    Hi
I liked the video, however, and unless I missed something here, I believe the diagnostic you made was incorrect...
That Pin 3 is the ignition voltage, (min 9:11 in the video), sometimes called "wake-up" line... it is the 12v from ignition that wakes up the module... as the main power for the power steering module is on that other 2 pin connector you tested initially and was ok.
When you injected the 12v on that pin 3 with JJ assistance, you have just injected voltage back to where it should actually come from... (Min. 11:31 in the video)
However, when you injected the voltage on that 3rd pin, you had both plugs hanging in there, not connected to the module, so you would could never have communications with it... the same 3 pins plug where you were injecting that voltage, also has the CAN lines on pins 1 and 2 as you tested, that should plug into the module for you to be able to communicate with it.
From what I have seen, you had the ignition voltage missing on that pin 3, if you would have injected the voltage but with everything connected, then you would have gained communications with the module.
The issue to me, seemed to be somewhere between that 10amp SC2 fuse and the 3 pin plug.
And please, I am not trying to be smart or negative, just pointing what I have seen...

Please double check your explanation of fuses. There is SC fuse box and SA fuse box. There are 2 fuses in the diagram you are looking at hard to see the number for SC fuse box. 30a means constant power. 15 means key on power. 31 means ground. German diagrams. Other than that, excellent video and explanation on how to check it.

Did you end up swapping the rack out? And did that fix the issue? Having the same problem on my 15 gti

This is a great video. I have a 13 hybrid SEL Jetta and the steering makes a crinkling kind of noise in each direction and you can't really hear it when actually moving...as if the heavy drag on non-rotating wheels is enough to cause it. The steering is still easy as normal, just has that light noise in each direction. And of it helps, I hear it mostly in the glove box area. No lights on the dash.
Could my symptoms now be a warning of something soon to totally fail in that system?

Did you solve the problem? I had the same problem in my audi 2012 and I didn't get it
Do you have another video that relates to the problem?
