I walked the freedom trail in Boston recently, which is supposed to be past a bunch of historical sites that were important to the founding of the country, and one of them is a chipotle. Like it used to be a famous bookstore and now it’s a chipotle.

They joke but I actually would really enjoy them commenting on the comedy of later Hardly Working sketches like "Zac bought a Whip", "You're Too Sad to Argue With" or "You Don't Actually Need a Menu". It would be interesting for them to talk about how the comedy has changed between the era's and how they would imagine the sketch premise working with the old cast. I love both era's a lot but I do think they have a different core comedy soul, and having them punch up or talk up sketches way beyond their time could be cool! I can understand their hesitation to do so though, maybe get a later CH writer to guest on the pod and watch some of their sketches?

Y'all think unique storefronts and restaurants don't still exist en masse in the US? Try visiting a city that isn't LA and NYC and you'll be shocked.
And on the same note, honestly, I can't say I have even seen bowls show up on most menus where I live (a mid-sized city of hundreds of thousands of residents).
Have y'all considered that maybe your experience isn't the universal? "Bowl culture" hasn't taken over restaurants, it's just easy for restaurants to hop onto trends to catch the people who are susceptible to trends.
lol LA still has camera shops, clock shops, mom and pop book stores and cheap specialty food shops.
Yeah nyc also has these specialty shops, maybe they're not as common in their neighborhoods
