That may be intentional as they have a women’s line called G-MS. Though, it’s priced more like the G-Steel series and not the MR-G

      I think it’s
      G-Shock
Masters of G and G-Steel (about equal in price but MoG is more of a performance/high durability watch while G-Steel is more of a luxury watch)
      MTG
      MR-G

  • @YourSoulDriver

Good video. Is interesting to note that the GW-5000U is a square G-Shock, made in Japan, full metal case with DLC screwback. Is the most expensive square (except for the MR-G square) yet is 10-20 times cheaper than a regular MR-G.

The casio factory in Thailand produces high quality solid watches as good as they produce in Japan, off course the materials on MRG are of a higher grade and standard, no doubt about that.
I wouldn't touch any Metal G made in China or elsewhere,
"Made in Thailand" G Shock watches are of a very high standard and quality.
Off course "made in Japan" is first choice! But they're very pricey! But any Casio watch made in Thailand is solidly built and assembled.

I really enjoyed watching this video. I've been shopping the g-steel line so this was timely and informative. I would like to see more buying guides from you. The Casio catalog is massive, so it can be confusing to the average person. I also collect Timex and their catalog is seemingly infinite.

I’m binge-watching your videos today. What about the MTG-900? From what I gather, it’s been around since 2003 and was the first MTG and one of the first G Shocks to have solar/atomic features. It’s still in production after all these years even though it definitely looks like a watch from the early 2000’s. They sell enough of them where they gave them and update several years ago.

Very nice explanation, great video, any idea why Casio are ditching all digital metal G shocks??
I'm still using my all digital 10 year old Casio MTG 930du, I don't like analogue watches, and I dont like the new B1000d 35th anniversary watch.
I understand it's fine to use analogue in the MRG/MTG line ups, but Casio should definitely make an all digital round GST type watch.
Any idea if Casio has any plans to release an All digital round GST anytime soon?

Great video, but noticed you say the GST-B100X comes with sapphire crystal glass, but it should be mineral crystal like all other cheaper GST models. Only the higher end models of the MR-G and MT-G lineup can have the sapphire glass.. I do still wonder if the carbon bezel would be more scratch resistant than the steel bezels, then again the titanium ones would be supreme for that..

You're telling me the GSTs are a 'bargain' compared to the MT-G and MR-G. They're really disappointing in features, especially the one with the rotor on the dial, plus the others with LCD dials look cheap. You can't beat the looks of an analog watch
