George loved his gardens, I spent over an hour chatting with him about them, I avoided asking him any questions about the Beatles, which I believe was why our chat lasted for so long. A great guy with a brilliant sense of humour
@@tiswas What a great story. Happy for you and jealous at the same time! I came within shouting distance of George once...went to see him in Philadelphia during his '74 North American Tour...we went behind the stage while the Indian musicians were playing. He was sitting off stage...my friend and I yelled to him as loud as we could, but we never got his attention...which is probably a good thing...I most likely would have have a heart attack if he had acknowledged us! Security came rather quickly as ushered us out of there anyway...it was well worth the attempt, though...
What a beautiful, magical place. It’s on my bucket list to see it, though I know that will never happen. These are such beautiful photos, thanks for sharing them with us. A virtual reality tour would be awesome!
Hi Scott, I have never seen the photo of George inside the water cave. I would love to see more photos of all of the caves. Absolutely LOVE the virtual reality idea!!
I don’t believe that George Harrison ever took a bad picture during his entire life. So to rank one over another is impossible. He was truly a gift to us all. Great work and thanks for putting this out.
This video is So Awesome, Friar Park is beyond words, the photos of George, are so special, and the photo looking out over friar park, is so perfect, the double rainbow so awesome fantastic, George was truly happy there, the rare cave photo is George exploring the caves, a valuable photo of George thank you for this video, I would like to see more, Steve
Wonderful video, as always! Iike to think George's spirit strolls around the gardens every night at Friar Park-he loved his gardens at night because he couldn't see the flaws as well.
Great pic of George on the balcony! I don't think I've ever seen it before. I think that the last pic that you showed of George sitting at the pond, smiling, is the best one. Jmo
Thanks for teaching me new things about George. He's the Beatle that I know the *least* about....although, admittedly, I am not an expert on *any* of the Beatles. I think their giant, sprawling estates are fascinating.....and how lucky those gardeners & caretakers must have felt being able to do something they love in such an epic place!
I think the photo when George Harrison had the perm haircut was around 1979 when he put out the self titled album George Harrison, that had the big hit Blow Away
I lived just by the bridge over the river Thames about 1/4 mile from his gate. We would see George around town on occasion. I never saw any fuss made of him or any other famous person, and there were plenty, back in the 70s. Famous is a totally different thing now and not in a good way.

Awesome! Have you been to Friar Park, then?
No, unfortunately not, I met up with him in a newsagent’s in Henley. We are both from Liverpool and he recognised my accent and we started chatting

Very nice! I'm a big fan of the Fab Four, so I love to see these old photos.

Yes. More, please.

Glad you liked it!
I always seem to like the serious pictures of George. Looking forward to part 2.

My late mums best friend is a salesian nun who lived there. Was back many times for tea with the other sisters.
Wow. That’s cool!
You did a killer job your the best tour guide thanks 👍👍👍😎
Thank you. Those are kind words. I appreciate them.
George was a keen gardener and landscaper
Fantastic
Incredible that rock stars in their 20's could buy these historic estates fit for a king. Sometimes a few of them.

You are correct, sir!
Visited there in 1969 when I was 6. My Aunt was a Salesian Nun who was there at the time. I think George was in the process of purchasing at the time.
🏆
I read or heard one time that 1 of the full time gardeners was George's brother.
Have a Jesus filled day everyone Greg in Michigan
I love the gnomes. They are "so George".
Gnomes are awesome!
I wonder if George was inspired to buy a big house with gardens after visiting John at Tittenhurst for that photo session around his wonderful estate?
He was certainly inspired by all the gardens and the lake that John was building.
What even is a water cave? I’ve never heard of that it sounds neat
Check out the documentary I produced on Friar Park. I tell all about it. :)

He is dressed in his gardening clothing. Pretty obvious to me.
Are the gnomes still around?
Yes, of course. It is their home. :)
I like seeing the outside but I'd really like to see the inside. I'm not sure if that's allowed.
Stay tuned. I've got plenty of interior photos.
Gnomes
Love George, hate gnomes.
The worst Beatle
Huh?
Thats not even an insult, even if he was the worst Beatle its still better than 99.9% of modern musicians.
