong with jsu sound then nor could any band compete. JSU always had trumpets. I will say it will be a long season for all swac bands as JSU is on a mission again.
@@kentrelt5140it’s called “features” no different than hearing JSU tubas stick out on parts of a song as a “feature”
The sound this year as oppose to last year is exactly the same yet enhanced
@@MAGORDON35 naw that's a little different. I know what features are and music. The trumpets were aggressive. More so the screamers. I just want to keep that JSU 2023. I can listen to that all day on repeat. I can't think of any time I heard dawg team scream like that. Don't get me wrong. Im ok with screamers but I want JSU to always have musicality 1st. I can see other swac bands have beefed up so I'm assuming jsu have trumpfunk ready for attack
@@kentrelt5140 bro, the Madonna fanfare was musicality
The Tina Marie joint was musicality
These directors know what they’re doing
Enjoyed your commentary as usual. Jackson’s show was phenomenal. It was different from the usual JSU show….in a good way.
SU was ok. They sounded nice, but it was the same old SU halftime with different music.
Appreciate your thoughts 💯
JSU is the new show band
You mean show and tell. 😂😅
@@ljsmixbox44 I don’t get it ??
@@ScatPackHulk888
It's a joke.
They like to show who they are and they like to tell people they are the best which I think JSU is great in their own way.
I'm a JUKEBOX..but I give JSU best HBCU band for last year.
Now all these HBCU bands have to do is, not take these band battles personal because there's so much talent out there.
@@ljsmixbox44 perfect explanation!! JSU and su is the top dawgs in all hbcu
Def JSU but the speakers 🔊 in front of the band was projecting the trumpets way hard.
2 or 3 videos is not too many. Let’s get that 2k.
Come on... stop it. JSU came off the sideline into the Sonic Boom, did a step-two, and then returned to concert formation. What’s so different and phenomenal about this? I'm not saying it was a bad show-both bands look and sounded great. I'm just trying to understand why SU is getting so much flak for doing familiar drills but with different music. The step-two that JSU did has been done by many bands. Maybe the reaction is because they didn’t open with their usual fanfare of marching down the field in a JSU formation.
And keep in mind, I’m in no way hating on them. I’m just drawing a parallel and trying to see what was so different about their show. And they even still did the usual JSU rock the house. Or could it simply just be JSU fans? Which is cool but trying to look at it objectively I just don’t genuinely see what some people are saying. SU killed their show as well. JMO
Thanks for your opinion crazy thing is I marched I swac for a while but I never really paid attention to su fiekd show will keep that mind this season really appreciate you
Southern did a great job at executing the things that they always do. There’s nothing wrong with that but most recently JSU has been incorporating more elements into their shows while keeping the tradition. Both had nice projection, clean drills and energy however the SBOTS pushed the envelope a little more with their drilling. Starting with the step 2 sequence which turned into some kaleidoscope formations and lastly the lost man drilling at the end of the show
