I kind of needed this video, not felt the need to get the camera out recently or to do anything really. I’ll be heading out on a walk this evening and tomorrow morning to explore the local area. Cheers James.
Proper enjoyed this, James. Love POV videos, almost feels like we're there with you. Some super shots from your iPhone. Would genuinely like to see more of these.
Dude you were in the perfect spot to take advantage of that sunrise. Castle in the background, lonely guy walking toward it, awesome sunset behind it all....
I love that kind of video, James. To learn how you see the scene and what take in your frame - and how the final picture looks like in comparison to the GoPro. The final versions are much brighter and with less contrast than I expected from video sequence before ... The Popsys-style ;-)
I think the very fact this video *doesn't* contain any sensational locations, super-expensive equipment or high production values makes it infinitely more immediate and relatable. The POV adds an intimacy to it and it's good to see a video that accurately reflects the times it's made in rather than some make believe fairy tale world (though those worlds *are* pretty.) I love super high quality captures of epic vistas but this was kinda comforting to watch, I think because it made me feel like we're all in the same boat.
Didn't think I would enjoy this video as much as some of your others but I took loads from it, really enjoyed and learnt a fair bit and inspired to give it a go myself.
No travel or loitering about here in Canada either, so this video felt like I got to take the perfect little trip courtesy of your insomnia! Grateful you shared! Missing exploration so much right now!
Charming location and great photos. Surprising that the yellow light by the tracks did not wash out - good enough dynamic range to hold up vs. the sky at that time. I saw several compositions there that I would have pursued, but moreover you did several I would not have thought of. Lots of non-landscape objects and near-abstract stuff. Good variety.
Loved this video, James! You have a great eye. I hope you will consider making more like this. Particularly whilst under COVID restrictions. Its inspiring.
Once again you've demonstrated that expensive camera gear and epic locations aren't necessary to make interesting photographs. Great way to practice composition. This video is inspiring and educational (as are all your videos, when I think about it). Be well!
One good thing about you , James , is that while most other photography related content creaters remind one of the adage ' much cry and little wool' , meaning much lecture and few actual photos, you've rained beautiful, bordered photos. Thank you so much and looking forward to seeing more of your works! One word of criticism though, the shot that prompts you to exclaim ' lovely photo ' has a weird, almost surreal sky tone-- green! But must be the phone's cranky colour science !
James, I can honestly say that you've encouraged me to get out with my phone and take some photos! I think it'll do me good to go right back to where I started my photography journey! Cheers mate!😁
What is familiar to one man is extraordinary to another. I completely enjoyed the mini-travelog. Now if we could figure out how to pipe in some of that sweet ocean smell the experience would be complete! Thanks James and take care!
As always, very helpful video James. Very much enjoy seeing your process and mindset as you identify and compose your shots. I hope all is well with you and Emily. I do wish for all of us that these lockdowns and restrictions will end soon enough. A positive though for people like ourselves is that it has forced our creativity to be stretched a bit. Cheers James!
Those baskets you thought were for mussels are actually lobster / crab pots - bait inside - lobster / crab crawls in via the narrow tube - can't get back out. Mussels are grown on suspended submerged lines, which they attach themselves to using filaments on the outside of the hinge of their shell.
I love love love your style of photography (and edits too!) Seeing one of my favourite photographers going out and just looking for things is really helpful for me trying to do the same!
Thank you James, I really enjoyed this video (I enjoy all your videos) as it’s of where I’m originally from (moved 4 years ago) and due to the pandemic I’ve not been back to visit family there. So you’ve brought Conwy to me... I loved the way you ‘easily’ composed wonderful shots, thank you and more of the same please. Diolch 🏴👍
Sorry you couldn’t sleep, but I really enjoyed this video. It helps to hear your thought process as you take photos. I struggle with composition and you make it seem so easy!
Weirdly really enjoyed this. Would like to see a vid of you taking same photograph with different cameras as a comparison to see each capabilities and what they can produce with a skilled person. Thanks for all the content keep it coming
Enjoyed this video, even with the lack of sheep. 😂 Seriously though since starting to watch your channel I have found myself really slowing down and looking at my composition more. Finding a shot even when there isn’t an obvious shot. So thanks for that and keep up the great work!
I just took a nice stroll with you. This morning I will go to Bergerac in South West France to test the capabilities of my iPhone 12 Pro Max too. You can certainly pull a lot of details from the shadows... Would you think by looking at them again, at least in the video, that they could have been less bright and a little more contrasty ?
Cracking photos. I was just thinking last night I'm going to go and wonder around my local town with my phone in Raw capture mode and see what I get. I'd say you're 'tackling' the lockdown pretty well so far in terms of getting photos!
Tuff job to do during a lockdown James. Especially when you get a sunrise like that, nice one 👍. Although with a real camera the constabulary would at least believe you were a photographer and not someone up to no good with a phone. Thanks for sharing again James. Stay safe over there.
I really enjoy the POV videos James. It's always good to see your process and thoughts (you know what I mean). Unfortunately, you've managed to make me miss Conwy even more than I already was 😢. I seriously cannot wait to be able to go back there and wander around the town with my camera for the first time. Hope you and Emily are doing well.
Great video James, we we're due to be in Conwy last year in our motorhome on a 2 week Wales tour, but... well covid put a stop to that. Not been before, but this has really made me want to make sure we rebook as soon as we possibly can. Cracking photos and, as always, cracking entertainment from Mr P!
Haha. Enjoyed this. I use a Joby mini phone tripod which has a little Bluetooth clicker. Useful when you're trying not to fumble on your phone to take a photo and nearly dropping it in the drink.
Always interesting to see othe places. Any chance you will do something from Anglesey and maybe South Stack lighthouse? Where at Anglesey fiwe years ago I think but where there only for one day so it would be fun to see something from there.
Went to Wales a few times as a kid, Llandudno mainly, so got dragged round Conwy a fair bit. I had forgotten about the smallest house. Must try and find the photos out, Kodak 126,(it was the 1970's) square pics,so ahead of its time in this instagram age.
Any advice on things to listen to that put you to sleep immediately?
Asmr?
A James popsys video 😉
Run a mile then drink hot cocoa
Abom79 on TH-cam. For some reason his videos knock me out in five minutes once you get part the talking bit

This kind of video where you explain your thought process and what you're seeing is really useful for learning 👍🏻
Awesome to hear 😃
I kind of needed this video, not felt the need to get the camera out recently or to do anything really. I’ll be heading out on a walk this evening and tomorrow morning to explore the local area. Cheers James.
Awesome to hear Richard 😃
As simple as this video is, I love it.
Awesome to hear Mike 😃
Sorry you feel that way about this video James. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say it was very enjoyable. More like it please.
Thanks Trevor!
@@JamesPopsysPhoto Agreed! Needed the inspiration for gloomy cold windy days here in Wyoming this February. Thanks James!
Proper enjoyed this, James. Love POV videos, almost feels like we're there with you. Some super shots from your iPhone. Would genuinely like to see more of these.

Saturday and a new James video, perfect.
Thanks for watching 😃👍🏻
Dude you were in the perfect spot to take advantage of that sunrise. Castle in the background, lonely guy walking toward it, awesome sunset behind it all....
you make it seem so effortless to find and compose a good photo. :)
Thank you! And all just practice 😃
I have always enjoyed how to go about taking photos. You always ask interesting questions about how to compose your shots.
Cheers Stuart! 😃
Thoroughly enjoyed hearing your thought process as you did your thing.
Thanks Mark 😃
Making the most of what you can. Its a useful reminder, thanks for the video. It was fun.
Thank you!
It's amazing the quality of the photos coming from such a small sensor paired with a good photographer behind the camera.
I was actually pretty amazed editing some of these, much better than I expected 👍🏻
I love that kind of video, James. To learn how you see the scene and what take in your frame - and how the final picture looks like in comparison to the GoPro. The final versions are much brighter and with less contrast than I expected from video sequence before ... The Popsys-style ;-)
That town is beautiful. Great stuff.
James: Wow that's a great sky
Also James: but let me take a picture of this rope

Really great photos James. Love them. And very nice peaceful POV video
Loved this style video! Love how you just talked and walked around. More in the moment kind of thing!!
Thank you 😃
Really enjoy learning from these pov videos, thanks for uploading!
Like your usual videos but as a Brit abroad, stuck away from the coast and the Welsh mountains, I really enjoy these POV videos.
Very enjoyable to see the sights.
Didn't think I would enjoy this video as much as some of your others but I took loads from it, really enjoyed and learnt a fair bit and inspired to give it a go myself.

Great to hear mate!
Lovely place Conway :-) Thanks for posting and for the focus on blue and yellow.
Such beautiful photos taken!

I must try the cricket when I can’t sleep too... Conwy is a great spot for photos. Great video as per usual, stay safe and have a good weekend.

I enjoyed this video and don't mind the POV. Thanks for another tour of your town!

It's amazing how this looks as a ghost town, except for some cars, you're alone.... and the concept of the video is great.
Just stunning as usual. Thank you for the views. While I can’t travel anywhere this is a good substitute:)
Thanks so much for watching 😃

Thanks for the trip down memory lane James(every summer in Conwy in the 80’s). Great video as always and Jimmy Anderson’s played a blinder.
Thanks William! And he’s like a fine wine isn’t he...!

A really useful video at this time when exercising from home is the norm. Camera or phone, so much to be learned from you. Thanks.
