It’s called SEA World for a reason, sea animals are the best attractions they have. That’s what makes them different from other Theme parks. Hey dev, We was there in September, and they told us during or before the shows, that once the current captive orca’s they have, have passed away, and they are not actively trying to breed anymore going forward,so once the orcas that are there go, that will be the end of the orca at SeaWorld, and apparently according to them, they now only take in for recovery etc and rehabilitation purposes… and that was what changed our moral compass as such, right or wrong, but for us it was, they are already captive etc,the care we experienced while we was there seemed outstanding, the park was fantastic, the cast was really nice, laidback and it’s a better feel around the park than Disney, it seems less rush and people not so stressed and scurrying around,as it opens at 10am it was such a refreshing change than getting up super early to get to rope drops etc, my family loved that it was a more relaxed vacation, we could have a swim in the mornings, get ready and hit McDonald’s or Dunkin’s first then stroll into the park and it was a great park for us, food and drinks are a pinch 100%, but after visiting SeaWorld, aqua & Busch, it pushed Disney to 3rd place for us, universal parks 1st SeaWorld parks 2nd and Disney parks 3rd…. 🤷🏼♂️🙏🏽👍🇺🇸🏴
@@princess_niya2407so you want the orcas to die faster? If they released them now they would not survive so keeping them to live out their lives is the most humane option
Seaworld is a for-profit, not a non profit. Only 5% of your purchases go to “rescue” (literal cents) (do you REALLY trust a billion dollar corporation with a HISTORY of capturing animals from the wild to have another avenue of taking animals from the wild?????) Seaworld is actively encouraging the orca captures in russia and china right now and there are more and more orca show facilities popping up in those countries at the moment. Watch them magically “rescue” an orca from those places out of nowhere in the future, I guarantee it.
I like that we can learn about the animals in between riding coasters, and support the rescue work that they do. From what I read, that documentary was kind of a hack job. We're visiting next month.
Thank you Dev, really appreciate you doing something on Seaworld. I loved it when I went. I think Kraken was so much longer than Pipeline.. I believe if they got rid of the Orca area, they should at least build a longer coaster for the thrill enthusiasts, just my opinion.. I'm hoping you will do a video on the Hilton Seaworld and maybe show Seaworld's on property hotel.. Thanks again Dev for another great video, really appreciate it.. Have a wonderful and blessed day, I'm Out 🫡
Not sure why people still think they can just release these animals into the wild. Most of these animals are rescued and or in rehab. Take the backstage rehab tour, it’s quite educational. Funny people don’t seem to mind animal kingdom or Zoo Tampa .
I do believe the orca show is slowly going away. I read somewhere that the orcas currently in the park is all they will have. No breading, no new orcas coming from anywhere else. Once the current orcas pass away thats it.
They recently refurbished the stadium and have done new murals around the stadium. Also the stadiums have been packed. In a Q&A with passholders the President of SeaWorld said for now they’ve stopped breeding but it can come back but not in California since it’s illegal. California has crazy laws there… so many businesses want to pull out of there even citizens. So many people left California after covid because of left wing politics that were insane that they lost congressional seats and Florida was the most moved into hence why we gained congressional seats too. Anyways the president even said there will be a new parade with Shamu leading and that meet and greets with a Shamu costume is back. Also Orcas are slowly becoming extinct because the wild is an awful place so yea.. SeaWorld and Orcas are never breaking up
@@JavierAliagaOfficialthe wild is not an awful place for wild animals. If anything it’s the humans destroying the environment that’s probably killing the sea life. Not the natural section and evolution.
@@JavierAliagaOfficial It’s funny how seaworld is completely saying “the wild is dying” to support captivity, while they’re actively killing the wild in the process Go look at all the merchandise at seaworld and almost all of it is made of polyester and plastics, even the 60th anniversary plushes have glitter on them. At the seaworld in san diego, and the non-profit zoo next to us takes the time to have all of their materials environmentally-friendly while seaworld uses plastic 24/7 Just around a week ago there was an outbreak of aquarium algae in the local bay suspiciously close to seaworld
Did anyone else notice how he just causally laughs on the Kraken coaster as it goes upside down & drops ? meanwhile I would’ve passed out or had a heart attack 😂. Dev’s a savage
All it took was riding a coaster called "the mamba" at worlds of fun in Kansas city Missouri and doing aerobatic flying to get me over my dear of coasters. 😂😁
It won’t make you pass out if you learn to breathe and sit back other than it giving you an ear popper. I would not advise over doing this one though. The inversions will cause you to star up in your head and eventually pass out.
So all zoos or Disney’s animal kingdom they should get rid of all their animals ? How come it’s only this park where people want to get rid of the animals ? I thought they did a good job rescuing these animals ?
Some of us have always supported Seaworld, have always looked beyond any controversy and gone along in support of the incredible work they do that still in some corners goes unnoticed but I respect the opinions of others who the park is simply not for them . Rollercoasters are not me but the beautiful marine mammals and creatures are , I will always visit this brilliant place.
Same! Coasters and rides not my thing. I do enjoy learning and seeing the animals. I also enjoy the many shows and restaurants. I think it’s a great place for families
I completely disagree. I'm all for the orcas and I hope they never get rid of them. SeaWorld is my favorite. That movie had no affect on my life or thought process whatsoever. And the name of the park is SEAWORLD, not RIDEWORLD.
I like the orcas too but be realistic. The show is phasing out, and no new orcas will be captured or breaded. It will eventually go away in the near future.
I have had a few lengthy conversations with Mark Simmons who was in Blackfish and he was taken out of context. If Sea World had made a rebuttal you would know the real truth. There has been examples in the wild where when Orca interact with humans they love the humans and ignore their own kind. What Blackfish didn’t cover was they didn’t want Tilly they actually approached the FWC and they declined since he has been in captivity too long. Also what happened to him was mostly in the other park that Sea World was not part of. Now I will admit the practices that all parks not just Sea World used was horrible. But there are zero options to release them and as bad as the ocean is getting we may only get to see wild life only in parks. If you want to see. Horrible way to treat an orca check Mark Simmons Killing Keiko.
I love Seaworld. I am coming in a few months from Sydney Australia and sorry, I only visit Seaworld to see the Orcas, I love the Orcas and love Seaworld and wish they kept their breeding going! Some people just wish zoo had cages with no animals inside them. These Orcas are loved and very well cared for by the trainers and the Vets
We were here in 2017 and didn't care for the size or condition of the enclosures. Fish were swimming around bleeding and we noted that the plastic orcas had a bigger body of water around them than the actual orcas. I don’t know if things have improved since then, but we won't be rushing back.
Documentary filmmakers sometimes approach their subjects with a specific message or advocacy in mind. This can lead to criticisms, where a film is seen as lacking neutrality or comprehensive fact-checking. “Blackfish” has indeed been a subject of controversy, with some praising it for bringing attention to the issue of orca captivity and others criticizing it for presenting a one-sided view.
We let our Disney passes expire this year and purchase Sea World Platinum, just to have a place to take the kids on weekends. We’re locals. Let me tell you, I was impressed by the perks included. 100% worth it! So much value. My only feedback is they need ride attendants at lines where the quick queues merge. We had an altercation TWICE because people think we’re cutting the line just because there is NO ONE to monitor the quick queue lines. Other than that, it’s been great, the rides are good and different, the festival is way better than the Epcot’s festival. I love that we can take family with us and not spend a ton. Food and merch prices are decent. Overall pretty good.
While I also think that those people that you encountered were in the wrong, yes I also do agree. No ride attendants in the quick queue section meaning how are they enforcing the quick queue system?
We went and we loved the animal exhibits. I would hate to see them go because my children absolutley loved them (me too). They especially love waching the animals do tricks. I think it's amazing to watch these animals do these things they do. Yes, their "cages" could be bigger, but what about all those dog owners? They don't lock their dogs up when they go to work or give them better treats when they do tricks? I'm also a dog owner but my dogs get a doggie door and can go where they want when I'm a work but I can't say the same for others. I wish their exhibits were much bigger. I would pay more in my ticket if it would help to get bigger tanks and land to provide for the Orcas and etc. I saw the terrible movies and thought horrible things. But it really seems they love the animals and want to make it better for them. We will def be back, we love everything about this park!
SeaWorld without Sea animals? Yeah then it just be an amusement park. Why would I go there? Would be like Busch Gardens without the animals or Animal Kingdom without the animal. Non-starter for me.
As someone who's getting to old for thrill rides I enjoy the animal encounters. Unfortunately I lived in the Midwest and can't go to the Florida parks very often.
I just got passes last month for my daughter’s birthday. The perks are amazing and hard to pass up! I will admit I haven’t gone to see the Orca encounter since I saw Blackfish and I’ve heard they are not breeding them anymore. Sea World does rescue a lot of animals, and they provide educational and knowledge on the animals they have there. The animals at the park cannot be released back into the wild and they are well taken care of at Sea World. I’m glad they are focusing more on rides and entertainment. There’s always room for improvement and I feel like they are making the right strides to get there.
I don't think that SeaWorld should move away from having animals in their parks, because they do a TON of good by helping with conservation and rehabilitation efforts. It's not JUST a theme park, thankfully.
Taking the Animals out of Sea World would be like taking Mickey Mouse out of Disney. It did all start with just Animals and shows. All the rides came later
@batshtcrazy5293 horrific you think you know everything. You aware they work with Clearwater Marine Aquarium? Do some research before spouting things you clearly are ignorant about. And since SeaWorld offers a lot of free backlot tours....take advantage of that when they offer it. You'd be surprised at what you can see. Ignorance isn't bliss
I know in general there has been a shift in opinion but keeping animals where people can be exposed to something they cannot see otherwise can be rocket fuel to conservation. Keep the animals, focus on education and conservation....and build massive dark rides as well.
I disagree with getting rid of all animals...you wouldn't ask Disney or BG or your local zoo to do that. SeaWorld is a great park and offers families lots of fun
Dev, I love your videos! But I disagree about the animals. Sea World wouldn't be Sea World without the animals. It would be the same with zoos. Take out the animals and it wouldn't be a zoo. Having the animals sets them apart from Disney and Universal.
Another great video Dev. I love that you touched on sea world passes. Tampa local here and our BG pass is such a great value. Cannot beat the perks. I agree with the orcas, but we honestly love the other animals in the park we spent our whole day just looking at them. Didn’t even need to get on a coaster.
I would recommend the Sesame Street area to anyone who grew up watching the show and still remembers it fondly, even in a party without small children. The quick service restaurants generally do not have enough plant-based protein options, unless something changed recently.
We all loved seaworld it was our 2nd best park to universal, big rides animals best food festival no crowds, on a ride in 10 minutes with no ride pass.whats not to like.having space after the crowds of the others is a breath of fresh air, then busch gardens was 3rd on our list.
You mentioning the movie made me roll my eyes hard! That movie was full of lies. As a regular to Discovery Cove I have learned those animals are not forced to do anything. We had a dolphin decide to leave us in the deep water (pre Covid) and the trainer said what I need to hear to bring me back to Sea World. She said We can't force a 600+ lbs animal to do anything. If you speak to the trainers you can learn so much. Covid did ruin the new Orca tanks that were going to be all natural environments for those beautiful animals. I am super disappointed about this, but Covid ruined a lot lololol. Go talk to the people at the Orca viewing spot and just talk to them. They absolutely love those animals.
Without the animals there wouldn’t even be able to keep people from coming it is also a hospital for fish mammals and all too, a lot of those animals were born there they wouldn’t survive on their own 😅
We experienced the Underwater Grill and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and especially the food-the food is definitely better than Coral Reef at Epcot
I respectfully disagree with you dev regarding the removal of the orca exhibit. I think it's nice to have animals and coasters in a theme park. This is another reason why I like Animal Kingdom. The safari ride attraction is my favorite at Disney. I love the layout and how they make the guest feel as if you are in a place such as Africa with the animal walking around freely.
I love that the animals are what makes Seaworld a bit different from the other major parks. Shifting the focus to rehabilitating and rescuing animals will help change peoples opinions. There doesn't always have to be a big show for the orcas, but if they are rescued and being held in a humane way a large exhibit would be a good idea. Have the best memories of the animal shows with dolphins and sea lions there also.
A lot of animals would have died if it wasn’t for them . And if they took away the animals, it wouldn’t be sea world. I personally have many good memories of seeing the shamu show. But I’ll respect it’s not your thing.
All I can say about the animals is that just like being carbon neutral they are off setting the animals in captivity by saving ALLOT of sea life and I do mean ALLOT. Also think about it this way if there are no animals in the park to learn from and study humans would be going into these habitats with cruise ships and other forms of travel and that's really disruptive (these are my thoughts only tho) if we and future generations connect with these creatures we WILL want to protect them😊
I am with you, I would be happy with a orca IMAX experience. I worry that if they get removed from there though the animals will just be shipped to another country with even less regulations.
I have been a passholder for over 12 years and grew up going there often. I hope they continue having the animal exhibits. It's one of my favorite parts! They have already stopped the Orca breeding program which I agree was a good move. I like that they have made the show about education and need for conservation.
In the land of mega priced parks in the area (looking at you Disney) SW is a great value! I'm in SE Ga and have a fun card pass- for the price of one day admission, I have (reasonable black out dates) basically unlimited admission for a year. The festivals are great and I grew up near SW Ohio and its nostalgic to me, too!
Dev have you ever done the behind the scenes rescue tour ? It showcases the good Sea World does and how they do a lot of work in rehabilitation of animals. Our local zoo has been home to several at risk manatees who came to us after their initial rehab at SW and many have been re-released. As a non coaster rider I enjoy watching the animals in their habitats, I am not saying they have not done wrong in the past but currently I feel like they are similar to AK or a zoo Love your channel best wishes always
Hey Dev. Watch you and usually agree with you,but not this time. SeaWorld name in itself dictatessea animals which people want to see. Many times I've taken my wife to SeaWorld and purchased up close encounters which she cherished to this day. Lose all the animals is crazy.
If you take away the animals, then you might as well call it something else ...we were just there and some tanks are better taken care of than others, which i think they should improve upon. My kids love seeing the animals and learning about them and the rehabilitation that they do, and I don't want them to go away and to just get better.
I think they should still have a rehabilitation center for animals that they will re-release to the wild. But they should focus on more rides and use a portion of profits to wildlife conservation and that medical rehabilitation center.
I’ve been a pass member since October for the second time. I’m there almost every weekend 😂 I was at bush gardens weekend before last. A pass is so worth it. I love seeing the animals. The sea lions are my favorite. Everytime I go it’s packed so I think they’re doing good.
Enjoyed the.Seaworld video. I enjoy their other park, Busch Gardens, in Virginia, but would love to check out those coasters. I think I need to spend a week in Orlando to check out the.parks.
SeaWorld needs indoor ride attractions. We went last year and it rained on and off all day. Mostly on. There were zero indoor rides to go on while waiting for the rain to subside enough for the outdoor rides to open again. The penguin walk through attraction could be a dark ride if they tried.
@@nancy9478 I just looked that up. Apparently they closed the dark ride part after the thing that must not be discussed and it will re-open as .... 🥁 Roll... A Penguin Rollercoaster.
Orcas are terrifying in real life. They need to have a ride based on their hunting! It would be amazing and just as thrilling as The Mummy at Universal! I loved seeing the Orca Encounter as a child, but as you get older, it is really sad to see such a large animal trapped for such a lonely life in a little pool.
I love Pipeline, it is so fun. However, having Six Flags of Georgia my home park and it has Georgia Scorcher and it is a stand up. But you do not Move at all, you move your seat to get in place and then you are locked in. So moving up and down on Pipeline is so WILD!
Thank you for your thoughtful and balanced view of the animal treatment at SeaWorld. I went to SeaWorld San Antonio a couple times as a kid, but I choose to not take my family. If SeaWorld chose to remove the orcas and dolphins, we’d likely visit the park. That’s what really keeps us away.
Hello! We do choose to avoid parks unless we know how the animals were acquired, but it’s certainly not a black and white topic. A lot of parks and zoos do fantastic conservation work and have thoughtful practices, and that is great! I am curious to know your thoughts on Epcot. I am not aware of animals there, but would like to know more 😊.

I totally agree, I don’t like roller coaster, so I wished the parks would do more for ppl like me!!!
They have always been saying, nothing changes
@@princess_niya2407so you want the orcas to die faster? If they released them now they would not survive so keeping them to live out their lives is the most humane option
That’s because it’s illegal to breed orcas lol. Not exactly a flex
Seaworld is a for-profit, not a non profit. Only 5% of your purchases go to “rescue” (literal cents) (do you REALLY trust a billion dollar corporation with a HISTORY of capturing animals from the wild to have another avenue of taking animals from the wild?????)
Seaworld is actively encouraging the orca captures in russia and china right now and there are more and more orca show facilities popping up in those countries at the moment.
@@JavierAliagaOfficial It’s funny how seaworld is completely saying “the wild is dying” to support captivity, while they’re actively killing the wild in the process
Go look at all the merchandise at seaworld and almost all of it is made of polyester and plastics, even the 60th anniversary plushes have glitter on them.
At the seaworld in san diego, and the non-profit zoo next to us takes the time to have all of their materials environmentally-friendly while seaworld uses plastic 24/7
Just around a week ago there was an outbreak of aquarium algae in the local bay suspiciously close to seaworld
Did anyone else notice how he just causally laughs on the Kraken coaster as it goes upside down & drops ? meanwhile I would’ve passed out or had a heart attack 😂. Dev’s a savage
Don't worry I was scared at first once I got In but once u keep on getting in the ride you will get use to it 😊
All it took was riding a coaster called "the mamba" at worlds of fun in Kansas city Missouri and doing aerobatic flying to get me over my dear of coasters. 😂😁
It won’t make you pass out if you learn to breathe and sit back other than it giving you an ear popper. I would not advise over doing this one though. The inversions will cause you to star up in your head and eventually pass out.
I went to SEAworld for the animals. The rides were the perk. I enjoyed the Orcas immensely.
Got to the SEA for that, that is where they belong, not in a tiny tank doing tricks for people entertainment
How about an Orca Encounter dark ride? Where they simulate a deep sea dive with Orcas?
Good idea!
That would be awesome.
That would be sick. How aren’t you hired as an imagineer already?
SeaWorld is part of our childhood, too. Thank you for this wonderful tour❤
To be honest I'm liking SeaWorld more these days to
So all zoos or Disney’s animal kingdom they should get rid of all their animals ?
Sea World and Universal are my go to parks in Orlando. Imagine going to Disney World lmao. You'll have a better time at either one than Disney.
I completely disagree. I'm all for the orcas and I hope they never get rid of them. SeaWorld is my favorite. That movie had no affect on my life or thought process whatsoever. And the name of the park is SEAWORLD, not RIDEWORLD.
🙄
I like the orcas too but be realistic. The show is phasing out, and no new orcas will be captured or breaded. It will eventually go away in the near future.
seaworl rescue is one of the best in the world!
I think SeaWorld is great. Love the coasters and food there. And their focus is very much on the animals health and safety now imo. Love it there.
Best pass hands down but I wish it had a show in that theater😢
We were here in 2017 and didn't care for the size or condition of the enclosures. Fish were swimming around bleeding and we noted that the plastic orcas had a bigger body of water around them than the actual orcas.
I don’t know if things have improved since then, but we won't be rushing back.
you also have the remember, seaworld is both a themepark, a aquarium, and a marine rescue. I personally go for the animals (coasters scare me)
Documentary filmmakers sometimes approach their subjects with a specific message or advocacy in mind.
*Keep up the amazingly fabulous work!*
Dev, I’m loving your new style, your new vibe and new videos!
Great content as always, keep up the good work my friend 💪🏼
Taking the Animals out of Sea World would be like taking Mickey Mouse out of Disney. It did all start with just Animals and shows. All the rides came later
Horrific, that you think that's ok.
@@batshtcrazy5293 lemme guess you watch CNN and listen to NPR
I agree, they were a marine life way before they start adding rides and they are somewhat still a marine life and I'm ok with that.
@@jodihughes3009 REALLY????
I know in general there has been a shift in opinion but keeping animals where people can be exposed to something they cannot see otherwise can be rocket fuel to conservation. Keep the animals, focus on education and conservation....and build massive dark rides as well.
Exactly, I don't totally understand this all or nothing thinking.
I disagree with getting rid of all animals...you wouldn't ask Disney or BG or your local zoo to do that. SeaWorld is a great park and offers families lots of fun
Love your content as always. Top notch! 😎
Seaworld without marine life is not seaworld. Its six flags with an ocean theme.
I would recommend the Sesame Street area to anyone who grew up watching the show and still remembers it fondly, even in a party without small children.
The quick service restaurants generally do not have enough plant-based protein options, unless something changed recently.
Zoos and aquariums fund rescue and research, always has. The positive by far outweigh the bad.
We all loved seaworld it was our 2nd best park to universal, big rides animals best food festival no crowds, on a ride in 10 minutes with no ride pass.whats not to like.having space after the crowds of the others is a breath of fresh air, then busch gardens was 3rd on our list.
Ur not going make cry Dev… awesome video dude ✌🏻
Without the animals there wouldn’t even be able to keep people from coming it is also a hospital for fish mammals and all too, a lot of those animals were born there they wouldn’t survive on their own 😅
Noooo if they was to remove the orca’s a classic seaworld would be dead. We have enough parks with just rides. Keep it as it should
Sharks underwater grill is extremely good i highly recommend it the food and servers are extremely good as well
Thank you
We experienced the Underwater Grill and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and especially the food-the food is definitely better than Coral Reef at Epcot
I never skip the seaworld parks when I come to Orlando. They are always my favourite days of my holiday. X
I am glad sea world spending more to upgrade food & more training for staff.
Seaworld Orlando New Trackless Dark Ride in 2027 Opening Day 🇺🇸
I respectfully disagree with you dev regarding the removal of the orca exhibit.
Dev you got me wanting to come check out the sea world parks. I don’t ride rollercoasters but my kids will.
Its good to see Sea World is attempting to compete again with the other parks in the city.
SEAWORLD FOREVER
As a non coaster rider I enjoy watching the animals in their habitats, I am not saying they have not done wrong in the past but currently I feel like they are similar to AK or a zoo
Love your channel
best wishes always
Going ion aug 3rd with the fam! Can’t wait! I hope a Saturday isn’t too busy but it’s probably going to be but whatever
I went to Seaworld w/ my mom this past weekend and we had the best time.
I love the sea life and animals at the park! I would be sad to see them go.
I think they should still have a rehabilitation center for animals that they will re-release to the wild. But they should focus on more rides and use a portion of profits to wildlife conservation and that medical rehabilitation center.
10% of ALL SALES goes to animal care conservation. Says it on all receipts at SeaWorld and BG....not a new thing......
@jodihughes3009 I know, but what I mean to say is more than 10%.
I love Pipeline, so I'm glad that you finally rode it!
Thanks as always, Devin!
I appreciate you saying something about the animals
I will always love SeaWorld
We love the sea life at sea world. Black fish movie was not an accurate representation of sea world.
Sledgehammered that like button sharing out full watch ty for sharing another honest video
Seaworld is my absolute favorite. They take care of their passholders and Florida residents.
Hello, im new to your channel and have been bingeing your vids! all awesome stuff. quick question, have you ever been to Gatorland in Orlando??
No I haven’t been yet but it’s on the list
Welcome to the family
SeaWorld needs indoor ride attractions. We went last year and it rained on and off all day. Mostly on. There were zero indoor rides to go on while waiting for the rain to subside enough for the outdoor rides to open again. The penguin walk through attraction could be a dark ride if they tried.
It is a dark ride but was not working when we went last year.
Does your day trip include Aquatica water park?
Sea World is ok but there’s not the customer service there which is a shame.
That’s what really keeps us away.
do you avoid Epcot, Animal kingdom and other AZA zoos?
