    Kaz is a mix of a world class powerlifter and strongman, and he excelled at both sports. That is one of the strongest human beings to ever exist. Imagine what he'd be able to do with today's supplements, today's dietary knowledge, and technology... He's seriously break and set every single powerlifting and strongman record.

      He'd probably be the same (incredible). Kaz came from an era where training hard as hell, eating big and having a high testosterone level made you world class. Modern supps, smith machines and a paleo diet wouldn't make a blind bit of difference but distract him from being the greatest lifter on earth, something we could all think seriously about.

      @@Learn_Listen_Love People who lift like that, the way he does, will have horrific injuries & from interviews he's done, Kaz himself has had so many injuries that it would make Ronnie Coleman blush. It truly is a miracle & proof that God is real that he's still alive let alone able to move at all from what he's done to his body.

    • @Yeomannn
      @Yeomannn 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@janoycresva276 I think his training programs contributed to it, too. I have a copy of his bench press program from 1981 and it's intense. Extreme linear periodization with insane volumes of straight bar benching every week. Can't be good for the shoulders and elbows long term.

    • @Morris.Andrew
      @Morris.Andrew 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Yeomannn nothing like that is good long term without the proper recovery. Steroids helps the muscle fibers repair themselves, but they dont loosen the tendons that get tight from the intensity of ones training. Thats why self massage and stretching is important, one of the main things that I bet was neglected by top lifters back then. Most injuries in my personal opinion comes from a lack of recovery towards ones own body, letting your tendons tight up eventually leads them to snap without appropriate care when constantly training with high intenstities. Take a rubber band and pull on it slowly until it snaps, thats what happens and causes muscle tears even off the bone you slowly pulling on the band while it eventually gets tense is what happens when you constantly lay on the gas with extreme amounts of volume and intensity with no brakes to allow your body to recover, stretching and rolling out even self massage helps with this when training that long under higher intensities and likely will reduce the risk of any injuries. Just wanted to share that with you is all since you explained his program, but this guy was definitely on gear and that doesn't help either constantly going heavy and pushing your muscles either, when on gear people understand that gear helps the lifter recover, but it doesn't help the tendons and ligaments to recover at the rate the muscles do hence why the muscles vastly get stronger than those parts of the body, thats why when taking a gear I wouldn't even bother pushing weight past what you did naturally, I'd still just build up gradually where you left off on your natural level of strength and build up in small increments if some one is to ever take anything. A lot of lifters on gear even nowadays get so caught up in how strong they feel on gear that they mentally overestimate their actual strength compared to whats going on under the muscles over time, lifters will start taking these big jumps on gear and then boom they get injured due to an overestimation. I am going on rant, sorry, just love talking about this stuff. Anyways I hope you got what you needed out of the program and if you did then it was a success!

      But they've also had horrific injuries on top of it & are genetic freaks who got to that world class level of strength in spite of their horrible technique, not because of it. The overwhelming majority of people who train do so not to compete but to look good & be healthy which you won't look good if you have pectoral or bicep tears, nor will you be healthy. Ronnie Coleman also used horrific form & look at him now, he can barely walk with crutches.

    He admitted to steroid use in a 1999 article in Sports Illustrated. The guy known as "the godfather of steroids," Tony Fitton, was Kaz's personal assistant/ trainer at Auburn University in the 80's. Fitton was a powerlifter who had been friends with Terry Todd, who started the National Strength Research Center on Auburn's campus. Kaz is one of the strongest men who ever lived, and he would've been stronger than most naturally, but he most def. was not natural.

    If you look at this guy's skeletal structure and compare it to all of the world strongest men the only one is the one whos is similar to Kaz started it all which is Paul Anderson. People with big bones and muscle kill at WSM. That is the secret. The density of the bone for Kaz and Anderson explains that bone and muscle make for the strongest people of all time. The larger bones gives more mechanical advantage and more muscle mass has to cover larger bones making them unbeatable. They were both legends and probably the strongest of all time. This is the same reason why black people aka lots of muscle with small joints and small bone structure suck at strength sports. There is nothing to hold weight up for extended amounts of time once muscle gets exhausted. It all comes down to science.

    Kazmaier bench pressed 661lbs raw in competition and he was the first man to ever bench that much officially (without elbow wraps). The 661 is still one of the highest raw benches ever performed in an official competition. Ronnie Coleman surely never could have benched 660 in competition form. 600lb max for one rep in gym manner is a bit more realistic - and that's outstanding already.

    Actually what he is doing is maintaining the pressure on the chest solely, by using the range of motion that mostly only the chest is involved in. If you lock out up top it takes ALL pressure off the chest, and same with keeping the bar too low/onto your chest. He also explains different motions and grips. Watch the fucking video before you comment. He was crowned strongest man in the world 3 times, your opinion on his form means nothing whatsoever.

    I'm a dumbass because I'm hesitant that Kaz could've logpressed 220 kg? I'm sorry, did you not see him failing at 365lbs in '87?
    Sure there could've been more room on the platform but Big Z could've done that on a tightrope, and wouldn't have had a cry if Lalas or Radzikowski beat him.
    And don't bring up the powerlifting argument, Z totalled over 2400lbs many years ago and deadlifted 440kg raw recently.

Oh and also a massive amount of steroids that would make a retarded goat incredibly strong....and, yah, that's about it...

    Yea there were planes to NZ, but the strongman competition back in the day wasn't what it was today. The cost of flying out, taking time off work, and being in a strange place was higher than it is today probably.
    I know I can't just take off work (and pay for an airplane ticket) for a strength competition that pays no money haha. I do think they have cash prizes these days.

  • @milnusthegnome

  • @TypicallyUniqueOfficial
    @TypicallyUniqueOfficial 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Back then the strongman competition isn't as sponsored as it is today.
    Bill is a north american native, meaning he would have had to pay for the tickets to new zealand, taken more time off work, and in general all the costs it would have been to be in new zealand for the time he was there.

    He was the best strongman (both him and Jon Paul). To bad he never had the chance to win a 4th title at the strongman. He would have won many years in a row if they haden't moved the strongman competition to New Zealand.

    Well we can forget about Paul Anderson topping Ross's shoulder press. He died in 1994 at age 61. There is a historical marker in his hometown put up by the State of Georgia which read "Paul Anderson: World's Strongest Man" & is followed by his birth & death dates & a bio. I guess nobody is interesting in topping Anderson's 6, 270 pound back lift which is still the record. One place on the web claims that likely nobody can top it. What say you?

  • @boblackey1
    @boblackey1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ross should try to beat Anderson's 6,270 pound (3 ton) back lift & knock Paul Anderson out of the record book. Anderson's lift has been in the book since the 1950's & needs to be topped. Near by house back in the 1880's & 90's, there was a man who cut & delivered railroad crossties. Two books have been written about this man who died in 1933. He would handle & load his cross ties unassisted & stack them 5 high. They weighed 265 pounds each. For years people would gather to watch him.

  • @Maddolis
    @Maddolis 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hah, will do. The man was great, surely one of the strongest ever, but so many of his fans are ridiculously biased. I can't read Kaz's wiki page without cringing.
    " Kazmaier came in overall second to Jón Páll.[8]... Kazmaier had defeated Sigmarsson in 1987 at the Le Defi Mark Ten event in Canada, and also prior to WSM in 1988, at the World Musclepower Classic."
    Just because they couldn't go one sentence without reminding the reader how much better he was than JPS.

  • @Rhulken
    @Rhulken 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Was kinda impressed when Jón Páll Sigmarsson crushed the world record in a deadlift event and Kazmaier just gave up.(it's all yours) stopping at 1047lbs and then Jón Páll Sigmarsson put on even more weight(1153lbs) and crushed the new world record again lol.
    kazmaier:300kg raw bench press, 420 kg squat, and a 402kg deadlift
    Sigmarsson :235 kg raw bench press, 365 kg squat, and 370 kg deadlift

  • @milnusthegnome
    @milnusthegnome 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    JPS wasn't immensely strong. He was a bodybuilder prior to this, but strong for a bodybuilder. His stature was also a lot smaller than a lot of the guys. If Kazmaier were to compare his static strength to Glenn Ross, it would fail.

  • @tubaSHANK
    @tubaSHANK 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nobody put more into his lift then Magee, go back and watch him compete in the 85 WSM that is on here. Magee put every ounce of strength into every lift and is pound for pound the strongest man to ever live in my book. Also checkout the 5 part mini series also here on TH-cam titled Tom Magee Man of Iron. He should've won the 1982 Worlds Strongest you can also see that for yourself on here.

    It had nothing to do with the move to New Zealand. The competition is by invitation and Bill had a falling out with the organizers. There is a nice documentary where he talks about his disappointment about not receiving the invite.
