      Hi Jessie, how much power and boost can the ecoboost motor handle before it needs the block mod kit applied to keep the cylinders from warping?
      Looking to buy one which has been stroked and forged, however the owner didn't do the block mod as he wasn't aware of it at the time.
      Really appreciate your help

      And one year later goals are surpassed!!! Congrats EMS! But this is why I think it’s a Ute mistake to build with the 2.3 RS block. The casting is just to weak and badly casted. Was a cost effective way to raise share holder profits by using a open deck weak casting block.

    So at 29 psi it made 684 on di. So was that the limit for the di configuration could handle on e30? Like is it the stock pump and injectors or the new pumps that are all the crazy. Just seems odd that a nx2, 2000xid, a 615 pump, and a turbosmart wastegate. Get very close to that also on e30 to e85.

    Has it blown up yet? I’ve got 300 miles on my sleeved 2.3 and everyone saying it’s going to blow because it’s not 2.0 liter . Personally I think the 2.0 is just a money grab for builders to mass produce short blocks . Considering it takes a lot of time to machine and sleeve or even put CSS in a block . Btw my 2.3 blew at 30k because one of the cam bolts came loose and it jumped timing . 2 rods shot out , big ol windows on either side of the block. I’m having a feeling poor assembly is the reason for a lot of 2.3’s blowing. So wouldn’t doubt mountune could push a stock block that far if they actually tightened their bolts.

      In the mustang ecoboost world the big reason the 2.3 aren’t used as much is because many of them still carry the open deck design as opposed to a closed deck.

    • @4touchdowns1game29
      @4touchdowns1game29 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tendyedits1272 yeah kinda sucks ford did that. An aluminum open deck block is better for power, cooling etc but only up to a certain point. Give me a semi closed iron block, I don't care if it's heavier, less effeciant.

      @@tendyedits1272 check out my mustang on my channel. I'm basically trying to keep my car safe but be a daily driver. I don't drive around on my e30 tune all the time. Blowing the block up scares me. When I get the time and money I will just do the escape/focus/fusion/maverick swap. They all run the 2.0 that's semi closed and it bolts right on to the 2.3. most people don't know the rs motor in just a 2.0 motor that Ford stroked to get 2.3.

      just a guess... the block and heads are aluminum, but the cylinder bores likely have sleeves made of something harder like iron or steel. along with whatever other mods they make i imagine they make upgrades to try to keep the block cooled, ventilated and well oiled. so maybe things like a better water pump and oil pump, better breathing heads, etc.
