  • Sharing this short video of my day trip at National Chung Cheng University, which was the shooting location for Meteor Garden's Ying De University. I have been meaning to visit this university (I've been here in Taiwan for over two years already haha) and I am glad I finally got the chance to go there. I will also be sharing some tips/information that I hope can be useful for those who want to visit NCCU.
    📍National Chung Cheng University
Address: No. 168, Section 1, Daxue Road, Minxiong Township, Chiayi County
    HOW TO GO THERE
    From Taipei
    1. via Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR)
Take THSR from Taipei Main Station to Chiayi
You can book THSR tickets in advance here: (en.thsrc.com.tw/)
Travel time is approximately 2-3 hrs
    2. via bus
You can go to Taipei Bus Station (beside Taipei Main Station, Taipei MRT)
The trip might take 4-5 hours (depending on traffic).
    3. via Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA)
Definitely slower than THSR, but there are express trains available that you can also choose.
You can check the schedule and book TRA tickets here (tip.railway.go.... You can also buy at the station.
    From Chiayi THSR Station
Ride Bus 106 to NCCU (English bus schedule can be found here: drive.google.c...)
Travel time is approximately 40 mins
Please consider the bus schedule when booking your train tickets
Bus 106 will stop inside NCCU campus
    From Chiayi TRA Station
    Ride Bus 106 or 7309
7309 does will not enter the NCCU campus. You need to walk a small distance.
Some tips that might help you:
    1. NCCU is open to public, however, there are buildings that might be off limits.
    2. The Administration Building has a sign that says “Tourists Not Allowed.” When I went there, the sign was disabled so I was able to explore the building but some areas were still off limits.
    3. The campus is huge so make sure to bring water and umbrella with you. There will be a lot of walking.
    4. At the Activity Center, there are convenience stores where you can buy meals and snacks. Vendos (drinks only) are also widely available in most buildings.
    5. For Bus 106, please take note that TRA and THSR are terminal stations. If you want to take THSR back to Taipei, make sure you ride the correct bus.
    6. Outside TRA Chiayi Station, taxi drivers might offer to drive you to NCCU (I was offered 300NTD one way but I politely refused). If you are traveling alone, please be safe and make sure you have mobile data. I still recommend commuting to go there, just be mindful of the schedule.
    7. Bus schedules also vary on weekends and weekdays. So please bear that in mind also when planning.
    8. The NCCU Library is open from Monday to Saturday. The complete details of the library schedule can be found here (www.lib.nccu.e....
    9. Make sure you have Easy Card or iPass for the bus and train (TRA only) rides.
