    I love these videos. I'm coming back out of a long training drought and I may not be able to run anymore (knee injury I can't seem to beat) but this info should apply equally well on the bike, right? Keep the great info coming Fergus, and I'm looking forward to part 2!

      Great to hear man! Better test for bike is FTP test (apologies in advance!)

    I love how you articulate yourself, I just listen along to hear all these cool words and these fancy sentences. For a non-native speaker, I can learn a lot from you. Also, great video 👍😋

    Love the videos! I’m switching from a strict powerlifter to a hybrid athlete and your channel has so much good info and is very entertaining!

    Great video Fergus! What you've explained about Lactate Threshold heart rate zones was top notch! I would love to see part 2 of this video!!

      Hey man, thanks for watching! Finished 8m short of 19 laps (which I counted manually and checked against drone footage because I don’t rely on GPS at all on a track other than as a back up ref point, and as visual data for a video), which wasn’t a big enough discrepancy for me to bother mentioning.

    Actually did this test a couple of weeks ago. Would not advise attempting it around the meadows on a sunny saturday afternoon.... 🤦🏻‍♂️

    Great Video!
    How would you incorporate Road cycling into the Plan? I Love cycling and Like running too. Planning to maxbe do a duathlon. But I don't rly Knie how to get two endurance modalities plus Powerlifting Training into one Plan. You can't just so three Sessions running + 3 Sessions cycling + 3 Sessions Lifting. That got me to the point of ditchig running and just do cycling. Now I do 3 sessions Lifting and 3-4 sessions of cycling each week. But tbh: I miss running. But in the past never made real progress in running and cycling trying to do both.

      When focus is triathlon, my Achilles/calves just can’t tolerate the volume on the bike and my feet without having a little drop height - sadly, I hate the way these feel but they’re the lesser of several evils 😂

    Do you ever add sprints into one of your training blocks? Sprints and plyometerics?

    • @ferguscrawley95
      @ferguscrawley95  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      All the time with a sprints, loads of video content on the channel - but rarely if ever implement plios really.

    • @ferguscrawley95
      @ferguscrawley95  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man, not possible to estimate over the distance as fatigue/HR will effect individuals differently - but you shouldn’t ever really go beyond z3 for the sake of sustaining effort over such a distance.

    What's your thoughts on maf training?

    • @ferguscrawley95
      @ferguscrawley95  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Massively prefer LTHR - MAF is still fairly arbitrary (like 220-age), whereas this approach is a specific and relevant to the individual 🤘🏼

    Hello mate, I have tried this a few times with my FENIX 6 but everytime it says the test has failed! Which is a real kick to the teeth after the 30 mins you have just put in. Any ideas where I might be going wrong??
    Thanks

    • @ferguscrawley95
      @ferguscrawley95  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unsure on the specifics mate - but just do the test manually and you can't go wrong. Hit start, and send it for 30 mins!
