Thank you for the video. I've hated just the idea of D.I. when it was introduced in 6. Unless it's for an in-game quest/trophy, I never touch it myself. It's even less appealing now that they limit how long you can automate things before you HAVE to manually play again.
i swear i did hate my programming studies and even leave it, and this game made me do what i hate, thanks to you i didn't waste 246 hours on that shit i understand that the auto mode is pretty insane, but being submissive to do that thing in order to just do the post game made my mind crazy

I am not finding how to specify which attack or ailment to use. Rather than being able to select Slumber I can only select use an ailment special and then the mage in super overlord casts resist break. I tried changing order in specials list but it either didn’t work or didn’t take.

I had the same problem, but my problem was, that when targeting the Geo Panel, i thought i just have to target "Neutral Forces". I hadn't yet realized that there was another order with the same icon, that ise "Target Treasure Chest" but can be changed to "Target Geo Panel"
Maybe there was an update, because a few thing is changed. For example, there is no geo panel target, only neutral target. And it doesnt work. On the overlord class map, i have to change the target to random, because any other target was selected (neutral), the character lifted the ally character, not the geopanel.
Something may have changed as when I try to input commands for the second trial with the ranger he does... nothing. Instead, it was move to target, reset, zielregen.
The last stuff was changed to "Use a Special Skill". So, just follow the guide. But after to follow it, click in the archer and go to the skill page, so. lock the Accuracy and Spiral Blast skills. So, the archer will use Zielregen.
I can’t figure out how to make it select designated attack. Only gives me prio spells or physical special.. nvm I found it. Thanks for this video super helpful
Yep, agree to that, but sadly, making 2d cost much more than 3d (that allows just copy-paste everything, except select few), though with current ai technologies it should go down quite a bit)
@@theend2574 Maybe a bit but the 3D look in D7 goes full chibi. Too much for me personally. Heads are way too big to the point of looking like a bubblehead figure. Besides that: The 3D style looks too simple and feels like im playing a PS2 or a mobile version of Disgaea. It just feels plastic.

I seem to lack the wait function. When and how is it unlocked? edit: nvm found the function didn't know that in those battles, throwing enemies on enemies would kill them... instead of, you know, merge them...
I believe it did merge them, but the move on the Summoner instakills no matter what as long as the enemy has a status ailment. So you put the ailment on, merge them, then instakill the high level enemy.
I think this has convinced me to stop playing Disgaea 7. The whole DI thing is work, and just thinking about inputting those long commands is exhausting. It's a shame I have to pass this puzzle to continue the game.
Having watched the first one and how it works, i think i am at least going to try my hand at solving these myself. I'm going to bookmark this for later. I didn't go grind crazy in the demo, and stopped at level 52. I'm working my way up chapter 3 with 6 star difficulty. I expect that sometime tomorrow I'll finish chapter 5 at 10-12 star difficulty. I am happy that the collectors edition had both a physical and digital soundtrack available, though I'm not planning on listening to it until I finish the main story, in a week or two.

But given that I love programing puzzle games like "7 billion humans" and "Baba is You" also I am somewhat familiar with the system from Disgaea 6, I'm going to at least take a stab at the puzzles blind the first couple times. Who knows maybe I'll come up with a different solution. But yeah, this guide will be helpful if things begin to get frustrating.
I'm doing the last stage and I've double & triple checked and I'm sure I got everything exactly copied. However, there's a delay somewhere in the pickups and the female samurai isn't picking up the female armor knight in time for the warrior to pick up the dragon. Any ideas why that's happening? I'm pressing the left stick to advance turn by turn already

In 6 I was fine with this system being there since it had value. Setting up the AI for auto-battle allowed for faster grinding, etc. Now that they've completely nerfed that (and let's be honest, pretty much made it useless for a proper grind), I just hate having to bother with this stuff at all. I'm only now playing the game, but I can already tell this is annoying. Them now pretty much forcing it's use like this is basically just annoying. Just let me control the chars manually. Good then that I'll likely just end up copy/pasting whatever setups were shown in the vid rather than wasting my time on this.
Thanks for the guide. This minigame combines the finest in poor translations and terrible UI, it was hard to follow even with your guide video. But at least it's done now....
@Primalliquid92 for second one i couldn't find using a specific attack. For the zombie one i couldn't find targeting a specific enemy. I thought i went through all menus
with those ones you see options with the"yellow" text? you can change what the text is so if you go to "do what" where its got like move to target, attack target ect. Scroll down to where it says use skill "random skill name" click that to highlight it and then you can cycle what skills it has, same with the targetting ones
Gotta say, this is one of the most poorly explained mechanics in the history of videogames. One of those situations where the player can see the solution but the game itself fights against them. As if the lift and throw combination only working when you go one step at a time in the first puzzle wasn't enough... why the heck is "reset target" necessary in the second puzzle? Shouldn't setting a new target be enough? Spent a good 20 minutes on that puzzle just fiddling around trying to figure out how to get the guy to go where I wanted him to and couldn't for the life of me understand why when I inputted the exact panel to go to, he'd go to a different one adjacent to the enemies instead. Apparently "reset target" was the missing piece. (By the way, the elevated tile on left the side of the enemy group works too.) Anyway, thanks for the video... sucks you had to make it in the first place, but glad you did! XD
Blah blah blah blah blah blah 😑 just simplify it boring AF. Why did they lock carnage behind this boring demon shogi. Why can't it be simple af beat the post game like the older disgaea game 5 just beat the prinny overlord boom land of carnage unlock 🎉.

I’m getting the same bug. The Warrior just stands there until the weight of the Prinny kills him. Tapping the left joystick fixes this.

On the 4th stage, the sidekick doesn't teleport to the GEO, but instead teleports to a warrior and picks him up. Not sure if it's a bug too..
maybe you have the targetting numbers flipped?

Go to chest as target and it will let you select other options like the geo panel. this caught me out for awhile doing it, DI sucks.
