Hello everybody! Thank you all so much for the great feedback on the video. I have seen many of the same questions from people interested in trying this glitch out for them self so I thought I would answer some of them here! Q) Does this work on Wii U? A) Yes, this works on both the Wii U and Switch Version. Q) Is it patched? Which version of the game does this work on? A) This works on all the versions of the game, including the most recent patch. Q) I tried it and the trick doesn't work? A) There are multiple ways to fail this trick, so its a bit tough to answer which part failed. If you get to the part where you click “View Memory”, then unpause the game, move your controller around to make sure that the platform itself is flipping based on your gyro scope controls, if it does not then you failed an earlier step. If it does in fact work, then pause and re load the save file like stated in the video and it should work. Hope this answered at least some of your questions ^^
@@zyxwvutsrqponmlkjihgfedcba0 In many games, there are known duplication glitches that only allow you to duplicate something a certain amount of times, and the amount varies. I wanted to make the difference to make it clear that there is not a limit to the amount of times you can perform this duplication glitch.
I can't do this somehow. I successfully got to rotating the thing and the memory not popping up, but then when i load the save file, 3 hearts, 1 stamina wheel, but the statue has all the essences. Could it be that i'm on mastermode? If anyone knows what to do i'd appreciate them replying to this. Note: I could start a file in normal mode and check, but I don't want to have to go through all the work again when I already have this file
@@mychannel-fi4mc To my knowledge, Master Mode should not make a difference. At that state you are in, just take out all the hearts from the statue itself and repeat the glitch and you should end up re loading the file with the hearts in your inventory but the statue still having hearts "in the bank". Then just repeat the glitch.
I tried doing it now every time i try to glide i just fall like i'm jumping. HELP! Edit: i closed the game then opened it again and it's back to normal
I actually (kind of) personally know the person who found this out and they said they found out the camera thing so they tested it in a TON of different ways and they said the memories thing was completely accidental
@@riverhardman645 Just did this glitch recently and ironically found out that since your giving more than your taking the statue actually ends up paying you. I full health and stamina from one heart and about 1-2k~ more rupees than what I started with.
I was thinking that as well, containers might be interesting, but I want to play around on the moving platform while controlling it; like see if you can throw yourself crazy heights and distances.
Wait I just thought of somthing.. could you mabey use that glitch to fling yourself at/through the ceiling or wall of the shrine.. mabey you could find where all the outsides of the insides of the shrines are that way.
@@nootdreamnoot1684 Each shrine is on it's own map. The only map with multiple (normally unconnected) interiors is the Trial of the Sword map & (of course) the Hyrule overworld, with its shops & such.
Important note: If you do not reset the glitch (by sending all your hearts into the statue, then saving) you will be reset to your original state at your save after the 5th cycle, erasing all your progress on the glitch.
So i just found this out but the camera part won't work unless you have a shield out, so if that part isn't working for you make sure you have a shield equipped.
I don't have an adblock, but only on mobile, if you simply go past a yellow ad bar on the video, it disappears. Your can do this for all ads on the video cept the ad at the very end of the video, like the one here
Hey, I just tested this glitch, and I want to point something out. I duplicated hearts to the max, then started duplicating stamina. Upon entering the shrine, the duplicated hearts were gone. Stamina was still there tho. So only duplicate one stat at a time, save it, then do the other one.
Just a little nugget of info, make sure you have a shield equipped when your trying to do the camera glitch, i was trying forever to get it work and it wouldn't, i equipped a shield and it worked first try.
If you do this before completing the "Statue's Bargain" quest, you can get the first 5 hearts for free. Autosave moves the save down too far after that, or you would be able to get all the hearts and stamina for free.
To be fair I'm only doing this on the master mode, I did full 100% on normal but don't want to redo all the same grind just to play the harder mode So this is amazing !!!
TEXT INSTRUCTIONS 1. Sell the number of hearts you want extra of. 2. Save the game 3. Do the glitch (In the shrine, while holding shield, press camera and crouch. Examine gyro thing. Delete then pause. Hold item. Unpause then pause. Stop holding item. View memory. (No memory will play if successful) Exit out of menus.) 4. Load save file 5. Get hearts again 6. Do the glitch again 7. Load the save file again 8. Get hearts again 9. Sell all hearts 10. Save 11. Close the game 12. Get all hearts out 13. Save You can do steps 6-8 as many times as you want.
Well not really as many times as you want eventually you can't buy as many as there are in statue due to max limits. However if you do this glitch after only obtaining 1 heart nothing else in essence then you can sell one every time you get the 4 spirit orbs and gain 100 rupees for all the rest in the game. It would take a little longer cuz it only doubles each time, but if you need the rupees might be worth it. If you do max out after getting only one either sell a heart container before divine beasts or don't complete it so you can't teleport back and get it to recover after selling one
By looking at the game's code through data mining. If you understand game programming, check the game's code via hacks. But you still have to know what code you're looking at and how the code works. It's not easy, but a programmer can figure it out. The other option is to know the logic of game programmers and try to find glitches by doing things you think might fool the game. For example, i know games have invisible walls (or game collision), but it's impossible for game collision to be 100% effective in more complex games, so i get creative and try to think of ways i might be able to go through a wall, a door, or terrain by using the game's own gameplay.
Oh easy i know how because i do it: There are game logs and codes in every update we read them and figure what they didn’t and did patch so we get a glitch figured out then we try 5 combined combinations then boom glitch found

Actually I can sorta see how finding it could work out. Rather than "They figured out this line of events results in X", it's more like... -Camera-movement glitch is discovered. Interactions are studied. -Interaction with the gyroscope machine is discovered. Effects are studied. -Interaction with previous saves is discovered. Side-effects are discovered (temp-hearts status). Simple solution to side-effects ensue.
It's well known to glitch hunters that weird things can happen when a player is in multiple "states" at one time. Several known glitches for other games involve something similar to what's done here (being in gameplay and cutscene states simultaneously), so a glitch hunter already has an idea to work with and can try to replicate it in botw.
A rather interesting side effect this glitch has(that I discovered after attempting it on my completed save file) is that the temperature system bugs out when the first part of the glitch is triggered(along with the glider not working)! Essentially what happens is that Link's temperature doesn't go up or down at all when during actual gameplay(the temperature displays at middle) and you will take no damage thanks to it! The temperature display when on the pause screen will show the intended temperature for Link, but it doesn't actually effect him! Maybe this itself could prove useful for speedrunning somehow?
Side effects include: Elemental Immunity (the temperature doesn’t bug out, link is just immune to every element) Useless Glider (glider now comes with 100% gravity!)
Oddly I like having a few hearts missing as it let's you have yellow hearts from food. As long as you have all your reds filled you can beam with the master. With a few yellow you can absorb a couple hits and still beam without healing.
I completely agree with this. Three gold hearts is cool. Maybe all the Binding of Isaac has made me appreciate saving room for temp hearts and the benefits they provide (like the beam)
You can get durian's so fast and so early. How everyone isn't running around with half a pack of max health food at this point in the games life is heart breaking. Same with endura shrooms for stam.
I hit a small twist: I was doing the glitch normally to fill my hearts, and on one of the runs I had maxed my hearts and still had a couple containers. I put them into stamina, and upon entering the shrine, my hearts had reset to 3, but my stamina was at the increased value. It added some time to the whole process, but in the end it all worked out.
Here's some hopefully helpful info for everyone who's having trouble with this glitch: - Easy Camera Glitch: Draw your bow and arrow, then do crouch + L - Container count isn't retained, losing hearts, etc.: Before everything, make sure you have the save at the statue and another in the shrine, but *don't give the statue all of your essences yet.* Do the apparatus glitch in the shrine, then load the save at the statue. Now's the right time to trade your essences, so do it, save, then reload the save at the shrine. Do the glitch again, load the statue save, and you'll have the stamina/hearts from the shrine save. Trade them, save, reload the save at the shrine, do the glitch again etc etc etc. Repeat this until the statue has approximately ~55 essences, then give yourself all of the containers. The hearts/stamina should be permanent now.
I traded my hearts, and then when I repeat and I try to get my hearts, it wouldn't give me them and it says it doesn't have any of mine in therehelp plz

I think he realizes it so he cuts the video at 3:37, where he had done it right cause he has all of his hearts back, just without mentioning that he missed taking all hearts back
I love that it says "Increasing your power may destroy you", seeing as you actually will die in some games if you get more than the max amount of health... or worse, the low health sound will go on forever.

hi, There is much more simple way, the thing is that you don't have to the action of 'holding' an item!! 1. press ZL in front of the stand. (activate should be shown, this means you have to stand toward the stand) 2. press L+L3(analog stick click) at the same time 3. then you will see in camera mode with the 'activate' words shown... if 'activate' is not shown, you failed to press [L+L3] at the same time. 4. press activate button, then it will take picture 5. press 'delete' and in sequence press '+' right away, very fast like above youtube. 6. in menu go directly to the 'memory' (you don't have to 'hold' action at all!) 7. choose the memory to view --> nothing will happen 8. press 'b' to back....where you can see the link in front of the stand 9. 'load' the save. 10. done. have fun~
The title is simply there to bring in viewers and maximise the video’s profitability. Simple. The titles name isn’t even too far from the truth because yes, it isn’t “infinite” but for all intent and purposes it is in technicality. So chill. It’s just a title.
"New BoTW glitch" would bring in plenty of viewers. That's why I clicked. It's not a clickbait title or video, really. It's just an incorrect title for an informational video. If an infinite hearts and stamina glitch IS found at some point and he wants to make a video, what's the title of that one going to be? It's not a huge deal, but since the video itself is for information purposes, the title should reflect the information that's being shared.
Just found a way to get out of bounds while doing this glitch. As soon as you’ve exited the memory DO NOT leave the shrine or reload a save. Fall down the pit and link shouldn’t die. Reload your save after he’s been in the infinite abyss for around 10 seconds and he should fall right on the spot. Wait for a few minutes and BAM you’re in the centre of Hyrule and you’re under the map

@@chalkish4855 If you still want to know how to do it, it is super easy. Go to the spot in the world where you want to go out of ballance and save the game. Now get into the shrine in the vid and get in front of the pedestal. While having a shield equipped, hold down ZL and press the left stick and L at the same time. You should now be able to walk freely with the camera open. Get as close as possibe to the pedestal and open your pause menu. Now hold an item and pause and unpause the game. In the pause menu, Link now shouldn't hold the item anymore. Go to any memory you have collected and "watch" it. Just like in the vid, nothing should happen. Unpause again and jump right into the pit. Wait a couple seconds and reload the save where you want to go out of ballance. Link should die and after the game reloads, you should be under the world! To undo the glitch, just reload the save again. Hope it helps. Had heaps of fun with this easy glitch!
what about the interaction with boss heart containers? if you have a full two rows and then get a heart container from a boss, will it allow another one? or will you get a similar message to what the statue gives
pretty sure theres a message that says you cant have any more hearts. but for stamina containers spanwed in the overworld by hacks, you can keep getting more stamina.
GUYS LINKUS MESSED UP I KNOW HOW TO DO IT IF ITS NOT WORKING FOR YOU You sell the statue your heart/stamina containers as usual, you save, then you BUY THEM BACK. Then go to the shrine and do the glitch as normal
This still works as of March of 2021 however he left out a vital step. after you manually save before you enter the shrine for the first time you have to buy back all the hearts you gave him.
Fantastic. This worked perfectly after seeing comments that said one needed to 1) Sell then save 2) Buy back, do NOT save 3) go to shrine and perform steps to activate glitch.
@Ollie Reznor I'll run through the steps you need to go through once you're at the shrine. Hope it helps. * Remember: Sell essences to the statue, save your game, then buy back the essences. Don't save after buying back. Be sure you have the camera rune selected. In the shrine: 1) Approach the apparatus until you see "examine." 2) Press and hold ZL (shield) 3) While holding ZL, simultaneously press L and down-click the left stick. (If done correctly, you'll be looking through the camera but still have "examine" on the screen. If not, cancel and repeat steps 2&3.) 4) Press A and it will take a picture. 5.) Highlight delete. Press the A button and **immediately** press the + button. This will bring up the item menu. 6) In the menu, select and hold any item (e.g., an apple). Double tap the + key in quick succession. (Not sure if required, but if Link is still holding the item, press X to stop holding.) 7) Go to the adventure log and select a memory and choose "view memory." The memory should not load. 8) After a few seconds to confirm memory didn't load, press B to return to game. (You should now have control of Link and be able to move the apparatus with motion controls.) 9) Load the save file you created after selling to the statue. (Be sure it's your save and not an auto save.) Once it loads, you should have all the essences you bought back even though you returned to a save point before you bought them. Talk to the statue. It will still have the essences you sold.
I found another requirement to enter the crouched camera state. you need to have a weapon/shield in your hands. I tried doing it without one and failed every time then tried while holding a bow and shield and it worked every time.
I somehow used this to duplicate a Korok Seed, but I can't seem to replicate it now. I saved at the Milk store in Hateno, did the camera glitch at the shrine there, picked up the rock down the cliff by Link's house, got my 11th Korok Seed, reloaded the gamesave, got the same Korok, but had 12 seeds. I can't seem to replicate the event again though. I must be missing something, but I've no idea what.
@SilicatYT That's a lot of questions, and I never got a push notification for your reply. I only saw this because I manually sifted through notifications in the TH-cam so I could add a link to my Livestream of this glitch which showcases various more uses for it. P.S. the seed did not stay after the next cycle of the glitch, and I have no idea if purchasing extra weapon/shield/how slots would've held through the glitch because I hadn't even met Hestu yet.
I just noticed this... for some reason, jumping after doing the first part of the glitch for me caused me to be extremely heavy, but onlyy when using a glider.
This is a great detailed video. It still works as of 5/16/2021. I documented what I received from the video (so all credit goes to Linkus7), and made the steps clearer and easy to follow. This procedure gave me almost 100% success rate. Enjoy. 1. Sell all(minus 3) hearts to statue 2. Save game 3. Run(not teleport) to Myahm Agana Shrine, stand in front of control but no A-Examile show. 4. Do the hack 5. Press and HOLD L2 (to raise shield) 6. Press L (Camera) and Crouch (L3 or STAR) together, have to press the camera a bit earlier than the crouch. 7. Move up to camera, then press A-Examine. This will take a picture 8. Delete picture, VERY FAST, press +/START 9. Hold an item in hand, Fast press +/START twice. Now Link should be no item in hand. 10. If Link still have item in hand, press X to remove item from Link’s hand. 11. Adventure Log, find a memory video(To Mount Lanayru), view the memory video. All buttons will not work now. This is OK. 12. Wait couple seconds, press B. Link is back in front of station and able to run around, AND, controller gyro can still spin the platform in front even Link is away from the station. This proves the hacking is working. 13. Load save file (not Autosave). The loading black and white screen top-right will show only THREE hearts. 14. Buy all hearts back from status. 15. Do NOT save, go back to Myahm Agana Shrine and … 16. Do the hack 2nd time 17. Press and HOLD L2 (to raise shield) 18. Load saved game (with only three hearts) 33. Statue should say he has 12 hears. 34. Buy back all 12 hearts from statue. 35. Save game. 36. Now we permanently have the duplicated hearts.
I have spent a couple hours trying this glitch. I know it is working but for some reason it is not working for me. I get through the whole thing as expected, when I play the memory video it does not play, just as it should. However when I hit the “B” button (Nintendo switch) to exit the menu, I am immediately forced into the maze game. Any ideas?
@@tacopilot did you have an item in your hand? Double hit start? The first time I had to remove the item out my hand. Then went to the memory hit view and waited 5 seconds hit B and was able to move the maze. The second time I did it the item disappeared out my hands on double hitting start. I still followed the same steps. Just take you time hold shield, press the L and L3 together. When I did it link looked like he was crouching when I took the picture and proceeded with the other steps
@@Sarafina27 Thanks for the tip, I have tried both ways. Have you ever got to the point where you try to play the memory video clip and it does not play (indicating that the glitch worked) but then when you exit it forces you into the tilt game?
@@tacopilot The memory will not play. You will not see it on the screen and it will not show. The indication that the glitched worked is you being able to move the puzzle piece without being at the machine. When you are doing the Side step to bring the shield up then pushing L1 and L3 together you should be at a squat position. Take the picture and follow the delete instructions. Don't give up you got this ^_^
This exploit still works as of 12/9/2019...Linkus7's directions work...it's hard to convey exactly what to do, but he provides as good a job as possible...play around until you figure out the nuances of pulling this off. I had to do the whole thing over like 3 or 4 times (it is quite time consuming, so plan for that)...I'd suggest doing this whole set of instructions once for the hearts and then for stamina.
@@WhyEden_ i'm using a wii u...but hopefully what i'm about to say might help: make sure you save at the statue after giving up all the heart vessels that you can and not once you get to the shrine. When doing the manuever make sure you have the camera selected and not some other power like magnesis. Then while holding down ZL, simultaneously press L (shoulder button) and press down on L (the left analog stick). Now you will be able to walk while looking through the camera in a crouched down position. As you approach, the upright console, you should be prompted to press A to examine. Once the picture has been taken, make sure that as soon as you delete it to immediately press start(or+). If you delete the photo and don't press start/+ immediately, then the view will change to that board game above and the rest of the maneuve won't work. Similarly, once Link is holding something, quickly double tap start/+ and then remove the items from his hands by pressing X once...continue with the rest of the instructions and it should work...let me know and good luck...hope this helps.
Dude I lost 2 hearts to the horned statue like 3 years ago and never got them back I swapped the so I los 2 stamina vessels and finally I got the back today Thank a lot Linkus
As of my writing this on January 6th 2020, this glitch still works! I know the glitch seems complicated at first, but trust me when I say if you watch the instructions a couple of times, you’ll remember the steps and your muscle memory will do the rest. I believe in you! Thank you so much, Linkus!
If you can't get it to open the menu, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SHIELD EQUIPPED. I did the camera part perfect about 30 times and it kept failing on opening the menu, before I realized I didn't have a shield equipped. I equipped it and got it right on the first try.
@@StormBurnX I would definitely play it vanilla for the first playthrough, or at least wait until you have all 120 shrines. This is my favorite game of ALL TIME, and I wish I could play it for the first time again 😂😭 But yes, when you do this glitch, that will help a ton, should you need to do it to get those last 3 hearts/stamina vessels you can't actually get in-game.

I tried it several times too, but it wont work. I think, that i did nothing wrong. Everything worked fine, I was able to move the platform. But when I reloaded the save file I had still 3 hearts
Tobias Wilhelm I literally just finished doing it for the first time and I had some trouble at first, but I figured it out. What really tripped me up were the mechanics of what you’re supposed to do in the shrine. For example, when you press the rune and crouch buttons at the same time, you can test to see if you did it right by walking forward and then pressing “x”. If you did it wrong, Link will just jump in the air and the camera will deactivate. If you did it right, Link will crouch dash forward and the camera will flip to selfie mode. To switch back, just keep walking forward and press “x” again. Then, after you take the picture and activate the apparatus at the same time, delete the picture and THEN press plus to pause the game. Don’t try to do it at the same time because then it won’t pause, and the game will just put you in control of the apparatus without being able to move Link around. Let a little bit of delay. Not a big delay, but some delay. Once that’s dealt with, just do what he said with the holding an object, getting the game to get Link to stand up in front of the apparatus while the game is paused. Then watch the memory, and unpause. If you did that all right, then Link should be able to move freely while you can control the apparatus. Once you’ve made sure that you did it right, pause the game and load the save file you had at the statue after you’ve sold him some vessels and buy them back.
Thanks for this long answer, but I did everything right on this point. My mistake was not to buy my hearts back from the statue, he did not mentioned it in the first explanation, so I just didn't do it. Now it's working!!
Thank you, not only did I max out hearts and stamina but, I also gained 340 rubies, there's definitely a money glitch here that can be done very early game, but it takes forever and might be a little hard on your brain figuring out the saves and stuff
if you do something wrong then the glitch works but then when you try to use the paraglider you start going down super fast. This happened to me but to solve it just teleport to somewhere different and the effect will be cleared.
Im having an issue. I put 6 hearts into the statue (out of 9 total). Saved. Went to the shrine performed the glitch. Looked at the memory waited a few seconds and after that i loaded the previous file and it showed i didnt have any of the hearts i had before. And they were still in the statue.

Tried this in June 2019, and instead of having extra, the state stole my hearts and said he had none left to give me lol.. almost thought I'd lost the maximum hearts, but I reset to a previous save and everything was fine. Maybe I did it wrong? Could someone possibly confirm whether or not this works after the VR patch?
It works after the patch. Linkus skipped a few steps it seems: After you put all your hearts in and save, you have to pull them all out. When doing the camera glitch you have to have a shield equipped
how many hours did it took you to make it to one million rupees just with that mini game ? Must have been freaking long xD even by doing it perfectly every single times.
Just did it right now. Worked for me. Just gotta pause the video and learn what commentator is explaining, I got the shrine glitch pattern on lock after only a couple tries and the rest was easy
I wonder how many people find glitches by just saying: "Hey let me see what happens if I try doing exactly this at this exact point in time and go to this exact time with this exact item and calculate how long it will take Link to make a certain face and then do this and turn like that and pause the game so then I can hold this it and then open this and say this and press these two buttons at the same time and then do this and wear this so I can turn my switch upside down and throw it up 3 times and then turn it back unpause the game and then scream at the switch for 2 minutes and then try to take a picture and press this button and go here and then change into this outfit!"
I managed to glitch the trials like shown in the video. But loading the save file only displays the original amount of hearts I have AFTER I traded in the essences. In other words, it didn’t work
@Linkus7 It’s weird that once you reload your save and you’re able to buy back your hearts, your paraglider stops working. It will still come out but your fall speed acts as if you don’t have the paraglider out. Not sure if this is useful but I haven’t seen anyone mention it yet.
Still works 28 Dec 2021, took a good hour tbh to get use to doing all of the steps, I just saved the game each time before repeating the glitch once it worked, a boost helps as spent more time dead than alive starting off and full stamina is a big time saver with limited game time 😅👍
Hey buddy, I tried the link again after doing it successfully, but tried got to the part where the glitch happened but when I loaded the save game I can’t take out anything and the statue is without any essences. Help? Does it only work once?

If you're having problems with this trick, after you give all of your hearts or stamina and save it's important you take all of your hearts or stamina back then perform the glitch in the shrine. He skips explaining this step unfortunately
I somehow ended up with more money at the end of this than I started. Maybe there is a money glitch here? What if once you have completely got all your hearts and restarted app to make it permanent, you go back and do this glitch but buy like arrows from the shop to gain bomb arrows or sold something to gain money with it returning to your inventory?
I don't think that would necessarily work because something is done in the shrine that makes it to where you keep your hearts, and if you leave the shrine instead of returning to the previous save file, I heard it soft locks (or whatever you call it) your system and then you're forced to shut it off and everything, but I like your thinking mans 😂
There _is_ actually a money glitch, I've made 20k rupees only with the glitch bargaining, with about 200 essences in the statue👌 You probably would know this already, but the glitch preserves your rupees in the saved file as well as the heart + stamina amount in the glitched unsaved gameplay. So you could sell your essences to the statue just about infinitely, as long as you sell all your essences to the statue, then save the scene with all the rupees from the statue bargain! Thing is the game would always treat the essences as normal once they're in the statue, and the statue can hold infinite amount of essences(at least over 200) as far as I know :)

Q) Does this work on Wii U?
A) Yes, this works on both the Wii U and Switch Version.
Q) Is it patched? Which version of the game does this work on?
A) This works on all the versions of the game, including the most recent patch.
Q) I tried it and the trick doesn't work?
A) There are multiple ways to fail this trick, so its a bit tough to answer which part failed. If you get to the part where you click “View Memory”, then unpause the game, move your controller around to make sure that the platform itself is flipping based on your gyro scope controls, if it does not then you failed an earlier step. If it does in fact work, then pause and re load the save file like stated in the video and it should work.

I wanted to make the difference to make it clear that there is not a limit to the amount of times you can perform this duplication glitch.
I can't do this somehow. I successfully got to rotating the thing and the memory not popping up, but then when i load the save file, 3 hearts, 1 stamina wheel, but the statue has all the essences. Could it be that i'm on mastermode? If anyone knows what to do i'd appreciate them replying to this.
Note: I could start a file in normal mode and check, but I don't want to have to go through all the work again when I already have this file
@@mychannel-fi4mc To my knowledge, Master Mode should not make a difference. At that state you are in, just take out all the hearts from the statue itself and repeat the glitch and you should end up re loading the file with the hearts in your inventory but the statue still having hearts "in the bank". Then just repeat the glitch.

Important note: If you do not reset the glitch (by sending all your hearts into the statue, then saving) you will be reset to your original state at your save after the 5th cycle, erasing all your progress on the glitch.

Hey, I just tested this glitch, and I want to point something out. I duplicated hearts to the max, then started duplicating stamina. Upon entering the shrine, the duplicated hearts were gone. Stamina was still there tho. So only duplicate one stat at a time, save it, then do the other one.

If you do this before completing the "Statue's Bargain" quest, you can get the first 5 hearts for free. Autosave moves the save down too far after that, or you would be able to get all the hearts and stamina for free.

It actually does work, i have all hearts and stamina and 31 useless spirit orbs.
Well not really as many times as you want eventually you can't buy as many as there are in statue due to max limits. However if you do this glitch after only obtaining 1 heart nothing else in essence then you can sell one every time you get the 4 spirit orbs and gain 100 rupees for all the rest in the game. It would take a little longer cuz it only doubles each time, but if you need the rupees might be worth it. If you do max out after getting only one either sell a heart container before divine beasts or don't complete it so you can't teleport back and get it to recover after selling one

I think they intentionally program it while making the game and release it after.
By looking at the game's code through data mining. If you understand game programming, check the game's code via hacks. But you still have to know what code you're looking at and how the code works. It's not easy, but a programmer can figure it out. The other option is to know the logic of game programmers and try to find glitches by doing things you think might fool the game. For example, i know games have invisible walls (or game collision), but it's impossible for game collision to be 100% effective in more complex games, so i get creative and try to think of ways i might be able to go through a wall, a door, or terrain by using the game's own gameplay.

There are game logs and codes in every update we read them and figure what they didn’t and did patch so we get a glitch figured out then we try 5 combined combinations then boom glitch found

Well it’s taken this long to find it and you have hundreds of gamers trying to glitch test it each day.
Actually I can sorta see how finding it could work out. Rather than "They figured out this line of events results in X", it's more like...
-Camera-movement glitch is discovered. Interactions are studied.
-Interaction with the gyroscope machine is discovered. Effects are studied.
-Interaction with previous saves is discovered. Side-effects are discovered (temp-hearts status). Simple solution to side-effects ensue.

It's well known to glitch hunters that weird things can happen when a player is in multiple "states" at one time. Several known glitches for other games involve something similar to what's done here (being in gameplay and cutscene states simultaneously), so a glitch hunter already has an idea to work with and can try to replicate it in botw.

A rather interesting side effect this glitch has(that I discovered after attempting it on my completed save file) is that the temperature system bugs out when the first part of the glitch is triggered(along with the glider not working)!
Essentially what happens is that Link's temperature doesn't go up or down at all when during actual gameplay(the temperature displays at middle) and you will take no damage thanks to it! The temperature display when on the pause screen will show the intended temperature for Link, but it doesn't actually effect him!
Maybe this itself could prove useful for speedrunning somehow?

Oddly I like having a few hearts missing as it let's you have yellow hearts from food. As long as you have all your reds filled you can beam with the master. With a few yellow you can absorb a couple hits and still beam without healing.

I completely agree with this. Three gold hearts is cool. Maybe all the Binding of Isaac has made me appreciate saving room for temp hearts and the benefits they provide (like the beam)
You can get durian's so fast and so early. How everyone isn't running around with half a pack of max health food at this point in the games life is heart breaking. Same with endura shrooms for stam.

I hit a small twist: I was doing the glitch normally to fill my hearts, and on one of the runs I had maxed my hearts and still had a couple containers. I put them into stamina, and upon entering the shrine, my hearts had reset to 3, but my stamina was at the increased value. It added some time to the whole process, but in the end it all worked out.

Here's some hopefully helpful info for everyone who's having trouble with this glitch:
- Easy Camera Glitch: Draw your bow and arrow, then do crouch + L
- Container count isn't retained, losing hearts, etc.: Before everything, make sure you have the save at the statue and another in the shrine, but *don't give the statue all of your essences yet.* Do the apparatus glitch in the shrine, then load the save at the statue. Now's the right time to trade your essences, so do it, save, then reload the save at the shrine. Do the glitch again, load the statue save, and you'll have the stamina/hearts from the shrine save. Trade them, save, reload the save at the shrine, do the glitch again etc etc etc. Repeat this until the statue has approximately ~55 essences, then give yourself all of the containers. The hearts/stamina should be permanent now.

hi, There is much more simple way, the thing is that you don't have to the action of 'holding' an item!!
1. press ZL in front of the stand. (activate should be shown, this means you have to stand toward the stand)
2. press L+L3(analog stick click) at the same time
3. then you will see in camera mode with the 'activate' words shown... if 'activate' is not shown, you failed to press [L+L3] at the same time.
4. press activate button, then it will take picture
5. press 'delete' and in sequence press '+' right away, very fast like above youtube.
6. in menu go directly to the 'memory' (you don't have to 'hold' action at all!)
7. choose the memory to view --> nothing will happen
8. press 'b' to back....where you can see the link in front of the stand
9. 'load' the save.
10. done.

Just found a way to get out of bounds while doing this glitch.
As soon as you’ve exited the memory DO NOT leave the shrine or reload a save. Fall down the pit and link shouldn’t die. Reload your save after he’s been in the infinite abyss for around 10 seconds and he should fall right on the spot. Wait for a few minutes and BAM you’re in the centre of Hyrule and you’re under the map

@@chalkish4855 If you still want to know how to do it, it is super easy. Go to the spot in the world where you want to go out of ballance and save the game. Now get into the shrine in the vid and get in front of the pedestal. While having a shield equipped, hold down ZL and press the left stick and L at the same time. You should now be able to walk freely with the camera open. Get as close as possibe to the pedestal and open your pause menu. Now hold an item and pause and unpause the game. In the pause menu, Link now shouldn't hold the item anymore. Go to any memory you have collected and "watch" it. Just like in the vid, nothing should happen. Unpause again and jump right into the pit. Wait a couple seconds and reload the save where you want to go out of ballance. Link should die and after the game reloads, you should be under the world! To undo the glitch, just reload the save again.
Hope it helps. Had heaps of fun with this easy glitch!
what about the interaction with boss heart containers? if you have a full two rows and then get a heart container from a boss, will it allow another one? or will you get a similar message to what the statue gives

You sell the statue your heart/stamina containers as usual, you save, then you BUY THEM BACK. Then go to the shrine and do the glitch as normal

This still works as of March of 2021 however he left out a vital step. after you manually save before you enter the shrine for the first time you have to buy back all the hearts you gave him.

Doing the first part of the glitch makes the glider stop working, it's fixable by restarting the game

* Remember: Sell essences to the statue, save your game, then buy back the essences. Don't save after buying back. Be sure you have the camera rune selected.
In the shrine:
1) Approach the apparatus until you see "examine."
2) Press and hold ZL (shield)
3) While holding ZL, simultaneously press L and down-click the left stick. (If done correctly, you'll be looking through the camera but still have "examine" on the screen. If not, cancel and repeat steps 2&3.)
4) Press A and it will take a picture.
5.) Highlight delete. Press the A button and **immediately** press the + button. This will bring up the item menu.
6) In the menu, select and hold any item (e.g., an apple). Double tap the + key in quick succession. (Not sure if required, but if Link is still holding the item, press X to stop holding.)
7) Go to the adventure log and select a memory and choose "view memory." The memory should not load.
8) After a few seconds to confirm memory didn't load, press B to return to game. (You should now have control of Link and be able to move the apparatus with motion controls.)
9) Load the save file you created after selling to the statue. (Be sure it's your save and not an auto save.)
Once it loads, you should have all the essences you bought back even though you returned to a save point before you bought them. Talk to the statue. It will still have the essences you sold.

I found another requirement to enter the crouched camera state. you need to have a weapon/shield in your hands. I tried doing it without one and failed every time then tried while holding a bow and shield and it worked every time.

I saved at the Milk store in Hateno, did the camera glitch at the shrine there, picked up the rock down the cliff by Link's house, got my 11th Korok Seed, reloaded the gamesave, got the same Korok, but had 12 seeds.
I can't seem to replicate the event again though.
I must be missing something, but I've no idea what.

I just noticed this... for some reason, jumping after doing the first part of the glitch for me caused me to be extremely heavy, but onlyy when using a glider.
That is exactly what happened to me

Make sure you're crouching while in camera mode, and press the menu button _immediately_ after you delete

This is a great detailed video. It still works as of 5/16/2021. I documented what I received from the video (so all credit goes to Linkus7), and made the steps clearer and easy to follow. This procedure gave me almost 100% success rate. Enjoy.
1. Sell all(minus 3) hearts to statue
2. Save game
3. Run(not teleport) to Myahm Agana Shrine, stand in front of control but no A-Examile show.
4. Do the hack
5. Press and HOLD L2 (to raise shield)
6. Press L (Camera) and Crouch (L3 or STAR) together, have to press the camera a bit earlier than the crouch.
7. Move up to camera, then press A-Examine. This will take a picture
8. Delete picture, VERY FAST, press +/START
9. Hold an item in hand, Fast press +/START twice. Now Link should be no item in hand.
10. If Link still have item in hand, press X to remove item from Link’s hand.
11. Adventure Log, find a memory video(To Mount Lanayru), view the memory video. All buttons will not work now. This is OK.
12. Wait couple seconds, press B. Link is back in front of station and able to run around, AND, controller gyro can still spin the platform in front even Link is away from the station. This proves the hacking is working.
13. Load save file (not Autosave). The loading black and white screen top-right will show only THREE hearts.
14. Buy all hearts back from status.
15. Do NOT save, go back to Myahm Agana Shrine and …
16. Do the hack 2nd time

29. Save game (with only three hearts)
30. Close game
31. Re-start game
32. Load saved game (with only three hearts)
33. Statue should say he has 12 hears.
34. Buy back all 12 hearts from statue.
35. Save game.
36. Now we permanently have the duplicated hearts.
I have spent a couple hours trying this glitch. I know it is working but for some reason it is not working for me. I get through the whole thing as expected, when I play the memory video it does not play, just as it should. However when I hit the “B” button (Nintendo switch) to exit the menu, I am immediately forced into the maze game. Any ideas?
When I tell you this helped me greatly. I need to read the steps in order to understand and know what to do. I do hearts and stamina at the same time.
@@tacopilot did you have an item in your hand? Double hit start? The first time I had to remove the item out my hand. Then went to the memory hit view and waited 5 seconds hit B and was able to move the maze. The second time I did it the item disappeared out my hands on double hitting start. I still followed the same steps. Just take you time hold shield, press the L and L3 together. When I did it link looked like he was crouching when I took the picture and proceeded with the other steps
@@Sarafina27 Thanks for the tip, I have tried both ways. Have you ever got to the point where you try to play the memory video clip and it does not play (indicating that the glitch worked) but then when you exit it forces you into the tilt game?
@@tacopilot The memory will not play. You will not see it on the screen and it will not show. The indication that the glitched worked is you being able to move the puzzle piece without being at the machine. When you are doing the Side step to bring the shield up then pushing L1 and L3 together you should be at a squat position. Take the picture and follow the delete instructions. Don't give up you got this ^_^
I refuse to do this instead of getting spirit orbs, but. When everything is maxed on this play through, that second row of hearts needs to be full.
This exploit still works as of 12/9/2019...Linkus7's directions work...it's hard to convey exactly what to do, but he provides as good a job as possible...play around until you figure out the nuances of pulling this off. I had to do the whole thing over like 3 or 4 times (it is quite time consuming, so plan for that)...I'd suggest doing this whole set of instructions once for the hearts and then for stamina.

@@WhyEden_ i'm using a wii u...but hopefully what i'm about to say might help: make sure you save at the statue after giving up all the heart vessels that you can and not once you get to the shrine. When doing the manuever make sure you have the camera selected and not some other power like magnesis. Then while holding down ZL, simultaneously press L (shoulder button) and press down on L (the left analog stick). Now you will be able to walk while looking through the camera in a crouched down position. As you approach, the upright console, you should be prompted to press A to examine. Once the picture has been taken, make sure that as soon as you delete it to immediately press start(or+). If you delete the photo and don't press start/+ immediately, then the view will change to that board game above and the rest of the maneuve won't work. Similarly, once Link is holding something, quickly double tap start/+ and then remove the items from his hands by pressing X once...continue with the rest of the instructions and it should work...let me know and good luck...hope this helps.

If you can't get it to open the menu, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SHIELD EQUIPPED. I did the camera part perfect about 30 times and it kept failing on opening the menu, before I realized I didn't have a shield equipped. I equipped it and got it right on the first try.

@@StormBurnX I would definitely play it vanilla for the first playthrough, or at least wait until you have all 120 shrines. This is my favorite game of ALL TIME, and I wish I could play it for the first time again 😂😭 But yes, when you do this glitch, that will help a ton, should you need to do it to get those last 3 hearts/stamina vessels you can't actually get in-game.

Everything worked fine, I was able to move the platform. But when I reloaded the save file I had still 3 hearts
Tobias Wilhelm I literally just finished doing it for the first time and I had some trouble at first, but I figured it out. What really tripped me up were the mechanics of what you’re supposed to do in the shrine. For example, when you press the rune and crouch buttons at the same time, you can test to see if you did it right by walking forward and then pressing “x”. If you did it wrong, Link will just jump in the air and the camera will deactivate. If you did it right, Link will crouch dash forward and the camera will flip to selfie mode. To switch back, just keep walking forward and press “x” again. Then, after you take the picture and activate the apparatus at the same time, delete the picture and THEN press plus to pause the game. Don’t try to do it at the same time because then it won’t pause, and the game will just put you in control of the apparatus without being able to move Link around. Let a little bit of delay. Not a big delay, but some delay. Once that’s dealt with, just do what he said with the holding an object, getting the game to get Link to stand up in front of the apparatus while the game is paused. Then watch the memory, and unpause. If you did that all right, then Link should be able to move freely while you can control the apparatus. Once you’ve made sure that you did it right, pause the game and load the save file you had at the statue after you’ve sold him some vessels and buy them back.
Thanks for this long answer, but I did everything right on this point. My mistake was not to buy my hearts back from the statue, he did not mentioned it in the first explanation, so I just didn't do it.

Thank you, not only did I max out hearts and stamina but, I also gained 340 rubies, there's definitely a money glitch here that can be done very early game, but it takes forever and might be a little hard on your brain figuring out the saves and stuff

if you do something wrong then the glitch works but then when you try to use the paraglider you start going down super fast. This happened to me but to solve it just teleport to somewhere different and the effect will be cleared.

Im having an issue. I put 6 hearts into the statue (out of 9 total). Saved. Went to the shrine performed the glitch. Looked at the memory waited a few seconds and after that i loaded the previous file and it showed i didnt have any of the hearts i had before. And they were still in the statue.
That happened to me, I don’t know why but I restarted and it worked must have accidentally pressed something just to it from the start and it’ll work

You can't fly very well though .It literally pulls you down with the paraglider .You don't get damage but it sucks not being able to fly.

Tried this in June 2019, and instead of having extra, the state stole my hearts and said he had none left to give me lol.. almost thought I'd lost the maximum hearts, but I reset to a previous save and everything was fine. Maybe I did it wrong? Could someone possibly confirm whether or not this works after the VR patch?
It works after the patch. Linkus skipped a few steps it seems:
After you put all your hearts in and save, you have to pull them all out.
When doing the camera glitch you have to have a shield equipped

Just did it right now. Worked for me. Just gotta pause the video and learn what commentator is explaining, I got the shrine glitch pattern on lock after only a couple tries and the rest was easy

"Hey let me see what happens if I try doing exactly this at this exact point in time and go to this exact time with this exact item and calculate how long it will take Link to make a certain face and then do this and turn like that and pause the game so then I can hold this it and then open this and say this and press these two buttons at the same time and then do this and wear this so I can turn my switch upside down and throw it up 3 times and then turn it back unpause the game and then scream at the switch for 2 minutes and then try to take a picture and press this button and go here and then change into this outfit!"

I managed to glitch the trials like shown in the video. But loading the save file only displays the original amount of hearts I have AFTER I traded in the essences. In other words, it didn’t work

@Linkus7 It’s weird that once you reload your save and you’re able to buy back your hearts, your paraglider stops working. It will still come out but your fall speed acts as if you don’t have the paraglider out. Not sure if this is useful but I haven’t seen anyone mention it yet.

Still works 28 Dec 2021, took a good hour tbh to get use to doing all of the steps, I just saved the game each time before repeating the glitch once it worked, a boost helps as spent more time dead than alive starting off and full stamina is a big time saver with limited game time 😅👍

Blood moons occur ever 2 hours and 48 seconds, or 8 in game days

If you can walk in camera mode then your good just walk up to the pedistil and hit A to snap a photo and use the device

If you're having problems with this trick, after you give all of your hearts or stamina and save it's important you take all of your hearts or stamina back then perform the glitch in the shrine. He skips explaining this step unfortunately

I somehow ended up with more money at the end of this than I started. Maybe there is a money glitch here? What if once you have completely got all your hearts and restarted app to make it permanent, you go back and do this glitch but buy like arrows from the shop to gain bomb arrows or sold something to gain money with it returning to your inventory?
I don't think that would necessarily work because something is done in the shrine that makes it to where you keep your hearts, and if you leave the shrine instead of returning to the previous save file, I heard it soft locks (or whatever you call it) your system and then you're forced to shut it off and everything, but I like your thinking mans 😂
There _is_ actually a money glitch, I've made 20k rupees only with the glitch bargaining, with about 200 essences in the statue👌
You probably would know this already, but the glitch preserves your rupees in the saved file as well as the heart + stamina amount in the glitched unsaved gameplay.
So you could sell your essences to the statue just about infinitely, as long as you sell all your essences to the statue, then save the scene with all the rupees from the statue bargain!
Thing is the game would always treat the essences as normal once they're in the statue, and the statue can hold infinite amount of essences(at least over 200) as far as I know :)
